I'm battling Brain Fog. Daughter has PhD in Neuroscience specializing in Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's. They run in her Mom's family. She's fighting for her own life too. I shed a rare tear over this song.
Bipolar here. My son has just got his doctrine in Neuroscience also. If not just for us, let us hope that someday our kids will find a cure for future generations also. 😔🌹
As a person who does lots of drugs and will, therefore, most likely have dementia when I get older, I want to thank you for making this song while I can still enjoy it.
I love these girls, especially this song. Dementia and other mental health issues run in the family so I'm almost guaranteed to lose my mind at some stage and this speaks to my soul. I am absolutely in love with these two
Same here, I just turned 59 & was diagnosed with bi-polar by the time I was 30. My dad started with dementia 7 mos ago & he is slipping fast. It's trying on my mom since she is his care giver the majorityof time & I see her getting anxiety from it. I do my part & stay with them to help out a few days at a time until I feel it wearing heavily on me & have to step away a few days for my own sanity. I don't know how my mom deals with his dementia day after day. They been married 67 yrs. So she won't put him in a home. It makes ME wonder just when.or how old I'll be when my son recognizes I have small signs. I ask him to put me outta my misery, I don't wanna put that burden on him & I don't wanna live not knowing whats going on around me & having delusions my lived ones are against me. Mental illness is a battle when many have no clue! I wouldn't wish the curse on anyone. Hugs to you xo❤
I have made similar comments to these in response to other Larkin Poe videos, but they bare repeating. The first time I discovered these girls on TH-cam, it was their performance of this song at The Convent. The timing seemed strange, as it was just 2 days after I had bid farewell to a much loved aunt, who had passed away with dementia. I was in bits as I listened to this track, but mesmorised by their performance. Ever since, I have never been able to watch any recording online of this without weeping. But last weekend I saw them live at the Roundhouse in London, where they played this, and it was my highlight of the show. At the time of writing this, another lady long known to me, though unrelated, has been placed in a care home owing to dementia. I follow Rebecca and Megan avidly now, loving their music, and ever grateful to them for writing this.
Absolutely beautiful song, I understand the being afraid of what’s in your blood as my mom is schizoaffective and for years I was afraid of having problems like her.
This is phenomenal. As a kid, my grandfather once forgot my name while registering me at his country club. This hits way too close to home. Utterly brilliant. So much so that I'm gunna cover it. People need to know who you girls are.
@@crimsonspade4305 I've actually played a few different versions of it but never felt Mt voice was up to par with the girls' so I just put it on the backburner....but wow! Did t think anyone was actually truly wanting to listen! I'm away from my guitar atm after a brief hospital stay 😫 but I'll record a good version and dm you! :) This made my day.
@@Sunuvavitch well I hope things get better for you. I know the hospital is always a tough place to be. Ile be looking forward to it your cover though ty
I am currently trying to figure out the best way to tend to my father, who is way over the edge. Crying along with this song is far better than crying by myself...
This song hauntling strikes home for me My father was diagnosed as being a paranoid schizophrenic I did ask a doctor I was seeing at the time if it were something I needed to be concerned about Being told that I was not displaying any of the signs was NOT totally comforting to me I find it disconcerting that I or my children may succumb to the disease at some point
As a grandson and great-grandson of grandmother and great grandmother with dementia/ alzheimer this song is soul catching. I hope your singing career soars with the world's greatest performers.
I really like this song and have it in some playlists, but figured out I have a hard time singing along, because even if I'm not emotional I'll still choke up when I try. That fear definitely runs deep even when I don't think about it. Between several mental problems that run in my family, I also have MS and that is stealing my ability to think even if I've been trying to stay vigilant about everything else.
Absolutely awesome and amazing, beautifully sad definitely my favorite song by you Larkin & Poe , great artist thank you so much for sharing you're beautiful music with all of us... PSS I love you Pops
It runs in my family on both sides. I worry about it frequently. Would literally be the worst. You two beautiful women sang it well. I listen to your words frequently. I appreciate them.
studies have shown that less than 0.5% who consistently engage in social partner dancing never get mental illnesses typically associated with aging. One theory is because the mind body and spacial awareness coordination on a moving dance floor keeps the brain in good working condition. I think it is also about the mind, body, emotions learning to move in tandem with another to the music.
This song strikes Close to the heart. More than one generation of family has dealt with these debilitating illnesses. And yes, it's come for me too...🤔
To real.🤪.I have no words I cried. . Of with her head lol that was spooky but good I need to go back and read the read again to I'm feeling discombobulated haha 🤣 have you seen the white rabbit lately he's always so late for my tea party's I sent him a tea plant🍂 and pot⚗️ to boil it in I also sent the cup☕ and a cow 🐄for the milk 🥛there's no excuse for been late 🕰️🤪 il chase him later I have a few dimensions to visit first stop is sleep land I have some zeds to catch haha 😴 xxx
I had an incident a month ago my daughter saw me and I do not think I will ever be able to read to my grandchildren like I did with them. Mental illness takes so much it leave you a shell filled with all these terrible memories you make your own world to survive.
It'd be so great if the Lovell Sisters would perform and release O Come, O Come Emanuel!!! Most folks think it's a Christmas song. It's not. It's a Rapture song. O Come, Emanuel, and receive us into yourself, o Lord
My mom got alzheimers dementia and it was difficult to convince her doctor there was something wrong, because my mom could answer coherently when we were at the doctor 😕 It always the small subtle signs there is a tell tell... I had to take over everything slowly and be a "parents" for my mom it was really hard, because my sister had already "tab out" and didn't want to help... Tuff times and years.... It was first when she got her autopsy they saw the alzheimers dementia was discovered, a CT scan could have done that...
Best with what I'm given? I was given a crushed skull, death from different head injury, and I got hit by lightning unharmed. What's the best I can make with this?
I think I just discovered plagiarism of Your song Sanah- Hip Hip Hura th-cam.com/video/npPaN-n7gCk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uJ7tQjfbeslBJBsS I just listened to radio and I was sure it is You singing but in polish 😮😮
As a person with bipolar disorder, I want to thank Larkin Poe for creating a song that brings attention to what those with mental illness suffer.

My favorite song from Larkin Poe, especially when you let the words sink in....
Great artists these two sisters.

Amazing song. Goosebumps everytime. One of my favorite bands. The way they play guitar so floydesque

wow you guys remind me of sally and ren two chicks on my block in chicago in the 60's who played the blues at our local dive.
Always ❤never gets old , Love this
As someone who comes from an extremely dysfunctional family riddled with addiction and other mental issues, man this hit hard. Well done.
Ein so wundervoller Song - ein komplettes Fallen in das Lied überkam mein Sein!!!
Amazing - greetings from Germany!
Beyond powerful, lyrics, vocals, music!

Love your music. Wish you'd play in Wichita Ks someday.
This is without doubt one of LP's very best and most moving songs! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for this. Waiting for Blood Harmony album to drop.
Such a personal song, written from a place of sadness....and so incredibly beautiful.
It runs in my family on both sides. I worry about it frequently. Would literally be the worst. You two beautiful women sang it well. I listen to your words frequently. I appreciate them.
I have DID and family members with dementia and alzhimers... this song really speaks to me.
Absolutely amazing. I lost both my parents to dementia this definitely hits home for a lot of people
These girls are excellent. I'm old and nothing has caught my attention like they have.
Ty so much 4 the lyrics. I love love LOVE this song. Played it on repeat for hour and a half when I first heard it
WHY DO I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH?!!!!!!

I love you guys! Your live version is even better, as is the case with most of your music. I like the studio cuts too, but you guys rock live!
This song strikes Close to the heart. More than one generation of family has dealt with these debilitating illnesses. And yes, it's come for me too...🤔
Magnifique chanson ❤❤❤❤
This is so beautiful. But my favorite version is the live. ❤

Flying to Tampa from Buffalo next month to see you play, hoping you include this. I think it showcases your talents like no other.
Whoa!
Hadn't seen this video version before. Music spot-on (as usual!) and the production/editing is powerful. Brava!
What an art
Hermosa canción 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤😢
That's cool parents started them young. They did an awesome job with them obviously
💜💜 Nicely executed.
Would love lyrics to Black Echo my favourite Larkin Poe song.
Marvelous and so sad.
Cool as it is
Powerful statement. So right too. Dimentia, Alzheimer's, PTSD. Can happen to anybody.
This is the song that did it for me
..
.
Latch ;)
Would love to see and hear your rendition of Grinder switches picking the blues instrumental.
Important song. ❤️
I love these young women as well. Their music resonates with my soul. 💕 Me writing this comment is proof. I don’t do this 😄
Wow
Oh God, please don’t come for me…
I love this song.
This makes joy division look like kool and the gang.

On the bed, on the bed, bed of roses, bed of roses is what I thought
I'm not crying. You're crying
🤘👍
why is this song not on their latest album?
It will be on their new live album, finally! 🙏🏻
Great song. Listen to it all the time. But the live version with drums is superior.
I wish they'd sing Dust In A Baggie by Billy Strings
Soul sealers
This is what scares me.
Why IS a raven like a writing desk?
They both like red rose? Idk 😄
Ohhh Paris.
