    Can you do a review of the XLR8 carbon fiber shaft from DFE Billiards, or an affordable jump cue, and do you prefer wood or carbon fiber shafts on a jump cue?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Todd. That shaft is in our plans for sure! I think both a wooden and CF shaft can work on a jump cue. With CF it's somewhat easier to get the cue ball airborne because of its low weight though.

      Every cue from jflowers that come with a carbon fiber shaft have the exact shaft and the only differences are the printed inlays. This is all from knowledge gained on TH-cam and comments lol so don't 100% trust me but maybe put 85% of your trust into this comment!

      @@IcedDragon420 Ive shot with multiple (5 or 6) Jflowers cues and the cues definitely have very different hits on each cue even with all of them having the same cf shaft, also the only ones with printed inlays are the cheapest group (novice i think) there's 3 different price points for their cues, after that they are real inlays

    • @IcedDragon420
      @IcedDragon420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thomasswain7415 do you have videos with the cues! I'd deffinetly watch them if you made them. I'd like more input on how each of them feel even though the shaft is the same, if you switched one if the shafts between from one butt to the one you are using does it feel the same on that butt as well and that it's the quality of the butt of the cue that makes the difference in feel, or do you think that the shafts could possibly be inconsistent like wood even though they are supposed high quality shafts.
      Not saying they aren't high quality, in actually looking into buying one of these ASAP before price increases

    • @thomasswain7415
      @thomasswain7415 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IcedDragon420 I personally dont have any reviews but my father does on Facebook Brad Swain, he has i think 5 different reviews on playing cues and one on their break, I do believe you could also look up Calvin Post for more reviews. In my opinion the shafts are very similar, quality control is quite good imo, and yes! changing from butt to butt of cue has very big difference as it changes the balance, the "feel" sometimes weight. If you are interested I will say that what works for one person may not work for others but I would definitely reccomend jflowers

    I bought the cue and played with it for 2 days.
    This pool cue with carbon fiber shaft exceeded my expectations.
    I use to play with club cues and I feel that the tip of Jflowers carbon fiber shaft is little harder than what I am familiar with. Do you think this because its a new tip and it was very first shots with it?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, cool hearing that you love the JFlowers cue! The tip is a Moori medium multilayered tip. If you are used to playing with "club cues", sometimes these have beaten up older tips which can feel softer. Also, the carbon fiber "feeling" can also be why you are experiencing something "new". Give it some time, if the tip is not to your liking..just change it :D Good luck and congrats with your new cue!

    Will the carbon fiber shaft play as good on any butt or is the butt part of the manufacturing for the action of the shaft?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick, that's a really good question. You know, there are many different variations on similar pins. I know for a fact that some "Radial" pins are not Radial, but an American Bull pin. It still fits like a glove on a Radial pin. My reply would be: If you find a pin that it will fit on..it will play the same, HOWEVER - keep in mind that not all butts have the carbon fiber inlays inside like the JFlowers cues actually has. Those really help to stabilize the cue as a whole. It's pretty amazing that a $300 cue has that to be honest!

    For a love of me I don't understand why a cue maker would not sell just a shaft. OK, let's say I'm ready to drop $300.00 for entire cue just to get carbon shaft...but no, let's put on a cue this ridiculous join so shaft cannot be used with another butt. I don't understand their business strategy but if they start selling just carbon shaft with all available joints...at least with most popular...I can guaranty you they would substantially increase the sales.

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you have misunderstood. JFlowers are selling these cues dirt cheap to get as many out there as possible. They are cue brand, not a shaft brand. And, their 3/8-8 pin is a Radial pin...that fits on ANY Radial pin.

    Are Jflowers and Kaellen same company?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Frank. No, they are not the same company. I don't think they even are a company. More an "Amazon seller". Any JFlowers cue has a lifetime warranty. The Konllen ones do not.

    Thanks for the info. This is the second video I've seen about this cue. As a beginner purchasing a Spencer Marston table, which I love, just over a year ago and researching cues now for awhile; I'm really liking this cue. Is a CF cue going to have more deflection - less forgiving than wood because it's a harder material? As a novice, this was just a thought?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A carbon fiber shaft and a low deflection wooden shaft will have about the same deflection. It's a myth (created by the manufacturers) that carbon fiber shafts have lower deflection. The benefits of a carbon fiber shaft are that it will never warp, it's much harder to scratch and it will stay consistent throughout. A wooden shaft can easily get scratches, dinks, and get warped. And, amongst the carbon fiber shafts, the deflection is pretty much the same. Don't believe the hype saying "this carbon fiber shaft has a lower deflection than that carbon fiber shaft". It's simply not true.

      @@CueListings I was ready to buy the J Flowers cue at $300 after several weeks of researching information on cue sticks. I asked J Flowers about the ten percent discount I saw on the Lil Chris demonstration of this cue. I conveyed to J Flowers that I was a new player and this was my maximum purchase amount. There rep said if I purchased a $400 cue, I could get the 10%. I thought that was petty.

       @don portis Hi Don. I'm not sure I agree with you :/ Their prices are very very very very low already. Adding a 10% discount on top of their low prices seems unfair for them. You should purchase for the $400 they ask (1 cue + 1 case) and you'll be thrilled!

       @don portis OK, I just don't see how it can "strike you wrong" that you are not getting a discount when nobody else is getting it at the moment. JFlowers cues are DIRT CHEAP, but FREAKIN GREAT! I think we need to support them..not bleed them dry. Anyways...that's just my 2 cents.

    How good is this cue compared to cuetec svb carbon?

    • @CueListings
      @CueListings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, first of all..it's half the price. Secondly the carbon fiber shaft on the JFlowers scores much better on the "pitch sclae", and thirdly it plays better. In my mind there is no doubt which of the 2 cues I would have bought. That is, if you like the design on the $300 cues from JFlowers. They've got 4-5 models in that price range. Or, if you want to add another $200 you can chose from 4-5 more models.
