I feel sorry for that Black Metal Idol guy. He didn't even sound bad, even though he couldn't do more than a handful of words in one go before his voice completly failed him. But those shows are all about appealing to the mainstream, and if you obviously can't do that, there is only one reason why you will be allowed on stage: to make fun of you.
Maybe he just wanted to be on tv and knew his act would be shown ?

I’m 38 and I’ve listened to metal/black metal almost my entire life. I’ve never been arrested and I have a college degree and I make a really good living, the point of me saying this is that metal music or horror movies or violent video games doesn’t make people commit crimes or act violent to anyone. We lead normal lives just like you Nickelback fans.

Spot on. I'm forty-eight now and remember clearly when Columbine happened. I fit the profile to a tee. I owned a trench coat. I wear/wore all black most of the time. I have access to guns (my family actually owns a gun store). I was an outcast and, though I never really got really bullied and got along with everyone, I didn't really have many friends - and the ones I had were the outcasts too.
I am the mold for that person. But you know what, I cannot fathom those actions. I am empathetic to a fault. People don't understand that most metalheads like the music for its complexity - they find pop and most other forms of music boring and many listen to classical music too.
Can’t forget that episode of the show “Bones” which featured a case involving a black metal band called Spew
Or on Veep when Jonah and Richard went overseas for election supervision and went out on the town the night before to - unwittingly - see Panzer Division.
I remember that episode. They used the bones of a murder victim for stage decoration if I remember correctly.

Satirycon is hot; especially the vocalist😍 European countries are more open minded about metal than here in the United States. The United States are so into pushing hip-hop, r&b and pop they're missing out on of a lot of other genres.

While I don't personally listen to black metal, I respect it for what it is....and that's exactly what that rude ass reporter should have done in the last video. That was totally out of line and I have all the respect in the world for the guy who said "never" for being the mature one and taking the high road in that scenario

By Black Metal going into the more mainstream public, more people could end up appreciating the genre for what it is, and what if someone who's stuck listening to Justin Bieber for all eternity just happens to hear some Mayhem and it saves him from his curse of listening to trash pop? Just a thought...
But to be honest, every time metal has become popular, it ends up becoming cringe until it goes back out of the spotlight for a while. I grew up in the 80s listening to good metal and watching the scene deteriorate.
Glam, nu metal, goth, Metallica, etc.

@@skk7593 I'm just trying to say that people are overexaggurating how bad the movie Lords of Chaos is, infact it's become my favorite movie, because it IS A MOVIE. NOT a documentary, things are meant to be changed up a little otherwise nothing would be interesting, how about the enigma code should they have just made that a documentary instead of the great acting? No! It was a great movie because of the added things, and that's why Lords of Chaos really is a good one and not a terrible movie after all.

I remember this TV commercial. I forget what it was advertising, but it showed this black metal band on tour in their hotel room, and their manager is scolding them for their tame lifestyle, schleping their golf clubs through the airport, ruining their reputation. He throws the vase of flowers on the floor and stomps out, and the singer starts to clean it up.

I wish it went mainstream a lot more often. Even though at times it can sound depressing and or emotional, black metal can also sound very funny. Take Dimmu Borgir's Council Of Wolves and Snakes song for example. It's funny and enjoyable, like a story.

Maybe because Watain have a sound and aesthetics of their own that overlap the boundaries of BM as we know it and fire up the imaginative memories of BM as it were. When put together, both reality and that arcane projection, they gel into something unique. Maybe I'm not their biggest fan, I own more lps by the Almighty ARMAGEDDA, but still against facts there are no arguments, unless you're Joe Obiden...(not you, of course, that's just twisted rhetoric...)
