Wow!!! This tutorial is very helpful, i mean I'm new in using this software and i have lots of things to learn. This video is my starting point. Thanks for posting such wonderful video. i will subscribe and wait for more tutorials. thanks Peter Pancho
why cant i add the object to the lumion? also when im adding a landscape, it is pixelated and can barely recognize if it is really a landscape. please help
Buy any RTX 3060 laptop. They are not the cheapest but will handle lumion well. If you buy a laptop with rtx 3070 it will be like $300 more expensive but it will render faster
question, what is the software used originally to build the structure?? can I use google sketchup to mode the house the bring it to Lumion3 for rendering?? thanks
hi PP, I am using lumion pro 4. I am importing my sketchup model into lumion and evrytime my model keeps on hanging in the air. How can I adjust it. I can see the white arrow pointing down to where I should put it but when i press it still hangs out in the air. Can you please help..Thanxxx...Kindly waiting,,,,,SAM!!!
Peter Pancho Yeah..Floating in the air..What can be the problem here??? I tried adjusting the height but stil it wont work. Its a bit unusual because I cannot even see the Yellow box lining together with the white arrow..Need your help...
+BADREDDINE BERRADA No, you only have 9 templates like I said. However you can choose whichever u want then just change the settings. I always start with sunny day, then add more stuff if needed.
it is very useful but i am not able to import sketch up file. i click on the import file then skp file and click on the arrow shown in lumion but nothing is displayed in lumion
It's odd but one day that exact thing happened to me. The model was indeed in lumion, it's just that it was below the surface of the ground, therefore unable for us to see it. Once the skp model is placed inside lumion, use the Move tool to raise it, and that way you can see if it was below or not. On my case, it was below and also flipped. I guess it has to do with the axes of sketchup. Make sure the blue axis is properly pointing upwards.
Peter Pancho I read something about "Additional Exports" options (depthmap, normalmap, specular reflection map, lighting map,sky alpha map and Material ID) How does that work?
This video shows Lumion 3, but as on today, Lumion 5 is the current version. You do need a good video graphics card and RAM. Just go to lumion3d.com and check requirements
Hi Peter, thanks for sharing this very useful tutorial. Appreciate your efforts. I am planing to purchase a laptop and would like to use Lumion for rendering. Could you let me know whether Lenevo Y510P (Nvidia Geforce GT 750M, 2GB) would be good enough to run this software with good ease. Will this graphic card would be sufficient enough to produce fast and high quality rendered images/animation/walk through? Does processor play a vital role in smooth functioning of Lumion on Laptops? Your reply would be much appreciated. Thanks J
Jigneshrvadodaria, Lenovo is a GREAT brand, good costumer service, they came out to the surface out of nothing some might say, and is not for nothing, I believe your Y510P comes with an i7 processor as I checked, and your graphic card DT 750M ranks amongst the top 100 which, believe me, is great. You will have no problem running Lumion. However I have a GeForce GTX 670 which Ranks 11 when I put Too Much stuff in the model space in Lumion it becomes slow. Don't worry... Lower your resolution settings, at the end, the rendered video or still image is amazing.
Peter Pancho Thanks Peter, appreciate your reply. Likewise, I am also interested in buying a laptop with GTX graphics card but these cards are not available in Laptops. I would like to purchase a laptop instead of desktop for obvious reason of mobility.
this video that you are watching was using a MacBook PRO with Retina Display first generation. Which has a worse graphic card of that Lenovo. You will be fine
I am using lumion 3.0.1. when i choose any background it becomes black and the clouds become white. anybody know the solutions..? even i have graphics card but i am troubling with these bitch..!! :(
first of all thanks alot for this helfful tutorail, sir i am an architecture student in 3rd year...plz tell us sir the configuration of this pc.i need to buy a console n am really afraid and confused about the configuration atleast tell the graphichc card an processor
Sorry for the late reply I was using a MacBook Pro with Retina Display 2012 (first Generation) and by using Mac, I don't mean using OSx, I installed Windows on it via Bootcamp. however these are the specs: Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics 4000 1024 MB
If you live in USA, you can go to a BestBuy and buy a Gaming PC (if you don't want a Laptop) these PCs are called gaming because they have high end components, and is still below $2000. If you want a Laptop I recommend: ASUS ROG(Republic of Gamers) G750JH in Amazon is about $1,700 Or of course the new MacBook PRO which is $2000 now (it has the best components like the Iris Pro Graphic Card) JUST MAKE SURE THAT WHATEVER YOU USE IS i7 processor and 1GB (AT LEAST!!!) of dedicated graphic card and 8GB of RAM or MORE
This Is Chrissy That looks like an amazing laptop! if I'm not mistaken it has an Nvidia GeForce GT780M, and that is a HIGH END Graphic Cards! very good one! Again, remember that if the Lumion model gets very slow (usually because is loaded with a lot of models and effects) you will have to lower the resolution settings, (it's going to look crappy) but trust me, that's what the pro's do, those videos you see in youtube full of detail and effects, they built the model in lower settings, (once they render the video is when it looks badass) Not while editing it.
I am using lumion 3.0.1. when i choose any background it becomes black and the clouds become white. Do u know the solutions..? even i have graphics card but i am troubling with these bitch..!! :(

Hey Sam, Once you click to "place" your sketchup model in the lumion space, by hanging you mean "floating in the air"?
Peter Pancho
Yeah..Floating in the air..What can be the problem here??? I tried adjusting the height but stil it wont work. Its a bit unusual because I cannot even see the Yellow box lining together with the white arrow..Need your help...

Does Lumion have render passes?
No, it renders frame by frame as a whole, it doesn't separate layers or objects.
Peter Pancho

Short answer Yes, but, hold on... I'm checking the specs

опробуем ,испытаем) круто вроде рендерит....
the files you import are made by you? And if so could you explain a little what program have you used? xd
Yes, you can create your own 3D files in SketchUp like I did, or Revit, or Maya, or most of other 3D softwares. then you import them into Lumion.
Thank you!
Nice tutorial! Looks tho like mom and dad are having a fight and the kid wants none of it :))
Please download the lumion 3 software download link
