Because the game wasn't developed for 3rd person. I'm guessing 3rd person is only viable outside of combat, for cosmetics sake

Because the game was specifically made for first person and that’s the preferred way to play.
You can play it in 3rd person mode he whole way through but it’s probably not gonna look as polished/good as the first person animations
