Thanks for making these videos. I ordered the stuff to do my roof raise, thanks for showing the hat channels I didn’t know you could buy those. I’ll be starting my raise in a few weeks.
We raised it 1.5 feet, not 2 feet. If you raise it 4 feet, it will be illegal since most states have a vehicle height limit of 13.5 feet. Also, you will hit many bridges when you drive under them. Well, you will hit one bridge and the skoolie would be done :)
@@WideAwakeTravels didn’t realize how tall it was and I guessed on the amount you raised it so that makes sense but why raise it ? Is it for storage or just headroom ?
@@davekimbler2308 both. One of us is 6 feet tall and the head was almost touching the ceiling. It would touch it once we add insulation on the ceiling and the actual ceiling like tongue and groove. With the raise we have more head room and it doesn't feel claustrophobic. Also, we have more storage space. There isn't much room for storage underneath the bus. Gray water tank will take up all the space between the tires on the left side of the bus, fuel tank is between the tires on the right side of the bus. There is some room behind the rear tire on the left, and the propane tank will go there.
Looking good! Can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you. Next one will be in about a week hopefully

@@kyleholmes7459 awesome and good luck. You are welcome. Feel free to ask any questions if you have during your raise
What’s the reason for only raising it 2ft ? If you went 4ft you could have a 2 level bus !
