I am obsessed with South African music and just South African Choirs. The music just brings peace calm and joy to me for some reason. I don’t understand a word but love this music and culture. Love from a Gambian American.
I am in America. I love the great beauty of South African Choral praise and traditional songs. This is one of my favorites that often comes unbidden to mind. I can’t seem to get enough of it.
It means more to me that I didn't understand the language and just listened to the beautiful voices and people singing over and over. There is something about the South African languages that captures emotions so magnificently. "Release us that we may leave, Homes are far away". So beautiful.
Direct translation: lovely people, please give us the way (may we leave). Home is far, the sun has set. It is late cuz and the sun has set, stand up and let's go. I hope this gives you some light
Sing South Africa sing🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦!!!!! These are true South Africans... I'm proud of you boys and girls... 👏👏👏👏👏Listening to this over and over @Uganda....I really miss home😥😥
I hope stupid politicians don't destroy South Africa. I'm from Zimbabwe so I know what I'm talking about. SA is rich culturally. This has to be protected.
South African Diversity. Just reminded of Oost-Eind Lerskool choir I was in Condected by Miss Vly then 2000-2005 till I left. She continued for the next Generations still!!!
❤reminds me of my primary school says, the lead singer, so talented and still humble and doubts, the folding of the arms while belting out smooth notes. Is a sign of an African child who is shy and doubts that they belong.
This song is just too amazing, the choir makes it sound even more amazing. The talent in this country of ours is beyond me!! Love, love, love this choir
@christinanxumalo6811 I was in my second year when I posted that comment. I recently completed my second post-graduate qualification, and I'm working. I'll be celebrating three years of motherhood next week 🩷
Brothers and sisters, I don't even know much about the anthropological connotations of this song.....yet I keep gravitating back to this stonking version of 'Bathandwa besceli Indlela', year in year out. This choir gave the song such a timeless vibe 🔥🏆✅💃....koloi kaembe, koloi gatamaya...🚋🚂🛤️🎶💪
One of the few moments where i absolutely have no problem with people refering to BW🇧🇼 as a province of SA🇿🇦😁...in that case 'im proud of our very own" talent😭👏👏
The Insomnia of 12 April 2022 led me to this breathtaking video.... I don't know how I feel right now.... Drowning in Goosebumps and mixed feelings ....This kind of music lives in me... I sang all these songs back in primary and high school and now beautiful memories just keep unfolding😍🙌. May the almighty God bless you all ❤️I'm proudly South African👑
I don't know how many times I have rewatched this. I miss choir so much! It's 15 July 2021,South Africa is literally on fire as we speak. Who knows if we gonna make it out but this is the SA I wanna remember and love, no matter what happens.
Struggling to sleep, because sleeping patterns are all over the place because of Lockdown in SA, and have been watching this on repeat - just amazing 😍😭❤️

This is beautiful! I'm addicted to South African music. It don't even matter whether I understand the lyrics or not. I can feel the spirit.
I guess it's why we say that music is UniVersal, Uni=One and Verse=Song... It speaks all languages, word 'em up 👆🏿
