Here is a glimpse of Downtown Newnan! Many out of state buyers are wondering what is it really like living in Newnan, is it a safe place to raise a family, how are the schools, what about jobs, and so many other questions I get on a regular basis. So today I will give you a quick tour of Downtown Newnan Square. There are so many other things to see and do here, but I can't fit it all in one video. So if you want to see more make sure to subscribe! Let me know what else you want to know more about the area in the comments below and I will be happy to make a video on it!

I lived there for 8 years in the 80' and early 90's. I wouldn't recognize it today other than the old courthouse. I noticed they took down the confederate soldier statue. If you want to know more about this town back then, listen to Alan Jackson's song, "Where I Come From." It's a tour of the town. By the way, it's always been called "Court Square."

Hi Susan, I would love to see some photos of Newnan from the 80' or '90s! I have lived in Newnan for over 9 years now and I have seen the city change a lot ever since I moved here. The whole area is really growing fast and with growth, there are some pains as well. I personally am big on history and to me, history is there for us to help us avoid the mistakes of the past and better ourselves in the future. So erasing history is basically erasing your memory. Where did you move to when you left Newnan?

@@vickybryant My husband was the physical therapist at the old Newnan Hospital for 11 years. Anyone over 60 may remember him as he treated a good portion of the community. He became a physician. We left Newnan because of his training and settled in Deep South Texas over 20 years ago. Back then, everyone pretty much knew each other. It was a good life. We enjoyed it. It appears it's become "anywhere USA" which I suppose is progress. We lived on Mulberry St on the southwest side. If you want to continue this conversation, let me know how to contact you directly.

Vicky, I've been to Newnan twice to tour Alan Jackson's hometown . But the Bad news is that the Man himself wasn't there.
