- Two amazing camping spots in two weeks. Brilliant! I'm a slow editor, so this was from about three weeks ago. Next vlog we'll talk about how I ended up in a motel for a few days last week and tried to get my dang bed level! :) I hope ya'll are doing well! ❤️

Hey Girl, us solo Lady campers must ALWAYS trust our gut camping in in Northern California. I’ve had bears walk into camp before. I’m waaaaay too oblivious to camp without my dog 🤣❤️❤️. Take care of You out there! I’d love to come keep you company some weekend ☺️💯
U should get one of those loud sounding horns to have in case a bear come close ... Hopefully U can sound the horn and they will go xx

Birdie, start setting out 2 camp chairs so people do not assume you are alone.
I live alone so I told the neighbors son he could park his car in my driveway. It fits 2 cars with ample room leftover, and I thought it would make it look like 2 people live here.

@@WaywardAbodeoh girl, if you were closer, I would gift you as many chairs as you need. I have so many collected. Yes! Absolutely hit up a thrift store for a chair AND the biggest pair of beat up men’s sneakers or boots you can find cheap and set them by either the chair or your door. 😉

Definitely a dragon lair!
Wet a hand towel. Place around your neck. When it gets warm, simply remove and whip around in the air and replace. It’ll help with the heat

EBL sent me a charging station last fall and I LOVE it!!! I have literally used it everyday. It has been our only power source living off grid for months and it’s still going strong 😁

Birdie, the best places are going to be those so remote that there is no cell service. Just remember that we grew up without it. 30 years ago Iused togo solo backpacking in the mountains...with no cell. Don't let fear of no cell limit your locations.
Bad advice. That was 30 years ago, my friend. Please, don't isolate yourself without having a phone.
Its too bad you think its bad advice to not live in fear and to live like people have lived for the last 6000 years...without cell service. Its not a big deal.

Ultimately I do agree with you that I shouldn't let that keep me from the best places all of the time. And I think sometimes I will stay places without cell service if it means an experience I can't get somewhere else. But my daughter will worry so much if I can't stay in touch with her. So for her, I'll usually opt to be somewhere we can text. But I definitely see what you're saying. :)

So great to see your bright smile and sweet self again, Birdie!😊 I just love how you view your surroundings through a whimsical, fanciful lens... Where most would simply see craggy rocks and pine needle-strewn forest floors, you tend to see dragon lairs & Griffin nests, etc.; I'm the same way, lol and I love that gift!🥰
For what it's worth, I'd like to just suggest that you really listen to whatever your gut is telling you, about a place, a person, a situation.. I truly believe that our "citified" 21st C. conscious mind doesn't always pick up on subtle warning signs around us the way that our primal subconscious might be.😉
So, when some..thing is making you uneasy at all, even if you can't really pinpoint an obvious cause for concern, Please listen to your "gut" and follow the course of "better safe than sorry"! Esp. in some of these pretty remote, out of the way places.. I worry less for you with regard to an animal attack (tho I worry about that too where you're concerned; I'm a worry wort, what can I say, lol!) than I do if you were to happen upon the "wrong" person! I just really care about you, Birdie; we All do! And we just want you to stay safe while you're exploring and experiencing this time in your life. God bless you and thank you for being so open, caring and taking all of us along with you on your daily adventures!😉😘💗

Silly Birdie../ it was the dragon making that noise 🐲. I am so thankful you had a good experience at that last campsite.
At one park I visited there kept being people who pull up to this one spot and hang there then move on…. It took me almost six months of watching and finally asked… Pokemon stop 😂😂😂. I doubt that remote spot is a Pokémon stop but there is usually a reason for the pattern of behavior. Maybe it’s a spot that has service and they stop to use it before moving in to a location that doesn’t. Connect then move on out. Take care. Be safe!
I thought that all those stoppers had maybe made arrangements to meet up and camp there, but Birdie had just got there first! Some folks find a cool spot to hang out, and after doing so a few times, begin to think of it as 'their' spot, and are surprised to find someone else there! (Duh! Public Land, Bro!!) Glad they didn't harass you, though!
The dragon!! And that's why you couldn't hear it on the video cause they're magic! It all makes sense now!! lol. And I bet you're totally right about those folks stopping. If I go back, I'm gonna ask them next time. Just so curious! But I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was cell service. That's makes perfect sense.
ohh aw birdie!!! I was also bit by our family Rottweiler in the face at age 13-14 and needed plastic surgery. I was kissing him and laying near him like I often would and he was growling and the younger version of me did not back off... he was older and had bad hips. I to this day love dogs sooo much and my fear has completely left. My rescue girl is the sweetest yet fearful lover in the world and it has been such a blessing to watch her heal long side my own healing.

I know what you mean about feeling anxious all the time and not feeling like you can trust yourself whether or not the threat is real -it’s exhausting. The good thing I can say is that if you work on it whether it’s therapy books videos whatever however you choose to do it whatever works best for you but if you actively working on it in time it can get better it is better for me now and I trust myself when I get that bad vibe. Not perfectly , sometimes I still Vacillate, but I would say a good 90% of the time I don’t question myself anymore if I feel bad I get out
I have a few acres in the forest and I love to watch the deer gather together on our dirt road. They also come right up to our back deck.

Hi Birdie, that’s a beautiful spot. Strange about the Labrador, especially if you couldn’t see anyone with it. Might have wandered off from its people. Hope it will be okay. When I was a child, I tried to pick up a fully grown lab & it bit me on the stomach. Luckily it didn’t turn me off dogs though.
That constant feeling of anxiety that you have, I think, is perfectly normal, given that you haven’t done a lot of remote camping. As you do more of it, you’ll start to relax more, but you’ll also still remain alert to your surroundings.
I’d be more worried if you had a totally laid back, nothing to fear here kind of attitude. Healthy to have a bit of both going on.
It’s nearly 5.30am here, been awake all night. I love your video, but I haven’t got the mental energy to finish it right now.
No sleep though, just going to close my eyes & relax for awhile.

Birdie! In case nobody has mentioned it, a Garmin InReach mini is a wonderful tool to have if you plan to spend a good amount of time on logging/backroads/BLM. The device is an investment, but the service is quite reasonably priced. I have one from my backpacking days. Be Safe and happy adventuring!

Hi and thank you! Yes, my daughter has another year of high school and she hasn't really decided what she wants to do next. She is working part time as a tutor, but doesn't really think she'll pursue that as a career. She does like baking and may do that. I just want her to be happy; so whatever she chooses, as long as she's happy, she's won, in my opinion. :)
