    Recently got the MI3152. Have only had it a few weeks so still finding my way round it but it’s a great tester with so much functionality. Loving the videos of the Metrel series 👍🏽😊 thank you

      What won you over on the metrel mi3125 instead of the other brands

    • @franad14

      mohammed ali I decided on the MI3152 because of the number of functions and future proofing. You can update the software when the regs are updated. Its easy to use and intuitive. I wanted to make sure I bought a tester that I hopefully won't have to replace for a good few years and I think this one fits that bill for many reasons including the competitive pricing for all the features you get. I would highly recommend it.

    The queation I have is, how the hell is the phase rotation set as 3.2.1. When you just swapped 2 and 3.
    Shouldn't it say 1.3.2.?
    I guess my general question would be, how would you determine and fix the pahse rotation with the metrel?

      Roger Bean they have 2 now available ... a 16A and 32A ... A1641 and A1642 adaptors 👍🏽😊 both supporting the A1507. Looks like they also have the A1110 3 phase adaptor (16A) which tests direct from the tester amongst others. Just been checking out the Metrel website out of interest :)

    Hi guys great vid was wondering if yous could do a video on ring final circuits and if there is specific way they should be wired or recommended way to wire eg balance for the ring and taking the first two cables to the closest sockets then working your two legs to the centre of the ring to complete. I would be interested to see if this is what most people do now a days as this wasn’t the way I was taught but just curious. Thanks efixx

    Hello, a question about the MI 3155 or MI 3152: Do you have the accessory receiver A1191 R10K to selectively place conductors in walls or in boards with the A1192 tip ?. I understand that R10K is also used to locate buried cables. A video on this topic would be nice. Greetings

    I have the 3152, seems you better demostrate this than Metrel!!! Would like to know if you can alter the RCD settings to test Type 'A' as advised by Hager? Also an in depth feature of the test results for printing onto certs. Cheers

      Yes you can , just go to the bottom left corner and touch the greyish box to highlight options.

    Better example for the check of the proper direction of the rotating field is a table saw. A defective compressor is nothing compared to a sawblade flying through the air....quite undesirable scenario...
    Back in the old days equipment like this one here were used to test the direction of the rotating field:
    www.alte-messgeraete.de/elektrotechnik/hartmann-braun-frankfurt-a-m/drehfeldanzeiger/
    The terminals are labeled R, S and T which were the old designations for L1, L2 and L3 at that time when the device was manufactured (1965).
    A three-phase meter must also be connected with a clockwise rotating field.
    I use the Fluke 1654B for six years now, and it still can do everything that is required these days, including test of type B RCDs. And most german electricians use Gossen Metrawatt, Fluke, Chauvin Arnoux, Benning or Megger. Maybe I should support Megger, because their german plant is almost arround the corner....and if there are any problems with one of their products, just simply throw it over their fence :-P...no, just a joke...

    Have looked at this a few times, looks like a great bit of kit, and I can understand why it's so dear as it has great functions, display etc, I like the plug connector for the back (keeps it simple) and I like the probes (chunky and substantial) but unfortunately the price (albeit probably justified) puts me off.

    • @franad14
      @franad14 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ray Murphy i was a little sceptical at first re the plug for the leads but I find the leads actually get less tangled due to the fact they’re all attached together as well 👍🏽😊 having used another brand tester before whose leads got tangled up relentlessly 🤦🏽‍♀️ this is a refreshing change

    • @rogerbean393
      @rogerbean393 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Valid point below about leads, my fluke always get twisted together.
      You won’t regret it, make the meggers look positively archaic.

    About twice the price of the MI3152 and every other tester out there at the moment. I looked at it about 3 months a go and literally couldn’t justify it unless testing large industrial production sites or Data centres. Cheeped out and went for the 3152 🤣

    Incorrect phase sequence tests, yet the unit reports green tick :)

    • @franad14
      @franad14 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ressy6 I think it’s because it’s testing the voltage rather than a phase rotation 🤔 the voltage readings were correct therefore passing the test even though the phase rotation was incorrect. The phase rotation is more a visual check I believe.
