Thank you so much. I started feeling a lot of pressure and tightness in the chest, high sympathetic charge, then it shifted to the head where I felt pressure, heaviness, diffuse energy making me feel dissociated. I worked with the second feeling, and I saw a maze-like forest, with swampy colors, a greenish mist swirling close to the ground. There was no light from the sky or sun visible, it felt like a sluggish, dark place where I can get lost. The feeling took the shape of a woman spirit, wearing a vaporous green dress without clear limits, at times translucent, and she was holding her head with both hands. She looked like she was lost, or grieving, or both. The mist spiraled around her. She told me that she didn't feel like she truly exists, and she felt like she had no free will, like she was destined to a lost and empty fate. She told me she formed when I was a child. I thanked her for allowing me to talk with her, and I felt that she appreciated my visit. I was initially afraid that my dissociation would be reinforced throughout the exercise, but to my surprise at the end I didn't feel more dissociated, in fact I felt a bit more integrated. Your active imagination exercises are exceptional 🙏💚
This is great to hear Sylvie. Well done. You are doing the work and bravely facing what is difficult, and you deserve credit for that. Thank you for your engagement and you're welcome 🌟🔥
Hmm..Mine took place in the air with clouds (again, lol). Nothing appeared for a while, no symbol so I thought maybe it was the air or clouds that were the symbol. But then this black blob starting creeping up towards me. It was like one of those bubbles in the lava lamp so it was moving all the time. I asked it what he represented and he said stubborness to protect you. From what, I ask. It says "What is." I can see how the black blob represents stubborness. Being it's black, it absorbs all light. It didn't in the air. I mean, it was still black, but the sun was still present because the sky was blue. In a way, with the air and clouds as the background, I suppose this blob was saying you need to stop being so resistant to everything. But I didn't invite more traits of it in...I think I have too much as is. Thanks.
Hey SleepyLee, thanks for sharing this fascinating encounter. The element of air is associated with intellect and mental reasoning. However settings like this can also represent attempts to ‘rise above’ challenges. I remember from your previous experiences there were themes of daily life and something more ‘earthy.’ Perhaps this continues on a similar theme and the desire to move away from mundanity. The black colour represents unconscious content. It rising up from the earth to meet you seems to represent the inexorability of this encounter despite flying up away from it. Black is also hard to look at precisely because it doesn’t reflect much back. It seems to be reflecting back your very resistance to inviting it in. Whilst the resistance to it will have served you well for a time, I wonder what would happen if you continued to allow more of this black blob in. No doubt it contains great value as well as maybe some tension to be worked through. Well done for completing this exercise. Working with feeling voluntarily can be one of the more challenging aspects of shadow work.
@@makeitconscious Ah, thanks for your comment. May I ask...how do I allow the unknown in when resistance/challenging is such a integral part of my personality? I never intended to resist or challenge myself to prevent learning/growth but here I am lol. I think I know what it's like to go unprotected and not have any control that as I got older, I overdeveloped my challenging/resistance skills in order to protect others who were at a disadvantage. I'm not playing, I will stop heaven and earth to help a person who society is not hearing. They are important too and I'm not afraid of confrontation when it comes to that. But challenging/resistance to myself..that muscle is bulging...it's a whole other different ball game, lol.
Resistance is normal and to be expected. What previously worked for you, and became established as a way of being, ceases to work after some time. So it becomes necessary to encounter the energy of resistance. Releasing this is a gradual process and takes time. You are already making efforts to allow the unconscious in, however this is an ongoing process. Every moment you spend consciously suffering this tension is another unit of release. A large part of you is willing to do the work though, and it’s good that you recognise the resistance and its reasons for being there. In your case you feel very strongly about injustice, which is admirable to an extent. However you cannot solve every injustice, and in wanting to this could bring about a shadow dynamic where you unconsciously seek injustice. The real resistance might be to letting go of the need to fight injustice, rather than the external injustice. This is not to say you cannot do something about injustice, but to release one-sidedness. Can you reach a place where you are able to both address injustice and not address in justice and not have resistance either way? Sounds like you’ve already got some great insight into your pattern and that there’s treasure to be found in it once worked through. This too is an integral part of your personality, it just hasn’t been fully uncovered yet. I recommend doing the Conversation with the Shadow exercise and talking with the resistance to injustice, and/or the part of you that wants to be free of the need to fight injustice. Conversation with the Shadow - th-cam.com/video/yjwA4h-dg2k/w-d-xo.html I know you have done the Shadow Room exercise at least once, but that could also be another useful one for insight into this conflict. The Shadow Room - th-cam.com/video/sTh776BUbZk/w-d-xo.html You can also set your intention to release the tension and work through the resistance in daily life. I bet there will be interactions that appear which challenge you and prompt you to make a choice around injustice. Hope this helps :)
