The Jets signing a future Hall-of-Famer to an elite roster and getting him to sign a sweetheart deal only for him to get injured on the 4th play of the season is the most Jets thing that could have possibly happened.

Felt this way seeing the Niners in the NFC championship last year. Was looking forward to that game- it was such a good matchup. Too bad many Eagles fans were shitty about it… but Philly’s gunna Philly I guess. Obviously the two scenarios are different in a lot of ways as well I get that lol. But Anyone who wasn’t disappointed isn’t a true fan of football.
Btw, back in 2008, maybe 09, I went up to Buffalo to watch them play against the niners(I’m from CT, catching a niners game wasn’t easy unless I went to SF). Absolutely pathetic game, 3-0 niners lmao. Also was sleeting, so we just got wasted. But I had so so much fun with the Bills Mafia at the end of the game. Went crawling up this muddy steep hill just outside the stadium that a few of us tried to scale before sliding back down lmao. It was a good time. Wish all fans could be as fun as that.

Glass half full, if the injury was going to happen I guess the earlier the better. The Jets now have to figure out if Wilson can get mashed in to form with Rodgers playing the part of coach, or if they can possibly pull a solid veteran out of retirement. “It’s very common for people to say, ‘How do you run? Doesn’t that ruin your knees?’” says Steven Mayer, MD, a physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Northwestern Medicine Orthopaedics. “There have been several recent studies that have debunked that myth. In fact, they have shown the opposite - that running tends to be protective of knee arthritis.”
from the health Harvard: "The knees absorb a lot of force when running, so many people think that running itself can accelerate the natural wear and tear on the joints. But in fact, the medical research tends to show that running has a protective effect against arthritis. Studies of large numbers of men show that recreational runners have a lower risk of hip and knee arthritis. This effect is partly explained by the lower body weight of these men. Other studies that measure knee cartilage suggest that running may stimulate cartilage to grow, not wear it out."
Running with an injury, that's different. Of course someone should consult with their doctor. Or any joint disease. Like arthritis.

Running is ATROCIOUS on your feet and joints as you get in your 40’s and 50’s. You will end up having a hip and/or knee replaced sooner or later. The human body is not built to withstand constant pounding on its joints like running causes.
Yoga, walking, stretching, light weights are all MUCH better alternatives that running.

@MetalJT24 Often, when a person strains their Achilles, they look around like they got hit with a rock. With KD, you can see his calf just roll up to his knee. This one was tougher to catch. It is a non-contact injury where the Achilles just decides to disengage from the Calcaneus. Result: Season over

Ruptured mine two weeks ago. Just popped while cutting at soccer and went down. Made no sense for me, and I wasn't be tackled by a giant football player. Just felt like someone kicked me in the back of the leg.

Achilles tendons are usually damaged from excess tension during ankle flexion. Front of his cleat became stuck square under him, and too much weight was leveraged against the flexed ankle by the defender. (Basically, the defender's weight pressed Rodger's heel to the turf when it wasn't supposed to be able to.) Could have happened to anyone.

I have said this on Rich Eisen (RE) and other talk shows, Rodgers didn't look like he was seriously getting ready, unlike Tom Brady in his first season with the Bucs. Too many trips to Event such as Met Gala, Concerts, and other.
He will get injured but I didn't think it would be only after 4 snaps. I thought it would be after 4 games that he would be first injured. He would play his 60% for pride but won't lead the Jets anywhere.
Jets always proclaim outlandish things such as SB Contender and HoF QB before playing more than one season. It's like Karma or Mother Nature to always remind people to stay humble and keep your head down and perfect your craft.
That hit didn't even look too hard and brutal.

I call BS on the ruptured Achilles. He's standing there perfectly fine, then nonchalantly lays down on the ground, then walks off with a couple of trainers not even looking like he's in pain. Tell you what, no one with a ruptured Achilles walks off the field like that.

This is why Brady is considered the most durable QB in the history of the NFL. He did it for so long and still looked great when he was in his 40s. Yet, other QBs like Brees, Rodgers, Peyton and all others looked washed in their final years.

    • @Tainopisno1
      @Tainopisno1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Yea Brady was smart he just went down if he knew he was gonna get sacked, Brady didn't risk injury when he was playing all those 20 something yrs and he just got hurt in 1 yr in 1st game in 2008 against chiefs when player dived at his leg to to bring him down and he torn his acl and was out for the yr and they made it the Brady rule no diving at the qbs leg for a tackle.

Two years before Peyton's body gave out he had the greatest single season breaking multiple records. Also remember that he had not missed a start until the neck issue trying to break the record for consecutive starts. Brady on the other hand was out quite a few games over his career due to injury and cheating.
