I followed that strategy the first time. Farm everything I could and then run into the storm. I finished the renown track in less than a week. I'll do the same this time
When the go-to strat is to disassociate, we have a bigger problem. I'm personally skipping it this time around. Dont take me wrong im not against the plunderstorm, im glad Blizz is trying to reach a bigger audiences and all, its just not for everyone
Disagree actually, people have a lot of fun with it. I'm talking to the people who dont like plunderstorm gameplay and running a parallel with something were more familiar with in wow
Only people who don’t like it generally don’t PvP in games. Anyone who plays PvP has loved it. & the fact there’s a way to “disassociate “ & still get all rewards should be looked at as positive. Linking the rewards to in game wow is kinda dumb tho should be F2P to reach the proper audience
Ugh, I was so hoping last time was a one and done thing. Turns out I dislike FOMO even more than PvP and that's saying something! Gather as much as I can, run into the storm at the first sign of human to human interaction, lather, rinse, repeat. Worked last time well enough to get all the things. Here's to hoping it still works :)
Quick and Easy Plunder. Do your round requirement. (Kill 3 elites, kill 10 mobs, open 2 chests or collect 30 plunder) Then just kill mobs and collect plunder. Dont worry about killing players unless you notice they are low on HP.
The strategy I followed was to complete the quests, check any viable target close to you, then die. Reque again and repeat. The best places to farm were castles, fortress and always land on an elite.
Did everything first time around for the mount. After I had a ton of loot I ran into the storm every time. I didn't want anyone else plundering my loot. Worst part of Plunder storm are those players that are just there to kill you as soon as you land. They don't seem to care about anything else. Had one dude chase me all over the map for like 5 minutes. I wish they would implement something to discourage the instant kill immediately as soon as you land. Like a giant ghost pirate comes and hacks off their head.
I remember people insisting that wasn't happening, or claiming people were mad that pvp happened, getting told 'you don't have to play it', or the eternal favorite insistence to 'git gud'. Of course each of those types would get livid over anyone running to embrace the storm.
Yeah people who attack you immediately are just bad gamers. Either they’re griefing or they have no idea how the game works. Your only real option is to run and grab as much loot as you can, hope they get bored. Win or lose, if you stay and fight you lose the game because you’re not getting plunder while everyone else around you, is.
@@Scuuurbs How does the game work then? I haven't played Plunderstorm before, but isn't it just a battle royale? I would guess the whole point is killing people.
@ you almost never want to kill people immediately in a battle royale, because you are wasting valuable time trying to take out someone who has nothing worth looting. Meanwhile your competition is looting and getting stronger than you. The only time it's a good idea is if you know there's something at that location worth fighting for, which will give you an immediate strong advantage, or if you get a surprise attack and essentially gank them so it doesn't waste time. In Plunderstorm especially you don't want to kill right away, because each match gives you a quest to complete that rewards a lot of currency. You're better off completing that quest ASAP. By the time you finish it, people should have loot and be worth fighting against.
Doesn't matter. Need 30 teams for the match to start. If it's less crowded you'll have to wait longer. Right now it's always busy with nearly an insta join everytime.
I HATED the first plunderstorm so I know I'm gonna hate this 2nd one... but hey.. like you said.. what's the point of bitching? Even though of us (like me) that hate it, are still gonna do it... lol. Just gotta turn the ol' brain off and do it until it drives you insane.
@@grimetone I can't speak for others just me, and the only answer I have for you is "The transmog stuff is locked behind this event. So it's either suffer through it to get said stuff, or don't and miss out". I want the transmog, therefor I have to do it.
I've heard they will be in different colors, and the Plunder's currency will not vanish when the event is over. So we will be able to accumulate Plunder every time we have a season of Plunderstorm. Let's see!
Plunderstorm characters are not real characters. What you are looking for is time running and that's not coming soon. Time running Legion will be at the end of the expansion.
Not in the early game, no. The time you spend fighting someone is better spent killing elites and opening chests - more plunder, more ability drops. If you attack someone early, you’re just nerfing yourself because your competition spent the same amount of time getting stronger than you. After like 3-5 minutes, sure. The people you run into will probably have enough loot on them to make it worth it. If it’s like last time, though, the fastest way to get plunder is to get loot at the start and then quit once you complete your quest. You get more plunder/hour by joining a new match than by sticking around & trying to win.
@@Scuuurbshow odd you have to do PvP in a PvP mode to get rewards. Let’s give mythic raiding mounts out for completing a Battleground 100 times at this point
@@Killerrrb lol they already give away mythic raid mounts at a 1 in 100 drop rate. Every other pvp activity gives pvp currency and unlocks pvp-themed rewards. Dude wants to play matches where players are more willing to pvp with him. Easiest way to make that happen is to change the rewards to no longer be attractive for pve players. Also the FOMO is an issue. People want to grind out the rewards asap and winning isn’t the fastest way to farm. So, players aren’t incentivized to participate.
@ regardless being sad about missing out on a PvP mount if you DONT PvP is fucking ridiculous lmao. Same if you don’t get that 1 in 100 drop rate. Same with titles? Like any reward being tied to certain game play is completely fine. Those who don’t like battle royale should be happy they can mindlessly grind plunder. Instead of actually having to be decent or win a game lol.
@@Killerrrb you’re getting sidetracked lol. The point is, fomo rewards that both pve and pvp players want means people are more likely to mindlessly grind instead of actually play the mode. OP wants people to play, not farm. I’m just giving suggestions on the easiest way to make what he wants, happen.
That was basically my Plunderstorm MO last time - grab cash and run from other players. If you wanna kill me I'll waste your time making you chase me. How do you always land in the same spot though? I didn't always spawn at the same spot in the sky.
Just don't play the game at that point. I generally like your takes Soul, but this is a very toxic take imo. If someone really hates plunderstorm that much to where they don't even interact with the intended game design then just don't play it.
Unfortunately it's a toxic game mode. If it was just for PvP then fine, but they added cosmetics (and are this time too), so now people who don't PvP will do it too.
yeah absolute clownery. I really wish you would have to actually try to win to earn good plunder but roleplayers need their transmog they'll never use and just go catatonic if you try to fight them, or just suicide into the storm.

Nr1 tip: Wait until they announce double exp - grind rewards. never touch it again.
It should be good from the start since they already tweaked it from last time, but even still I’m gonna wait a week to see if they hotfix anything.
Did it for myself, then helped my daughter and son finish theirs. I have ptsd and the very word 'plunderstorm' makes me want to hide.

First impressions, game mode seems abysmal. Controls feel backward, nothing is intuitive and keybinds make no sense
Yeah having to press keys with the numbers 1,2 3 and 4 is too complicated and alot of work. I don't like it at all.

How do we link our Bnet account to twitch to get the cosmetic ?
got it rush the one piece and don't walk the plank till you want or need too, got it

Plunderstorm characters are all level 1 and they reset back to level 1 every round.
Just give me those 5 mounts from plunderstorm and no one gets hurt
You can get them insanely fast if you don't worry about pvping. You can easy get 5k plunder for a mount in 1-2 hours max.
Fighting with other players and picking their coins, trying to win isn't best way to farm?
