      @KazukiriMishamiota 4 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      @@Vampyresdontdodishes XD He does do that sometimes. I've been watching him since... I dunno 2006? He's gotten a little better about actually understanding what makes a song good since then, but he definitely gets so into things sometimes that he uh... goes overboard.

    • @Vampyresdontdodishes
      @Vampyresdontdodishes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      KazukiriMishamiota I totally dig it. Sometimes he plays for his audience, sometimes he’s just playin for himself and that’s fine lol.

    • @KazukiriMishamiota
      @KazukiriMishamiota 4 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @@Vampyresdontdodishes It totally is. One of the best parts of his playing is how much he enjoys what he's doing, even if he does go a bit overboard at times. Though, I used to watch his streams, so I've seen a couple of his practice sessions for videos... and he'll literally play a piece over and over and over again until your brain is basically dead from the repetition in order to get it sounding the way he wants it at that particular moment in time. He's very good when he wants to be.

    what this guy is doing is actually so easy... you just need to start playing piano at the age of 4-5 and practice for more than 5 hours a day for like 10-15 years, never give up and voila... I can do that too. I just don't want to. I have better things to do. like, eating potato chips and comment on youtube videos...

    Please explain some of these names for expert pianist :D
    2, 4, 6 and 8

    • @MusicalBasics
      @MusicalBasics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      polyrhythm: 2 rhythms that are not exact multiples of each other, for example 3 against 4. in the case of this exercise it is 9 against 8
      reharmonization: changing the harmony while maintaining the melody (using alternate chords, blues chords, tritone substitution)
      counterpoint: having 2 melodies that simultaneously play off each other. in this case it is the interplay between the left and right hands
      dynamics: going from very soft to very loud or vice versa

    • @Crea-Bea-Explosie
      @Crea-Bea-Explosie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MusicalBasics Thanks for your explanation!
      Is triplets abouve 8 also poly?
      Oh! Dynamics is about the volume.
      Talking about Dynamics something lit up in my mind.
      Is it just me or do you also experiënce the louder the faster you want to go and the softer the slowlier you want to go?

    • @MusicalBasics
      @MusicalBasics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Crea-Bea-Explosie yes 3 v 8 is definitely poly. as for speed, playing loud while fast is actually very difficult due to the loss of control, despite being easier than playing softly.

    • @Crea-Bea-Explosie
      @Crea-Bea-Explosie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MusicalBasics Yeah i didn't experiënce that yet fast and loud
      because my muscle strength is not yet at that niveau :)
      I only know that when i go faster i outomaticly play louder like it is locked to each other.
      But i feel like and also not experiënced that fast and slowly also need a lot of control.
