LYRICS
Stonewall - go to bat
Unless you want to live like that
Stonewall - can't we see
We're our own worst enemy
A land said to have all, wealth in land, in man
Qualities soon to exhaust as man's greed poisons the land
Streams, once fresh, were centers of life for so many a creature
Beauty without a defense, polluted, never to replenish
Stonewall - go to bat
Unless you want to live like that
Stonewall - can't we see
We're our own worst enemy
Collage, blue and green, seen as golden industrial sites
Smudge as toxic pollutants destroy her remaining rights
The power of corporations, spewing chemicals into the air
Fines are imposed to discourage, but what's a dime to a millionaire
Stonewall - go to bat
Unless you want to live like that
Stonewall - can't we see
We're our own worst enemy
It's time to listen, and see the signs
It's time to listen and hear her cries
The one that gave us life is being burned to the raw
Reaping unprotected riches, human nature's self destructing flaw
The power of corporations spewing chemicals into the air
Fines are imposed to discourage, but what's a dime to a millionaire
Stonewall - go to bat
Unless you want to live like that
Stonewall - can't we see
We're our own worst enemy
jeff Waters is the single most underrated guitarist of all time!!!
Him and Chuck Schuldiner are the greatest yet underrated metal songwriters. Someone who's also very underrated is Glenn Tipton.
Don't forget Glen Drover
people dont recognize Canadian talent
Um, Glenn Drover, Yo?
American metal? The close to the Canadian border they live the better their music is... or it is just me and my European taste :P
One of best thrash metal albums ever. Waters isnt even hardly mentioned in same breath as Hammett Mustaine etc.... Absolutely epic flawless shredding
he is when i bring up the best and people ask me whos that
Jeff isn’t mentioned much amongst us mere mortals but in the metal world he is highly respected. Mustaine asked him to join Megadeth TWICE!!!
top of the top!
One of the greatest Metal figures ever. Talent, technique, soul, perseverance. God bless you, Jeff.
Love the melodic riffs in between hard ones. Great balance, great band.
Michael McLaggan sounds like 99 ways to die a little by Megadeth think Dave stole the idea a little
I like this style. Its like thrash metal mixed with AOR melodic rock. Perfect combo!
Great comparison. Never thought about it like that but you're totally right
That's the magick of Annihilator. Jeff is a huge Van Halen fan.
not exactly aor , but much more purely melodic american hard' n heavy metal , not that really radio friendly because still very heavy !!!
@@whytegroovin It’s more technical than raw Thrash Metal but not AOR, definitely agree with you.
Похоже на Hard And Trash
The best line up of Annihilator and one of the best album.
Absolute Masterpiece!
Queen would be proud of this song.
Totally!
Sry man but how cn dis b a masterpiece
@@pzdipuing melodic changes lyrics voice guitar playing and different tones time it came out just bc a blind critic set it a low rating when it came out doesn’t mean anything this is a bedrock
@@Eaglejorge okay🙏🙏
This is what I like about thrash metal, it's pure energy. Specially these guys.
Can you imagine if Jeff would have actually accepted Daves offers to join Megadeth? I mean, i fucking love Marty..... But holy shit Jeff is in a different league.
I agree in a league of his own.
Probably would sound the same. Correct me if I'm wrong but dave wrote most of the stuff. Im sure Marty had some say and ideas, but I think no matter the lead it would still sound the same. I'm not 100% sure though.
What about Chris Poland?
+Troy yeah I'm sure megadeth would have kept that same awesome sound they had with Poland if he was still in the band. Still waiting for a sequel to peace sells!
I want a superband, with Jeff Waters, Dave Mustaine, Frank Bello, Dave Lombardo, and Joey Belladonna
I love how they completely gloss over the fact that Jeff broke a string at 1:42
I wish Coburn had stayed on as Annihilator's vocalist. He was, in my opinion, the best vocalist they had. He had a massive vocal range, and if you want proof of that, listen to Imperiled Eyes. It sucks that he only did the one album with them.
Yeah that's true. His voice fits so well w/ Annihilator's riffs.
I think that's the reason Annihilator didn't became bigger, the constant line-up changes, people just got used to a vocalist and on the next album/tour he was already gone.
***** Yeah, fans don't like it when a bandmember leaves, specially the leadsinger, just take a look how people bitched about Sammy Hagar in VH for years and when Eddie replaced him with Gary Cherone in the late 90's,they were bitching about that too.And now take a look at Annihilator,on every new album, a new singer, hell an entire new band,it doesn't help selling records/tickets despite the music beeing great.
That's true, it hurt Yngwie as well. If he could have kept one singer for a long time, he would have been WAY bigger because his music is totally commercial.
Coburn Pharr did one Omen record that I hated, and it had nothing to do with him - Paul O'Neil (Savatage producer) came in and in the early days of digital recording, they made everything sound wimpy as hell.... and all of the bite and drive that Omen had on the previous release, Paul O'Neil eliminated with one record.
Coburn is one of my favorite singers - go listen to the demo's he did of "Bats in The Belfry" - he owned that shit. Not to take anything away from Aaron, he was a bad-ass in his own right - and while he had an awesome range, he didn't have the bight and power that Coburn Pharr had.
I just wish somebody with some actual money had backed Annihilator with enough cash so that they could have all made a living doing it, but the reality is - that has happened to tons of bands we think of as being "big". Fates Warning? Their singer, Ray Alder, was working in a record store.
Agreed man, Imperiled Eyes is some kinda beast mode for him
One of the greatest guitar riffs ever this band is legendary
this sound is amazing. I love Annihilator music because they have a unique style.
One of the BEST thrash bands....EVER!
This was one of the music videos i looked forward to seeing on Headbanger's Ball every week.
The best period of the band, for me for sure. Super, a perfect combination of rhythms, absolutely revolutionary at the time. I recommend harder music to all fans. The band still plays great to this day.
that arpeggio from second 29 is LEGENDARY
Jeff Waters has always been one of the top 80's metal guitarists and songwriters, his bandmates just never seemed to meet the same standard in my opinion.
That is all Waters on bass and all guitars in studio.
I get all kinds of emotions when I listen to this band. They have mellow moments, then they rip right out with their intense rock. There is so much going on in this song that it is simply captivating. Never a dull moment!
Since we are at Roadrunner Records here, i want to mention the Mercyful Fate influenced Riff that kicks in at 2:38 , and gives me chills every time i listen to this epic song by the Canadian thrash titans Annihilator.
Nice - shameless plug. Hahahaha.. Annihilator among most under appreciated powerhouse bands of the whole metal world
damn you! it gives me chills now lol
What I find cool about this video, is that it probably wasn't hard to make
doesn't look like high tech footage, yet it's super awesome and just works cause the guys were so energized
Annihilator has always been my first choice of Thrash- Together with Testament of course.
fucking agree, best two thrash bands along with megadeth
Those two bands are the absolute kings of old-school Thrash metal indeed \m/
Teutonic thrash
Hell yes. My band played with testament. They alway progress.each album differnt type.of metal while stoll being awesome
@@guitarriff333 Never really thought of Megadeth as a thrash band. It's really just the first couple records and a few songs here and there that are actual thrash. Mostly just heavy metal imo. But great nonetheless.
Timeless...

that guitar solo is amazing.!!
Coburn will always be the Annihilator singer IMHO, I own the "Never neverland" LP and when he left I wasn't interested anymore. Although the live footage I've seen with Padden is impressive.
Something about the first two albums, they just make me happy after all these years! Jeff waters is still thrash metals best kept secret
Musically, Annihilator had my respect. Ideologically now too.
one of the most underrated bands in the history of mankind!!!
This was one of the first Annihilator songs that I had the pleasure to listen. So amazing. I was immediately hooked.
As a musician I always come back to this song for its brilliance . Absolute masterpiece
singing in the shower doesn't make you a musician, Patrick.
Commenting over supposedly musicians with a goku profile pic doesn't make you a real goku, Grosu Cosmin Ionut
@@grosucosminionut8073 kinda does. A musician performs other people's music. An artist creates new music
I didn't discover this band until like 2020. I'm an old guitar player/headbanger from like the 80s. How did this happen!?!?. Well at least I found them and I'm buying their albums & sharing my findings with others every chance I get! Thanks Jeff & company
Listened since release. Still kicks ass.

Great song from the best Annihilator album ever. 'The Fun Palace' is my favorite song all though the album contains a bundle of Annihilator classics that makes it hard to choose
PLEASE BACK IN THIS TIME!!
Jeff's clean passages in this make me feel like giving up on guitar playing. Just never hear such fluid playing when it comes to clean runs

Incredible melodies, rock solid song structures and time less lyrics. My second annihilator song and I’m hooked!
Amazing ending, very good riffs too
I’m in love, yet: very very wonderful NEVERLAND: the best formation, the best voice, the best sound mixage and engineering (G.Robinson), the best ethic concept (in lyrics), the best album of Annihilator-Waters (and this: the best video): thanx very very much, RoadRunner!
very sad ANNIHILATOR separated with this vocalist
Jeff*
I disagree this guy sucks
Their best singer and album by far
Aaah man, that solo gets me everytime! Annihilator rules!

Still remember the first time I saw this video on Headbanger's Ball...it has stuck with me to this day. Jeff Waters deserved a lot more attention.

Yea
Jeff was on fire on this album, and Coburn's vocals fit great with the band and the material.
Guitar breakdown is badass!
Still their best album!Simply adoring song. 'm/

@@dravenquinn264 yeah, mine too 🤘
They had good singers too for me Aaron Randall was good but definitely not their best but I still thought he was good Dave Padden was great Joe Comeau was great I like Joe more than Aaron Jeff Waters is great Randy Rampage was awesome and Coburn Pharr was awesome too My top 3 singers in the band would be Dave Padden Coburn Pharr And Randy Rampage another great one for me that’s not in my List is Jeff Waters and Joe Comeau too
@@dravenquinn264 my favorites were Randy and Dave. I like Jeff, but as a guitar player, he's amazing, but his voice not so much. I would have preferred that Dave continued on vocals. I saw them playing live with Dave, killer show
For me both Randy Rampage and Coburn Pharr are tied as the best singer of Annihilator and Joe Comeau would be the best out of the recent singers in the band
Fantastic.
These guys were 30 years early on sounding the climate change alarm.
Same with EvilDead and Nuclear Assault.
J Doggy the greenhouse effect by Testament AND critical mass by nuclear assault
@The Donald#1 we put these stupid theories out there and put the truth behind us. Look at the facts and the news. Were in a complete and total apocalypse.
@@henrym7427 Don't feed the troll dude.. he's not worth the time.
Testament as well. "Greenhouse Effect" on Practice what you Preach album.
The music and the places of this video makes of this song something orgasmic!
Hahah! Nothing like a metal show in the beautiful Canadian mountains :P
Jeff Waters is a GENIUS!!!
I keep seeing Tom Cruise in the thumbnail.
I'm so glad I was not the only one!
now me as well ;D
Pretty sure thats rob lowe
I keep seeing a friend of mine that looks like the singer a lot
wierd i see jim carey
This is song is almost euphoric. Like the moods
This is the Metal that I love to hear!! \m/
loved this band back then one of my favorite albums by them and songs!
i'm so glad i clicked on this
This arpeggio is beautyful
It's cool! From Russia with respect
First Annihilator song i ever heard back in the day, Never Neverland their best album too me.
SIMPLY
AMAAAAAAAAAZING
0:28 This arpeggio makes me cry
who listening in 2019 ????
and i will still be listening in 2020
Właśnie 'Neverland' wraca u mnie do odsłuchu w samochodzie. Kawałek przeżyje drugą młodość odkąd Jeff przyznał co było inspiracją do napisania 'Psycho Ward'.
Pozdrawiam
I never stopped listening to this song !!!
I am, because new thrash metal from the classic bands all seem to have a super plastic production that makes it hard to listen to
I am 2020 no se ingles
Amazing Band. Amazing composer and guitarist!!
well Steve Harris seems to be multi-talented.
Wow, been listening to thrash for years, how the F did I miss these guys? Im on my third video now, catching up! Also, wow guitars! Including bass, that guy GROWLS back there. badass.
Listen to this song and while watching dont care of obituary
one of my favourite songs ever!!!!!!
