    A few days ago when I was riding around with my dad when he was working a Baltimore City Ambulance came up behind us responding somewhere so he hit the lights and siren on his patrol car to clear everybody in front of us so the medic could get through the intersection, but it was nothing like that. That was pure chaos. Great Video!

      +Bad Drivers of North Central Maryland That's really cool how your dad was able to clear the intersection for the ambulance to pass through safely. A great example of emergency responders helping each other out to ensure the safety of everyone around them. I agree, what I saw in San Francisco was pure chaos. There were emergency vehicles responding left and right confusing both drivers and pedestrians. I was freaking out, not sure which way to go or where everyone else was going. My instinct was to find a safe area to move out of the way for emergency vehicles to respond safely. Hopefully I won't see anything this chaotic again in the future, lol. Thanks for watching :)

    That was CRAAAAZY!! I've driven there a lot and this tops anything I've ever encountered in the city.

      +Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley I agree, the whole event was crazy and chaotic. I've driven in SF a few times and I have never seen anything like this before. The overwhelming response from the emergency vehicles shows how serious the emergency call was, even though I had no idea what they were responding too. I was freaking out the whole time, not knowing which way to go or turn. All I heard was sirens, honking, and screaming from people and officers in the street, lol. It was certainly a challenging drive that evening. Thanks for watching :)

      Anybody would've been confused by that chaos. Hope I never encounter something like that!!

      +Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley Same here. I hope I won't encounter anything like this. That was so overwhelming with the lights, siren, and screaming, that I wasn't sure which way to go or where everyone else was going. My instinct was to get out of the way and find a spot to let the emergency vehicles pass by safely.

      +Bad Drivers Of Napa Valley There should be no confusion . It's as simple as this . You see an emergency vehicle moving with a red light , move to the right .

    • @cadashcam6334
      @cadashcam6334  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +iluvmusic62 It's easier said than done. On a normal road, with little to no traffic, moving over to the right should be no problem. However, in a crowded city like San Francisco or New York City, with tight one way city streets littered with parked cars, pedestrians, bicyclists, and many other obstacles, there's not much room to move over. Notice the emergency vehicles moving in BOTH the left lane and right lane such as the fire trucks in the beginning of the video. Sometimes, moving right can impede a clear path for the emergency vehicles to respond. This was a one way street too, so trying to get traffic to move over is difficult as drivers can't figure out which direction the emergency vehicles will take. Combined with the lights, sirens, and honking from other drivers, it is overwhelming for some people.

    San Francisco is like the New York City of the west coast. Kind of reminds me of the time I saw a firetruck stuck in four lanes of traffic because the traffic lights were stuck at red...I'm convinced it was because the intersection had cameras to detect emergency lights and try to work in favor of that vehicle, but it backfired. Everyone ended up running the red light to let the firetruck through.

      +BDofNLA Yea that's true. San Francisco's tight and narrow streets are similar to New York City and driving within the city is no easy task for a lot of drivers, especially when emergency vehicles are trying to navigate the tight traffic jam. I think a lot of the lights in San Francisco are timed and do not have traffic signal preemption based on what I've seen to probably control both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. In most cases, running the red is the only way to clear a path for emergency vehicles, especially when an officer is controlling the intersection like in the video. Thanks for watching :)

    Wow, that's insane! Response times must be terrible. It's so interesting seeing everyone trying to move to one side or the other to make room for the emergency vehicles.

      +Bad Drivers Of Bartow County Georgia Yea it is certainly interesting to see how people behave and decide which direction is safe to pull over. Although with so many cars around and little space, it was very difficult to find a safe place to move over for emergency vehicles, hence the reason why the fire trucks and ambulances were moving through traffic slowly. Good thing the traffic police came in to escort drivers and emergency responders through intersections. You can actually hear an officer yell "Go" to let everyone know that they need to more forward and make room for the ambulance. It was a challenging drive nonetheless, haha. Thanks for watching :)

      Sacramento DashCam it was a very cool video. thanks for sharing. the officer yelling go sounded so intense. sounded like the end of the world or something. lol

      +Bad Drivers Of Bartow County Georgia Haha, I know right? I actually looked at him and then he pointed at me, screaming "Go, Go, Go!!" and I quickly sped through the intersection along with everyone else behind me. He also yelled at the pedestrians who were just standing there in the middle of the crosswalk, confused at what was going on. The whole experience was cool, yet so overwhelming with the sirens, lights, shouting, and motorcycle engines revving around me.

    • @xn7331

      +Bad Drivers Of Bartow County Georgia Haha, I was freaking out, not knowing which way to go or where everyone else was going. I wanted to get out of the way, but I ended up getting honked at by a charter bus or yelled at by an officer. I hope I won't see anything this crazy again, even though it was cool to see it in action. The reactions from the drivers and pedestrians pretty much says it all. Just pure chaos and confusion everywhere, lol.

    I'm used to sirens from living in NYC but I hate them, they're so loud it's brutal

    • @cadashcam6334
      @cadashcam6334  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +BadDrivers PA Yea I definately agree with you on the sirens. I've seen a lot of TH-cam videos of emergency vehicles responding in NYC, so the siren must have been constant with all of the emergencies that are happening in the city. Sometimes I get a mild headache when I watch this video with the sirens and all, haha. I had the windows rolled down, so that's why the sirens are very loud in this video. Thanks for watching :)

    If you need emergency services in the consolidated City and County of San Francisco, expect a slow response time.

    I think maybe what would have worked, police hold traffic in all regular lanes, clear the intersections, let the bus lane clear and have the emergency vehicles all use that

    In truth the traffic was lighter moved better than many normal P.M. commutes in downtown S.F. I have seen where are fire engine on the way to a call will be so stuck in the middle of a block it will just turn off its siren, and have to wait for several cycles of the signal to move forward. At least here there were motorcycle cops at every intersection which is not normal and that seemed move traffic much faster.

    • @cadashcam6334
      @cadashcam6334  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Stewart Pringle Yea, the motorcycle cops were already patrolling the areas that were hosting Super Bowl festivities and events, so I assumed they were either called in to assist or responded to help fire trucks and paramedics navigate traffic. The city was hosting many Super Bowl events and festivities at areas such as Yerba Buena and the Embarcadero, both of which are not too far from where the emergency vehicles were responding to. Many of the streets were closed and heavily patrolled by local, state, and federal authorities and with so many tourists and visitors in town for the Super Bowl as well as moving from venue to venue, the traffic problem was twice as bad in my opinion. Thanks for watching :)

    American drivers are so self centered all they care about is getting where they are going, even when there is an emergency vehicle. since moving to london i've realised just how bad it was in the us
