I have planning to use separate mono blocks for HF & LF on the 30th or -40th anniversary. I see that there are only one set of speakers terminals on the XD version. Interested in your thoughts
It looks like Harbeth have kept the original 310mm long port, but have changed the airflow by lining the port with 10mm thick foam [guesstimated] and place a foam bug at the very end of the port inside the cabinet. I'm thinking this change in airflow from the port would account to most of the reported tighter bass over previous models.....apart from the crossover changes.

Not only have Harbeth partially line the ports, but they have used two different densities of foam [ which was news to me], I'll link you to the forum where the photos are posted. it will be on P3 of the thread. Hi there ^^ ProAc D48r? is a somewhat different league bigger volume and response range, that will require bigger room, stronger amplifier, and more in tuned skill too :)

Among 3 you are considering, Spendor Classic 100 looks the best to sound attractive and smoothly textured. Very romantic it will be when you like this sort of style. And Fine F702 will be the next it will sound more straightforward, clear, and sturdy though rather than Spendor. Again, ProAc D48r needs enough power and not a good match with 590 ^^
@@georgekoutromanos112 For me? there'll be some recommendable matches. My likeness goes for Tannoy recent GR and Heritage first. And Harbeth Compact ones too ^^

Do you prefer Harbeth M30.2 xd or shl5 plus xd? Which one is best for rock music?
SHL5 is supposed to have wider performance range~ however both are not intended for rocking ^^ not the best for rock music I mean
