It’s been 11 years since I left home. I still remember that day like it was yesterday-my dad chasing me out in anger. (He loves me, though. He always has.) But that moment shaped me. It pushed me into a world where I had to figure things out on my own, to trust God in ways I never thought possible. And now, in 2025, I’m at a crossroads. True 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 is blessed. From our older generation until the present generation this gift of music was also there and dancing. We thank God that our great parents and parents made a covenant with God.
Just heavenly.. In South Africa and indeed in other Southern African countries.. When we were under Apartheid all we had that Apartheid Regimes deeply feared, saw and felt as a powerful weapon and threat was our homonzing song and dance... There is something in our African ancient spirituality that has survived, even when they forcefully converted us to some of today's substandard isms and systems or Colonial religions.. They could not takeaway our ancient spiritual songs and dance we took them with us into their forced religions and in a way decolonised that space.. How could evil not feel threatened and tremble at such purety of spirit and these heavenly vioces?..during protests, work it just took one person to begin singing and the rest followed.. No problem if one don't know the song just follow the lead singer and make it up as we went along..❤🎉
There is something about south African songs .. they hit differently to the heart.. i wish i got the meaning/translation for this song.... Get love from Kenya

oh I think you are referring to the part where he says "kwami". Kwami in this contexts means beside me. But the way he sings it he he does prounce it like " kwame. Which is incorrect. Beautiful song nevertheless. ❤ and Greetings to you.❤
I'm a South African who's in China right now, with corona virus and being this far away from home not knowing what might happen to me I always find my comfort in this song and it brings me hope and Faith that I will go back home in one piece and rejoice with my family and friends by Gods grace
Lona, with Jesus stripes you are healed. This too shall pass, hang in there, His promises are true. He gave us power to temple over snakes and scorpions. With the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, it is the same power that will end this virus and its symptoms.
I'm Nigeria and randomly seeing after searching for SA gospel. I have an obsession with Bawo now. Blessing my night. Beautiful. finding the translation from the comment section. God bless

To the 1% of readers who will find this, GOD loves you.
I’ve been replaying it over and over since 6am, and now it’s 1:45pm… I don’t even know where the time went. It feels like I transcended into a realm I can’t put into words.
As an emerging filmmaker with just three years in the industry, all I can say is this: God has been faithful. Truly faithful.
I think back to the early days when my dad would look me in the eye and ask, “Is this what you’re going to make a living with? How do you plan to do it?” The truth is, I didn’t have answers. I still don’t. Making a living was never my focus. For me, it’s always been about pouring every ounce of my soul into what I do. Whether or not it paid, I gave it my all. That’s just who I am.
I’m going to be 30 this year, and I find myself leaning on God more than ever before. If He doesn’t help me, I know I’m doomed. Everything I’ve ever had-every opportunity, every bit of success-it’s all come from a place of grace and gratitude.
This year isn’t just about what I can achieve. It’s about surrendering, trusting, and knowing that even when I don’t have answers, He does. That’s the only way I’ve made it this far, and that’s the only way I’ll keep going.
And somehow, I believe. I trust. I know that not far from now, I’ll look back at this moment, read these comment, and marvel at how God made a way where everyone thought it was impossible.
This is not the end; it’s only the beginning of something beyond my wildest dreams.

I'm a Kenyan and I believe South Africans will be the leaders of praise and worship in Heaven...🎉🎉🎉❤❤
There is something in our African ancient spirituality that has survived, even when they forcefully converted us to some of today's substandard isms and systems or
Colonial religions..

It's a gratitude praise song, thanking God for always being next to me and keeping me. 🙏🏿🕯️😊
I think it can be translated as
"Father, father, father
I say thank you so much
You have covered me"
Abba father thank you
Thank you for translating 🙏

Love from Ghana. My name is Kwame. I'm glad it means something in South African language. In Ghanaian language it means boy born on a Saturday. 😊
oh I think you are referring to the part where he says "kwami". Kwami in this contexts means beside me.
But the way he sings it he he does prounce it like " kwame.
Which is incorrect.
Beautiful song nevertheless. ❤ and Greetings to you.❤

Lona, with Jesus stripes you are healed. This too shall pass, hang in there, His promises are true. He gave us power to temple over snakes and scorpions. With the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, it is the same power that will end this virus and its symptoms.

Well done on your action.
This song is about thanking God that He projects us. The song asks God not to leave an individuals' side.
So, your spirit is in the right place regarding the song and what you have done.
Love from SA.
Good to hear, apologizing doesn’t take anything away it adds to you.
