    Appreciate the detailed video. I installed this on 2023 Rav4 XLE-P. It only took about 10 sec. to remove climate control module (the most worrisome part of the job!). Everything else was easy, including popping out the button. Total time it took for this install was about 6-7 minutes. Everything worked for me from the 1st try. Thanks!

    Glad I saw this video with the easier, less stuff to take apart/mar up/break way. Thanks.

    Thank you and an awsome video!! I have a brand new 2023 RAV4 and this feature is the worst part of this car. Okay it saves gas, well how much. When the starter dies there goes the savings!! I just ordered the little harness and can't wait for it to come. Thanks again for the video.

    Awesome, thanks for this. Just finished installing. On my 2 day old (to me) '21 Rav. Trickiest part was getting the switch to pop out. Had to talk dirtry to it. 😅 Mine worked on first fire up.

    Looks like I'm late to the game, here. Thanks so much for this video! I have been considering this, but was hesitant to tear into my center console like the directions on another vendor's site suggested. The trick of popping out the switch with the spudging tool is golden. Convinced me to order one from you affiliate link.
    One outstanding question - how did you get it to work? You kinda jumped ahead a week and it was working. Did it resolve itself? Did it just need to be off for a while to reset? Thanks!

      Yep, it worked fine the next day. The car just needed to be off for a few minutes and it was fine. Thanks for watching!

    I have watched other videos on this and you have to start the car right away, can't put in on the first or second click if you have a key and wait. Seems like the device sends out the signal pretty quickly after you turn the key and if you don't start the car it will not send out a second one. Also, if you turn the car off you have to wait a while before it will work a second time, not sure how long but if you try to start it up withing a a minute it will not work, it has to reset.

    I wonder if this will make the sensor mad? Faye Hadley a toyota technician here on TH-cam talks about this feature and says that the car counts how many times you start and stop, once it reaches the pre determined number the check engine light will come on or DTC and you have to replace the starter and 2 relays...

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No issues so far for me. I would think that this would help that situation since it would cut the number of stop start cycles way down.

    I was most interested in how you popped out the switch without taking the rest of the console apart like I seen other videos. So thanks for showing that. I also wonder if this will work on a 2023 RAV4 XLE Premium. I don't have it yet but hope in a few weeks then disabling this idiot feature will be priority. I make a lot of stops in city traffic and this I don't want it to be turning off the engine and such. Thanks again for the informative video.

      Wish I could say yes on the 2023 but I don’t have one to test it on. I suspect it would work but I can’t say for sure. Please let us know here in the comments if you test it out. 😉

      @@ProjectDIY2 I ordered the one you have. I think it will work, both are in the same generation.I don't have my RAV4 yet. It's built and waiting to be transported. I will let you know when I get it. shipping on the device is weeks away. I also looked in the customization section of the downloaded user manual, there was one customization of the start stop function (p. 521) but it's not for turning off the system. I was hoping they would allow that because so many owners hate it. Also there is a hood release sensor in the 2023 RAV4 because according to the user manual that is one of the things that disables the start stop function. When I get my RAV4 I'll look for it. I'm still going to install this device. I'm happy to know that switch pops out rather than tearing apart the bottom portion of the dash. Thanks again.

      @@moci42 No problem! One thing to note on the hood switch… one side effect of disabling the auto start stop by unhooking the hood switch is that it will complain all the time about the hood being opened. Good luck!

    • @moci42
      @moci42 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ProjectDIY2 probably a jumper wire in that hood plug would fool the system. When I get my car I'll check it out. These new vehicles are loaded with tech stuff, some good, some a PITA :)

      @@ProjectDIY2 I received the cable yesterday and installed it the same way you did and started the 2023 RAV4 up and the start stop light was on so I drove it and I didn't have to press the start stop button. So I stopped shut down the car and started back up again (same as you did) and the light was off, then I remembered that you had to leave it off for a couple minutes to let it reset and then it worked as advertised. Your TH-cam was very helpful, I didn't have to get into the rest of it, just the one panel then popped out the switch and installed the cable....Thanks a lot for the video it was really a big help.

    Hey! Hello from East Texas. My wife and I just got a new 2023 XLE Prem. Gas only. This auto stop start feature I ABSOLUTELY HATE! On my 2021 F150 Ford truck, Imjust took it back to the dealership and said, I have to have something done about this. They hooked up there computer to it, disabled it, and the rest is history. I did the same thing at our dealership, and was told that corporate would not allow them to do that. So here I am. I am not finding anything that looks remotely like it will work except these that you used. My question is, now that you have been using it for awhile, is it still working, and has it created any side problems. Thank you for the great video. I liked the way you showed and explained it. Murray B.

      Thank you for the kind words! It’s still working great! The only issue I have is if I shut the car off and don’t wait at least 30 seconds before starting it again, the start/stop doesn’t turn off. Happens very rarely though.

    para evitar gastar en ese tipo de accesorios solo es necesario desconectar la espiga de la cerradura del capo, ya que al no tener ese requisito, no se activa ese sistema.
