Great review Rider. Still incredible shooting!!
Once again, thanks for watching and commenting.
That was always about my only complaint about the Hi-Powers. That the thumb safety was small and very stiff.
Never shot one of the SA-35s. I intended to add one to the collection a couple of months ago, but they had a pretty nice 1969 Hi-Power there and that one ended up going home with me instead of the Springfield.
That WWII Hi-Power looks to be in really nice condition. Have one myself also in pretty good shape except that somewhere along the way the grips and mag have been changed.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice review, I don’t like the small beaver tail, no sense getting beat up if I can avoid😎
I agree. Thanks for watching.
I should geta hi power and tune it up
You should. Thanks for watching.
8 inch at 50 was like the 6 inch at 50 we shot at the other day
Sometimes those plates can be quite elusive.
I really don't like or get the U notch thing.
In theory, finding a round front sight (big dot, night sight, fiber optic rod) is quicker with a U-notch rear sight, therefore "better" for close combat. However, it is more difficult - again, in theory - to get precise sight alignment for precision accuracy. But I'm with you - I much prefer the right angles of a conventional rear sight. Thanks for watching.
Nice video. I’ve been curious about these new Hi-Powers. I think EAA made one too. I shot the new FN one and didn’t care for it. I kept engaging the safety on recoil while shooting it.
As to classic Hi-Powers, my favorite one I’ve ever fired was a Belgian version in .40. It had adjustable target sights on it. Fantastic gun.
The "new" FN High Power (notice the different spelling from the original Browning/FN Hi-Power) is a well-made, accurate and reliable gun with a great trigger. It's great for those who have never shot a good example of a 1980s Hi-Power. But for those who have, the "new" High Power is a totally different gun, not at all like the original. I believe I mentioned that in my video review of the FBN High Power last fall. As to engaging the safety when shooting, that's why I teach shooting any handgun that has a manual frame-mounted safety to ride the safety with the thumb when shooting. Once again, thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for your video. I have never held or shot a original or sa-35. Could not get a military discounted sa-35 thru a Mi military discount rep quickly (waited over 6 months). Came across a new version fn high power and picked it up. Installed g10 grips and a front night sight. I am one of the few who actually like this handgun.
Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts.
I like the FN new version but I haven't purchased it as yet.
If you have never shot a good 1980's Hi-Power, the new FN High Power is a very nice gun. But there is just something about a classic Browning Hi-Power that feels soooo good in the hand. As always, thank you for watching.
which one do i want???all of them!
Ahhh....so many guns, so little money. Thanks for watching.
