    The Oracle OG is one of my absolute favorite IEMs. I've heard these are a significant departure and should have been named something different than a mkII. I appreciate your review - decisions, decisions.

    You should request Linsoul to send you Moondrop Variations so you can A-B these sets together for your reference.

      These murder the variations if you like natural with an open clear treble.

    I recieved my Oracle MK2 today.
    I also found the bass to be a bit lacking
    However, after doing a bit of tip rolling, I found that using the Final-E silicone tips, greatly improved the bass.

    Thanks Dave for another great review. I would still lean towards the XENNS Top. Keep it going 👍.

  • @samyg123

    From what I’ve heard and seen on FR graphs, the OG is a more balanced set with fuller upper bass and lower mids. The MK2 has these areas scooped out, which increases clarity but reduces the sense of note weight. Personally I loved the Clairvoyance but couldn’t get passed the fit, I wish they’d spend more time packaging these into smaller shells.

    Great review as always
    Like how you do it
    Which would you prefer over the Mangrid Top, although not the same price point??
    Look forward to you next review
    You answered my question later in the video.

    Oracle MK2 is siblant, I sold it away after 2 weeks and my buyer then sold it to another buyer. In just a month my Oracle MK2 has changed hands 2 times, suggests people to demo it and avoid blind purchase, test them with various female vocalist tracks to listen to the sharp "sshh" sounds.

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Everyone hears differently. I have no issues with sibilance with the Oracle mkii unless it is in the track.

    • @SeanSisco
      @SeanSisco ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had zero issues with siblance on my set of MKII, but I've heard people complain about it in videos and comments so while I don't discount those experiences, they don't match mine. This set acts as a great counter to my SA6 for me personally.

    • @rafaelbondoc2312

      I’ve heard this from other forums/videos and I think it depends on the person or maybe even the unit. At first listen I thought there might be a little spiciness at the top but after burn in and some time I never noticed it.

    Hello Dave, great review thanks for everything enjoying your content. I have the Xenns Tea 2 which you seemed to like a lot. Missing detail, vocal emphasis , clarity... sparkle. Would you suggest Oracles Mkii make sense as an upgrade?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oracle mkii is a different presentation with a more sparkly mids and treble.
      I'm curious, what are you using as a source?

    • @petrosvii
      @petrosvii ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheHonestAudiophile Using iems mainly for stage use with 99% sennheiser gear. For reference, i now use a custom Iem which is very close to a custom version of the Dunu Sa6.Previously used the sennheiser ie500 (unreliable build quality, very nice timbre, very "true" vocal representation,)Also used a 3 driver Ultimate Ears custom, which was kind of fun but muddy. I like the Xenns tonaly and they fit great , but i would like a lot more detail , upper treble extension "airyness".Maybe that is too much to ask from the Oracles!

    • @TheHonestAudiophile

    You say that the Oracle is more analytical while the Top has more detail, can you please explain? I'm currently debating between the two, great reviews for both 🙏

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Analytical - Excessively detailed reproduction.
      Detail - Reproduced images of the original sound.
      Analytical is a type of sound presentation/reproduction. Detail retrieval is technical ability. So you can have a lot of detail retrieval without sounding analytical.

      @@TheHonestAudiophile thank you for the reply, so I'd be better suited for the Oracle considering the Timeless is my favorite iem?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My pleasure, you're welcome. Oracle is an improvement over the Timeless in my opinion. BUT they are different in presentation, the Timeless is a little warmer, has a little more intimate mids and not as much elevation in the uppers. The Oracle is more detailed and resolving.

    I really wonder, if sound quality wise these would be an upgrade to a Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones.
    Im still on the fence if I should leave headphones behind and go IEMs.
    My shure SE215's are way more comfortable to me than any other headphones I had. Except for maybe the Sennheiser HD595 wich I had a long time ago. But compared to beyerdynamic dt990pro and the Philips Fidelio ones I never had comfy headphones. But the shure SE215 I sometimes forget I have them in XD

    Help me please , trying to chose between variations or oracal mk2 . I love hearing instruments clearly and good separation with clean bass. Which is best you think ,or anybody can help ?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  ปีที่แล้ว

      Variations have a little more detail retrieval and resolution and separation with clean bass. The Oracle also has clean bass but isn't quite as technical capable as the Variation but does have a little more of a fun side to it with a little more treble elevation.
