What a beautiful video...thank you! Opens my heart with amazement, grief, and connectedness. May you and all the souls that have moved on bee 🐝 safe, peaceful, and free from suffering
Very efficient structure, so many common parts arranged in pattern of four and using the lattice panels. The freestanding "hand" sculpture is probably the most complex part of it.
Pretty darned amazing. But every year I ask myself if this is appropriate? There is nothing natural about Burning Man at all. It seems to be a matter of human competition. How is this any better than the horror of capitalism and resulting competition for pride and the almighty dollar?
The issue is widespread CHRONIC DAILY CO2 emissions, not an acute once-a-year fire with wood that absorbed CO2 from the modern atmosphere to begin with.
@@chirstophersjohnson whatever, hypocrites abound. The original"Man" was a small pile of driftwood meant to symbolize a relationship that was gone. Now it's a full on Roman orgy of wealth and privilege. look at the fees, the giant RV's, the excess. Like they really need to burn that much wood.
@@redjetsen1002 that is indeed the superficial press take on it these days. Some comes from the moralizing right and some comes from the armchair tsk-tsking left. That shallower aspect of the event you mention is in the minority, as you would see if you actually participated and fell into a relationship with a camp there. I've seen more internal ecological psychological growth happen in people there than in a big green fundraiser. I hope you can get out of your own chair and find your own authentic interaction and expereince. And on CO2 footprint, I'd compare to Christmas or Thanksgiving any day. People need their acute, temporary, ritual and connectedness. Le'ts handle greenhouse gasses at the big sources that matter.

Expenses:
Renting desert
Create a competition of art installations and art cars
Portapottys
All those eco warriors, dropping mass quantities of...
CO2 into the air along with dropping a few hits of acid

@@chirstophersjohnson sorry I hit a nerve, get back in the dentist chair.
Remember on Happy Days, the tv show, when Fonzie jumped the shark? Prophetic statement…
