- How Phillies slugger Alec Bohm became the BEST 3rd Baseman in the National League
Alec Bohm has become one of the best hitters in baseball, but his career didn't start off that way. He struggled in his first couple years, and after he owned up to his mistakes, he turned his entire career around. In this video, I breakdown Bohm's career and show how he became the best 3rd baseman in the National League.

Him saying he hated Philadelphia is the most Philly thing to say
Lmao born and raised in Philly love here but you ain't lie on that one 🤣 we've all had those days
He’s put in the work. Got stronger and filled out his 6-4 frame. Obviously has guys he can follow in this clubhouse and he has talent. All a recipe for success.
Hes every bit of 6’5. And i still would like to see him put on 10-20 more pounds of muscle. He is much more of a contact hitter than a pure power HR guy, i hope he molds into a RH Freddie Freeman
@@Rytoast99good lord Brotha he’s on pace for 25 homers 120 RBIs with the most doubles in baseball. He already hits to all fields with tons of power and is fielding great defensively. 10-15 pounds is a little ridiculous
@@hunterdorman3915yeah thats a dumbasd suggestion. Get heavier? Dumb as fuck it will slow him up and cause injury these people think lifes a video game
Still needs to hit more homeruns. He should be hitting 30 Homer's a year.
@@codyfarmer1 I agree would like more power. But average and RBI’s are good.
In short, him saying “ I f*cking hate this place “ followed by owning it, to which the Philly faithful showed him much love and gave a standing ovation, that I believe let him relax and really play carefree ball. Realizing the fans had his back and understood he wanted to succeed greatly.
Awesome vid mate. Liked shared and subscribed! God speed !
Then he goes in a slump there no such thing as the Philadelphia faithful!
Kind of what happened with Trea. He struggled and the fans gave him a standing ovation and that turned it around.
@@CharlesPappas-h6f not true at all. For the most part the fans always have the backs of guys who give 100%. Yes they will boo a guy who’s underachieving for an extended period of time but when the guy gets the first hit during said slump the cheers are as loud for a single as they are for a home run. You don’t have to take my word for it tho man there’s literally dozens and dozens of players currently playing in Philly who speak glowingly of the fans and how the feel they’re the best in their respective sport. There’s a reason the Phillies have been so dominant at home in the regular season and playoffs these last 3 years.
The Philly faithful is awesome!! I love this city! And thanks for the support man, I really appreciate it!
Phillies fans have turned it around. I believe what happened with Trea and Alec changed us. Sure there are certain players like Taijuan Walker or Nick Castellanos that fans can’t stand because they’re overpaid but the others are our guys.
Noooo I was just about to make a video about him 😭… he’s literally my favorite player of all time
I would love for you to make a video on him! There can't be enough Alec Bohm content in this world!!
Yup, Philly does loves Bohm🤘🏻
It really isn't hard to play in this city. Give 100% effort, own it when you make mistakes, and put in the work and we will love you. I truly think the "I fucking hate this place" incident was a huge turning point for him in his career. I genuinely wonder if he'd be the same player he is today without that incident. Love having him on our team.
Yep. Didn't look good after he made 3 ERRORS in one game. After being called out about the " I hate this city " he turned himself around. Great offense & defense sides.
I don't think he is where he is today without saying that. It was a realization moment for him. I'm glad he bought into the city and turned out like this, better than we could have ever asked.
Between Bohm and Trea, it’s really nice that more people are finally seeing this is how Philly sports work. If you bust your ass, show you truly love and care about the game/city, and take ownership for mistakes, regardless of results on the field you’ll be supported and loved. On the other hand, no matter how talented you are, if you refuse to work, take ownership of mistakes or improve you’ll be run out of town like Ben Simmons was. There’s a reason this city still loves Nelson Agholor despite his blooper reel
The way you said Clear-wooder showed that you’re legit!
HAHA YUP! You can't take the Philly accent out of a man!!
I think he’s gonna continue being a all star for many more years too come also possibly a World Series champion
I sure think so!
I was behind him since day one. Nice to see him mature so quickly. His style reminds me of John Kruk, actually. Same type of hitter. Average power, but a tremendously skilled pure hitter that can slap the ball through gaps, hit down the line, and is impossible to stop in RBI situations because of good instincts and a mind that's focused on getting through the gaps. Old school player. He'll have a long career.
I could not believe how many Phils fans wanted to dump him, shoot some still do for when Aiden Miller comes up.
I love the connection to Kruk. They do have similar attributes, and they are good ones to succeed at the MLB level. Thanks so much for your comment!
“A pretty amazing city.” You’ll only get it if your from Philly ❤️
100%
The Bohmer!
We love him!
I kno bro, I’m local!
we embraced Bohm when he owned up, and worked hard, just like when Turner was slumping, and the Phillie faithful gave him a standing O.
It's great how our fanbase gives our players motivation when they really need it. It's gotta be great playing for this city.
I subbed because Philly sports are the best
Bohm really worked on pitch selection, as the percentage of chasing bad pitches goes down up goes the average and production at the plate.
good thing im a phillie fan
Very informative.
I don’t think Bohm was ever “hated”.
i love my glorious king alec bohm
He is my glorious king as well
Clearwooder
Yessir haha
Have y’all heard of Austin Riley
@@commodore311 yes I have.
I❤SC
great channel
Thank you I appreciate the support!!
love bohm. Ronald Torres, Didi Gregorius, and Jean Segura was such a bad time here in philly
And I was thinking Austin Riley actually existed
He does, video still stands
@@StickyChris he better then alex bohm
Dude is gonna drive in 130 this year, 130, seriously, 130!
That is actually insane!
Haven't seen that since Howard's crazy year with 149 RBIs and 58 homers. Wow
He became the best third baseman by working at it.
Certainly would like to see fewer errors, a better glove. One of my Phillie faves
He needs to get back to his 2023 defense. If he can, it would be beneficial.
Alec Bohm? More like Alec Boooooom! Outta here hooome run!
Can't wait for the Bohm Run Derby!
i named my Elden Ring guy Bohm two years ago
Haha I love it
IN BOHM WE TRUST 😃
YES WE DO
"Clear-wooder" is the only correct pronunciation
Exactly
Alec bohm more like imagine if ninja got a low taper fade 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥵😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I think he forgot about manny machado
Standing on the shoulders of the giants. He has role models all around him.
It's a great club dynamic they are building here.
by changing his name to austin riley? derpass
took literally less than 50 seconds into the vid for me to conclude that you sire, absolutely smell of Philly/NJ and are both extremely aware yet unbothered the way "woder" or how tf yall spell that fucked pronunciation 😭
Haha yup that’s me!!!
@@StickyChris honestly as a born and raised Boston native, I can't say we fare much better. Also totally shoulda put this at the end of my first comment but amazing work; will definitely be keeping up w your Phillies stuff.
Coincidentally though I also spent time as a Philly transplant when I decided to undergrad in the 215. Unfortunately the dope ass city couldn't shift any negative opinions on your city's sports franchises WITH THE EXCEPTION of the Phillies of all things (Sox and the AL East have been tuff to be excited for barring this miracle season)
Alec Bohm been him. He put out 20 hr & 97 RBI last year. Brandon Marsh is being overlooked right now.. Brandon Marsh should easily be playing everyday Rob Thompson doing to much per usual.. Marsh and Bohm carried the Phillies last year when Harper was hurt JT and trea were playing like 💩. If your a Phillies fan watch anytime March comes up with runners on with 2 outs he comes threw more than anyone else. Marsh supposedly can't hit lefty's but almost every game Rob sits him vs lefty but whoever he replaces him with goes 0/3 with 2+ Ks and than Marsh has to come in for his 1st ab in the late innings and save the day... If Marsh was struggling bad against lefty's Id be the 1st to say he has a problem but the thing is he vs a lefty is still a wayyyyyy better option than anything else we have and he kills rightys.. Rob Thompson shouldn't be an everyday manager obviously Pache bum.. Rojas bum... Whit over the hill... Castellanos struggling he gets rewarded. Marsh is way better than casty..
He's never gonna win a gold glove. So is he the best 3rd baseman. Don't get me wrong He's awesome. The best? Maybe this year. Let's hope he keeps it up.
gold glove doesn't mean best third baseman
I didn’t know you could see into the future /s
@@charlieBuckley-pz8tltrue but if other 3rd baseman can match or get close to his production while playing GG caliber defense thena its arguably that they are better. same with baserunning, he is not that quick
Mets fan?
@@hunterdorman3915 optimistic Phils fan.
Easy guy. Austin Riley just got off to a slow start
Austin Riley got hurt, end of story. But yeah Bohm’s really good but if Austin didn’t get hurt Bohm wouldn’t be here as an all star starter.
Max munch better
In your dreams
@@StickyChris easily not even a question
Fucking hilarious if you think he's even top 4
I love Bohm….. offensively. Defensively…. Not so much. He still scares me. A lot. Way too inconsistent defensively to be considered “the best third baseman in the NL”. Offensively the dude just hits. He’s fantastic. But I still do not like his defense. He’s an average third baseman defensively at best.
