Did this once solo years ago, had to go halfway across the map to Reaper's on a rowboat to get paid due to my ship getting krakened and my crewmates rage quitting or something at the start of the ink fight. I nabbed a Reaper's chest from a disconnected ship after finishing a guilded quest with randoms who were surprisingly reliable. We were heading to turn in our well earned bounty and were tired from the PvPvE when the kraken came up without a noise. My crewmates dc'd as soon as it came so I had no choice but to abandon ship since I could never best it solo. I put it all the loot on a harpoonless rowboat and went off as I saw my DC'd captain's ship sink. I rowed for what felt like hours as the sea tides were against me. I never encountered other players or enemies other than the sharks after the kraken sank the ship (which surprises me still) and after navigating with a sea of thieves map pulled up on my phone I got to turn in my loot. Literally every time I went to do a chill holiday guilded quest with my buddies I get krakened and lose it all. Except for this one time... To this day I boast about it and how I felt like Jack Sparrow afterwards. Never carried a big haul ever again with randoms or with anyone. cause out of everything in sea of thieves including the players the kraken is what I hate the most with a burning passion.

(Probally more likely to use the harpoon as u can literally steal chests in the open on a boat if it reaches far enough and stay hidden say behind the boats.) The honest to god hard working grindset of the person i am, i can see tons of fun wasting some hours doing this.
