    Love hearing Kevin Lamb bring his knowledge. imo the video works best when the cohost lays back and doesn’t interrupt Kevin.

    It's a stunning synth. A true work art. Whether I can ever justify the purchase, I don't know - but I have to hand it to Moog, they've produced something of beauty and awe...

    I get it all done using my Moog Voyager as a controller for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2.5. It makes my Voyager polyphonic and the sounds are more immediately usable for production etc. So I'm good. It's nice that Moog brought back the Polymoog.

    "it's a performance instrument" for me says it all. I love the way moog thinks about synths. the depth in this synth is just so beyond anyone's wildest dreams. Thank you Moog!

    Finally a Moog that can do more than leads and sequences....a Moog for a composer who orchestrates. Other Moog's have great stage presence for keyboard players, and wonderful sound in the studio but I buy synths that are polyphonic because I compose complete songs, I need polyphony to orchestrate. Why is this poly synth different from all the others today? Moog has the most musical sound ever created in the history of the world from electronics.

      I agree, Oberheim was just as great and Yamaha Had the fantastic Cs-80. This synth however is perhaps the greatest of all time!

    Ordered 16 voice on 10/1 and these demos confirm I made the correct decision. Such a superb instrument. I really wish the Moog rep stopped talking over the sounds though. Please make a no talking sound demo!

    Actually similarly the MatrixBrute has two filters (one Moog-like ladder filter and one Steiner-Parker filter) that can either be in parallel or serial.

    For anyone who complains about the sound of this thing (especially the bass) , just use your ears because you can hear that it’s a direct out from the Moog One combined with the vocal mics on their shirt that are picking up the sound from the speaker in their room. Watch the Sweetwater videos of this thing to get a full idea of the real direct out sound. It’s amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best polysnyth ever hands down.

      Maybe. But with any synth that you spend time using, you will grow. If not. then use a Preset synth and don't waste your time on a synth that can expand your knowledge and imagination. This instrument is a potential powerhouse that can only get better.

    Yeah I can here the speaker sound being coughed up by the the mic which reduce the sound quality, maybe can close the mic when audio from the one is on by using some some gate/limiter processor (or start wearing headphones :) )

      well, one voice is unruly , but I just disable it and carry on with 15 voices (one of the nice things about a synth with more voices than a man's got fingers)

  • @scriabinbartok3465
    @scriabinbartok3465 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The big problem with this synth is the price. Or rather the price in comparison to the rest of the great contemporary synths.
    For example, Dave Smith synthesizers are still great instruments and much cheaper. Is this the best of them all, so it has to be so expensive? What is "best" when it comes to sonic art production? Is Moog getting the " Apple" syndrome?

    • @MrMarco33333
      @MrMarco33333 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The price is reflective of what you get. The Prophet 6 and OB-6 are nice but are very much scaled down in comparison - as are most other analog synths. This is one of those rare 'no corners cut' products.

    • @scriabinbartok3465
      @scriabinbartok3465 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrMarco33333 The top Dave Smith synths don’t strike me as a “corner cuts” synths in terms of features and sound. If we go into the “ scaled down” direction, then every analog synth is scaled down in comparison to the modular builds. I agree that the Moog One is the new king of mobile analog synths. Better than them all may be? Sometimes that’s a matter of personal taste. I love Moog and my Sub 37. Time will show if they got the price right for this one. So far, from what I’ve seen and heard, the price seem a little arrogant .

    • @johnadams5489
      @johnadams5489 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scriabin Bartok
      As an original owner of a Prophet 5 Rev 3.2, Flagship synths are always expensive. It takes a lot of money for R&D. A company makes a huge investment developing a new high end synth.Moog has to recover their investment, cover production costs, payroll, and other overhead before they even get a dollar back from sales. Costs continue as an instrument is brought to market. Spare parts for warranty, pay for tech support, and upgrading their flagship as time goes on in order to keep current. Comparing this synth to some of the scaled down synths is interesting. I read a review of a guy that bought the Prophet Rev 2 16 voice. Sells for 1999.00. It sounds OK, but the build quality is not all that great. The guy that reviewed it said the Pots were cheesy and the reverb was a joke. Go one step further down the ladder and you get a Behringer. Junk. Don't bother. If we can't afford the Moog one, we have to compromise to fit our wallet.

  • @MadelnMachines
    @MadelnMachines 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm also concerned that it's just too vast and complex with too many options. It's a world in itself. Hopefully it's all really intuitive and I don't end up getting lost in it. Is there some kind of indicator that tells you when a pot you're tweaking hasn't passed through the original setting so it's currently not active? I generally avoid layering synths as it's just confusing not knowing what's controlling what, all the parameters are in the wrong place and i feel like i'm tweaking presets blindly rather than creating my own thing. Trying to initialise all of the knobs on the one so you can see what your doing seems like quite a task.

    • @ksqmusic
      @ksqmusic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Likely Yes. Daniel Fishers Sweetwater ‘deep dive’ he goes over the global options and mentions the knob tracking mode (suggesting there is a takeover mode). Also sorry to hear you think this instrument is too complex and you avoid layering sounds. I might recommend the Yamaha PSR series keyboards for its low complexity / layering capabilities.

    • @joechristopher5803
      @joechristopher5803 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Made In Machines highly doubt you’ll get lost in this thing. They designed it to be able to see everything going on and efficiently be able to control everything. Just like patches, you should know what is creating your sound and know how and where to change it.

    Have some that are teaching/descriptive vids.
    And
    Have some that are just jam sessions.

    Again the obsession with "oberheim moog sequential," yeah, you know who arguably invented the synthesizer and has contributed the most in terms of functionality and thinking about it as an instrument..Don Buchla. No mention? Really? All of these ideas coexist in my modular system. This is a very nice package of many things in one synth moog, but can you please stop pretending you're reinventing the wheel? (I'll leave that to the Fenix guys with their new PAN)
