- Decided to do an extended version of some of the greatest tracks of Shovel Knight and my personal favorites. If you haven't already I highly suggest you throw Jake Kaufman a few bones over on his Bandcamp page for the OST :)

Well there's also (coping from another comment):
Antimony is an element that has two fairly well known combustible/explosive forms. Black antimony, formed from condensed antimony vapors, ignites when exposed to air, and explosive antimony will explode violently when so much as scratched. So...this song's title could be interpreted as "fire and explosions".

For those who don't know, this theme was composed by the same person that did the OST for Mega Man 1 and the BGM for Nitro Man's stage.
No wonder it gives a Mega Man vibe to me.
Probably one of the most consistent level songs in the game.
Well, it WAS made by a Mega Man composer. The Bard even says that he got it from another bard!
Nigel Joshua Orbe I also find it interesting that this composer uses more chip-tune type music before tying it into a melody, contrasting Kaufman and using melody before going into chip-tunes. A yin to the yang.

I don't feel the need of any of these songs to be orchestrated. This is perfect just like it is.
I agree for the most part. They're definitely written *FOR* this sound font. Plus it helps that this song in particular was composed by the madam who wrote the soundtrack for the Megaman games, so she's got years of experience with this sound in particular.

What I'd really love to hear is a recomposition of this of some kind. With real instruments. A cover of it, something like that. This song is too awesome, and is easily my favorite in the game.
In fact, Manami Matsume composed two of my three favorite songs in the game. I feel kinda bad for Jake Kaufman, since he did a really good job too.
Don't feel bad, all of my favourite tracks in this game are by Kaufman, looking at views and likes I'd say most feel the same way.
Muadiib Atreides True. Matsumae's tracks are up there in viewcount, but the highest ones belong to Kaufman's. My favorite tracks of his are the first level, and the second village.

Purple Necromancer Thanks for letting me know about it. Many of those arrangements IMO are awful, but there are some good ones in there. I particularly like the arrangement of the village theme.
I don't think you should say "real instruments". Spreading the stereotype that chiptunes and other electronic music aren't made with a "real instrument", whether you mean to or not, is bad for the entire genre. Computers are beautiful instruments.

i dont understand why people think plague knight is hard. he was stupid easy for me. the hardest in the game is easily propeller knight.

For me plague knight is hardest because I can't predict his attacks, but propeller is hard because of the cannon balls. In the boss rush at the end I didn't have a problem. Polar knight was ez without phase locket (I never used it on my first playthrough). It was ez because I just took a bit of damage before I touched the spikes. I got stuck on the final enchantress final form because I didn't think to shovel bounce on shield knight (The jump didn't seem high enough and the idea seemed like something that would hurt SK because it does to everything else in the game).

Yes, that fact that I can't fluently with music in the background must mean I'm 12. You didn't read it very clearly did you? I was saying at my current skill level, I really need to think when I program. I can't do it with music in the background as it will distract me.
Imptopus Yeah, It can be pretty hard to be pretty hard because music can be kind of distracting. I'd start out with music without lyrics. lyrics always make it 10x worse.

I liked The Explodatorium but MAN is Plague Knight one of the hardest bosses in any game I ever faced (probably second hardest in the game, just before the Enchantress fight)
