Spraying cleaner on a noisy pot as you did in this video is not likely to get to the contact inside. You need to spray into the pot from the other side. Inside the radio. Spray into the little opening on the side. I find WD40 is very good for this. WD40 is good for many things including a degreaser. People who leave the RF gain on max don't really know how to tune a radio. Leave the volume control at a higher setting and back off on the RF gain as needed. Use the RF gain as your volume control. When you back off the RF gain you increase the signal to noise ratio. I did love your start to this video where you called people with dirty radios filthy pigs :) I will never understand people who mistreat something they paid a lot of money for.
Doesn't look like the Pro Power foam cleaner is sold in the states. I did find it on Amazon from European sellers but it says "currently unavailable" .. anyway, thanks for the video ,, See you in the CQWW next weekend perhaps ..
Thank you very much. I only wish you had a silver coloured appliance instead so we can see your method better. Those pro power sprays have been around for a long time. Had no idea they made foam cleaner. My late brother used to use the contact cleaner spray to clean volume sliders, etc. thank you again, gonna try get me that foam cleaner.
I got in a Rotel RX 503 with handles (similar to 70's Kenwood home receiver) first electronic I seen/smelled with smoke stains.... used baking soda/water on a paper towel. I thought great its removing nicotine and even more with sitting but now I see some spots not as shiny equal to the rest except when re wet. Any tips on what to try next? Thanks
I am thinking of an alternative to the spray foam used in the video that is available in the states would be Pro Honda spray cleaner and polish. You can get it from the Honda motorcycle dealer.
Hello brother I also suffer from " refrigerator blindness " the curse of not seeing what is directly in front of me. Since my wife is not correspondedly affected I survive by biting the tongue.

Wouldn't the polish take the decals off and scratch the perspex?
@@hifissb It is designed for the windscreen and plastic parts of the motorcycle. It does not damage decals or scratch. I use it on my helmet mostly.
Can I use contact cleaner in volume and other things like volume
Very good. Thanks for sharing you're knowledge.
Don't get that foam here in the states. I wonder what's a good equivalent
