I absolutely LOVE the fact that you are using masking tape on a violin! lol. I use it in guitar repair, gluing binding and stuff like that, but this is the first time I have ever seen anyone use it for violin repair :) Excellent job!!!
sure, clamping force for violin repair work and usually should be very low to not build up any unwanted tension on the instrument. and I use magnets for patches :) but also cnc .) Thanks!!!
Very nice video...is there a part 3 video?...did you ever consider smoothing or scraping out the original rough gouges on the underside of the top plate?...
Thanks, not finished yet… but it’s not for a customer… had to make other repairs & paid jobs… maybe i will make this video/ violin complete in future… i am not going to smooth the rough underside, because i am fascinated about the correct average thicknesses at its limit.
Hi. I like your patience and passion, you are a doctor for the instruments. Where do you live? I have an old violin from when I was a kid and now I have 50 and it wasn't new :)
Hello, I am reinforcing with planed wooded shavings. Won't get simpler and lighter, without being over enforced and inflexible. Not much needed, make the test.
Ich wusste es (mein Vater übrigens auch) - Leukoplast ist vielmehr als nur ein Wundverband! Kann man eigentlich für die Klebeplätzchen über den rissen einfach ein Stückchen Furnier verwenden?

Great video, excellet, very good way to handle in a very tight zone
Thank you very much. I hope to make more videos again …
Wow, nice job. What kind of wood you've used, please?
@@Cherfield-D-Blessedman hello, spruce for the violin top replacement , bassbar and all patches.
Bottom, sides and the neck are maple wood.
thankyou for this helpful video . can you tell me which kind gum is best for do Violin joined
Great idea on the elastic band!
What was the masking tape for, was it just for tension?...
yes i use the masking tape as clamps, also to set joints for glueing.
Is the violin a modern factory repro, or a genuine hand made 1830-1900?
It is a hand made violin, not the finest but interesting. maybe 1900. I don’t trust its signation telling ; 1822 - Carol Lervonzi Finezi.
Hello, what kind of tape you use? thanks.
Hello, masking tape for painters
Hi.
I like your patience and passion, you are a doctor for the instruments.
Where do you live?
I have an old violin from when I was a kid and now I have 50 and it wasn't new :)
Hello, thank You! is it a full size violin (4/4), ? It may be out of tune now :)
hello Meister, what material do you use to reinforce the gluing instead of the wood? Thanks a lot

@@CJKViolin thanks Meister. Do you have an other video showing this technique?
osito1959 Castro just another picture on my Instagram, i use magnets and tape as clamp
Ich wusste es (mein Vater übrigens auch) - Leukoplast ist vielmehr als nur ein Wundverband!

ja, ich verwende dicke Hobelspäne, einfach testen und vergleicht
Thank you so much for the great video! What kind of glue are you using for the repairs? It seems to dry very thin.
I use traditional hide glue, and i prefer the bone glue. Its almost transparent and i prepare it for depending on the application, more or less thin.
I can never get my tools that sharp!!!
You must be genius.. using 1$ tape instead of 100$ clamp.. thanks for inspiration!
not only the prize, its fast with precise pressure points and very good for (crack-) alignment control. Just don't rip of old loose varnish!
