Just currious, where is the man of the family?
Secondly, was your family decendents from Carribean?
Her accent is adapting to South African English accent. I love it
I do too 🤗
I've noticed that as well
She said : "haaa! you can't be shy, you said you wanted to talk"...you know that is a South African expression, she really sounds homegrown now
That's what I picked up ,she sounds so South African
Just literally saw this after typing the same. This one is one of us now 😂
Your oldest daughter seems more confident in this video than in previous videos. She is really flourishing in SA.
I'm so proud of her
@@AshleyinAfrikaYou Go Mommy ❤
I like your elder daughter, she looks like majority of us and the accent is becoming South African
You should hear them talk on the daily 😅
so far most Americans who have decent to South Africa have shown positive attitude towards mzansi. My take let's applaud them because South African tourism was not sold en mass than it is now.
Now the attitude by most Americans back at state have change because of people like, Ashley in Africa, Mark and Dr Blanton, Assad my peculiar particular bam bam bam yes three times friend. Not forgetting others. I love you guys❤❤❤
I notice that when she talks to her sister she’s giving South African but she talks to mommy it’s giving United States.
Truth 😂
@@AshleyinAfrikaAshley you are a very intelligent woman who uses critical thinking to address all your issues and you are also doing an excellent job at raising your child as a single mother. Congratulations and blessings to you and your children 😊
She also said "hayiiiiiii talk you said you want to talk" oh my god she's cute
The South African school curriculum is demanding but brimming with activities throughout the academic year. Once she completes grade 8, she will find it easier to adapt and carve her own path. So far, she appears to be well-adjusted. You have beautiful girls.
I agree, thank you.
Your daughter's are beautiful 🙏🏽 they seem to have picked up a totally different accent from yours😀
They totally have, I've learned my South African slang from them 😅
True the girls seem to have a South African English accent for black kids.
The curriculum sounds very challenging and incorporates life skills. Her classes will help her develop to become such a well-rounded individual; especially learning different languages.
It is and I am SO proud of her!
Neh! She is now one of us.
Penelelope too!
🫶🏽@@AshleyinAfrika
I just like her she's looks very humble when she speaks
I love the way you, engage and interact with your kids. It's a beautiful thing.
Thank you so much! Living on the Continent has made me a better mother by far
@@AshleyinAfrika Your videos have opened my eyes to a lot of the good things that are taking place on the continent. Your children seem happy. I am however taken aback that you oldest daughter wants to attend boarding school.
I attended a very elite college and a lot of the students at my Alma mater attended elite boarding schools in the states. They were independent and mature, but also sometimes emotionless. Maybe boarding school is different in South Africa, but I always believed that parents who don't want to be bothered raising their children, send them off to boarding school. I do not know anyone who volunteered to go. They went more or less because their parents were wealthy and very busy. That was my impression, but I'm open to acknowledging that it may be different in South Africa.
She's so calm and articulate
Yes your daughter is making us so proud 🥲 and I'm inspired to do the leap to the Continent.
It truly warms my heart to see these beatiful black girls growing up on the conitnent, as well as the education that they're exposed to. I have been trying and trying to advise my daughters to consider this option for my grandchildren, but they are so stubborn and won't listen. Thanks Ashely for sharing this!!
Thank you for watching and for commenting. Share this video with your daughter, maybe it will give her a different perspective.
@@AshleyinAfrika I sure will, thank you!
Wow. Her accent is becoming South African. Yippee 🎉
Travelling is another éducation
It really is
Boarding schools can be tricky because kids can either thrive or completely have mental issues there. I recommend you go for options where she comes home weekends at first so you can check how she adjusts. Later grade 10 and above she will have a lot of school work so she can stay longer
Tell lil sis great job on publishing the journal 👍🏾👍🏾!!!
🔴⚫️🟢
Thank you, I will. Purchase, one and leave her a review. It would mean the world to her! www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2D2QGSP
Zhaeniya is now a Mzansian for sure. Hopefully, she'll drop some Zulu and Sotho phrases in the next video she's featured. . 🙂
Ashley, you must be so proud of your lovely daughters! Your eldest is very poised and articulate young lady! Brava!
Thank you-I’m extremely grateful.
I never thought in my life I'd hear a Black American child developing our English accent lmao it's so surreal yet cool. Once she starts forming proper sentences in one of our languages, she's never going to go back again lol.
I'm telling you 😂😂
When she said half past ten I said ok she is there.
@@Flourish_today I noticed that she says irrm, instead of umm. In the U.S., when we pause or think about something we say, "UMM," whereas Britts tend to say "Irmm."
Her skin is popping
The mix of American and South African accent is very nice to listen to maybe because she is an articulative person.
Smart older daughter who is observant in things and interesting she wants to go to boarding school and younger daughter too seems to express herself in talking. and older daughter kudos to her for writing her journal. wonderful mom you are Ashley 😊
Thank you so much
The title is “ Why my daughter wants to leave Johannesburg South Africa” maybe I missed it, but it appears that she loves it in Africa well enough to want to go to boarding school which is an African/ European tradition. So I think you should change the title of the video. Unless, I totally missed it, I think the video is beautiful and highlighting your daughter’s experience which is quite positive and encouraging, so if that is the case the title should reflect her “truth”. However, please forgive me if I just missed the negative points warranting the “title of the video”
Agreed
Agreed, very misleading
Please upload a video of Penelope dancing to Amapiano! Thank you beautiful girls.
it sooo much 😭😅
Yes please lol
Wow you just inspired me to do a video like this! Very important for the children!
When she said half past ten girrrrrrl she in south africa for real. Usually Americans in general normally say ten thirty you know....i love it though
Yes, half past ten I liked that as well
Wow, I can actually here Miss Z's accent coming out as she spoke to Miss P. Love it. So nice to watch your young ladies growing up inthese videos ♥
Thank you
Wow! What a mom, what wonderful children xx
Mommy is so proud ❤. Your baby girls confidence is improving . 🎉
I'm so proud
I love how she pronounces "Setswana".
Ashley ❤ this is really beautiful. When your daughter corrected herself and said “persevering,” I could see the proud mama all over your face!
I have a toddler son and I want the best for him and for his school to nurture and challenge him just like I do at home. As a substitute teacher in a city high school (DC), it saddens me to see so many young people enabled with such a low standard of learning and even with the low standard, so many of them are unenthusiastic about learning overall. The opportunities they have at our school are so plentiful but you have to pull teeth to get them to recognize it and seize these opportunities. I love my city as it’s my home and my students but I can’t see myself keeping my son in this school system. I truly can’t.
Thank you for sharing this Sis. Trust your self and you make the best decisions for you and your family.
I love the natural look of your daughter Ashley
She is so polite. Congratulations, mom.
I liked how you were a bit sarcastic or how you employed euphemism with your younger daughter when you said "Oh, look at these monkeys, that's when you know you are in Africa" 😂😂😂
Nice family video and your older daughter has adjusted to the SA pronunciation." Thanks
Interesting school term project especially that we now in elections season I love it big up to our little sister 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

3:07 I’m wearing my Bose headphones and that fly going past that got caught by your camera had my swatting my left side of my head like it was in the house with me.
Loving the feedback from your daughter. I’m a South African living in the US and my daughter has an American accent and mannerisms now
Will definitely get the journal.
Thanks for your support!!
Great vlog so educative , she is slowly adjusting to south African accent, all the best in her studies "
Yeah in South Africa at break time all the kids have to be outside.
Your daughters are so beautiful and seem very happy. So awesome.

The way your daughter switches from mzansi to states english is dope... its as if shes language switching hahaha
This is moving. It's balm to my soul. I like that you are embracing our beautiful country, and it's embracing you back. Mandela must be smiling wherever he is.

Zenaya now looks south African
Just found your channel. I think it’s amazing you live in South Africa. Your daughters are so beautiful. I have always wanted to visit South Africa. ❤
Did your daughter just say ahhh you can't be shy😂😂😂😂. She is fully South African.
They really are 😩😂
Really nice and wholesome video.
Your daughter is so confident now, its beautiful to see.
I agree
Hey there Ashley from San Diego California
I love the idea of boarding school. It seems like a more realistic transition to "adult life" from high school than the traditional route 🦋
Cute 😂❤we love it that you guys love it here
11:35 not the requirement for all schools. Love how your daughters accent has become so South African
Happy birthday girl
She says, “Thank you!” 🥳
Beautiful!! Good luck being accepted to the school of your choice.
Our nieces ❤🙌🏾
That was great, family.
Yesss chef 👩🏽🍳💁🏽♀️
The girls are so bright for their age
I love that she says half past 10 instead of ten thirty ❤
Awwwww Beautiful Little Ladies!
🌺🌺🌺🙏🏿🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏿
She is so cool ☺️
They want 60% to guarantee her entry into University. If she drops below that the odds are very slim that she will be accepted into University, although it is not the law to achieve that grade.
The music is nice , Amapiano😃
