Going through the same problem, but mine I also found an exhaust temp sensor broken (Snapped in half) from the inside after the Particular Filter, I am deciding on replacing the whole turbo and filter. Great vid though.

Thanks for sharing this video, it’s been really helpful. You make it look easy! I found this really tricky as the access is so tight, hard to fit a 3/8 ratchet in and 1/4 deep sockets all too short. I had a Nielsen clone of the VAG tools (slotted socket) but even that wouldn’t reach the nut without drilling a 6mm hole to allow the thread deeper in the socket. Couldn’t get the bolts out without disconnecting the oil feed pipe. Nice hidden hole in the manifold for a 10mm socket to drop down so the undertray had to come off to find it and get it out, if I did it again I’d plug the hole with a rag. Top of a spray can covered the turbo inlet nicely so at least I couldn’t drop something in that. Getting the nut back on was awkward even with it wedged in a socket with tape. Over all a pig of a job and if you were closer I’d have definitely paid you to do it. Cheers!

I’ve got an question a friend of my says the actuator is broken but I don’t get any fault in vcds My symptoms are that the turbo kicks in at 3000rpm🤷🏼‍♂️ and nearly sometimes It kicks in at very low rpm like it normal TDI does 🤦🏼‍♂️

Check if the actuator holds vacuum, if it doesn't hold its toast

I didn’t get any faults on my Caddy but used a mityvac and can’t pull a vacuum on the actuator but it does move 5mm or so when I do an output test with VCDS.

    Great video.
About to fit one of these to my 2010 2.0tdi 170 skoda superb. I'm all good with tools etc it's the adaptation using VCDS at end of your video which I can't do as no VCDS.
Is this essential? What if I don't do adaptation?
    Cheers

Hi there Iv a 1.6 passst BMT with intermittent hard starting and occasionally it ticks over slightly lumpy whilst stationary. If you roll or coast the idle sorts itself out. Iv been told the actuator could be worth a check. Theres no fault codes and car runs well.
    2014 15k miles.
    Any ideas ??

Hi, great video thanks. I have a Caddy with a 1.9 BLS engine. Manual says there is a kit for the diaphragm but also says turbo removal is required. In your experience, can this diaphragm replacement be carried out as you have done in this video? Thanks in advance.

The retaining nuts on my actuator don’t clear the oil pipe, any ideas? Without disconnecting the pipe/bleeding etc!

You had a go at this yourself? Did it solve your problem? Have a underboost P0299 fault on my Leon 170CR . Limp mode on hills in 4th with late turbo. Hoping my problem is the actuator

Hi mate. I have a mk6 2.0tdi 170. I have a boost problem where I only get full boost at 3,100 and no boost before that where before id have boost at 2k. Going into limp mode on the slightest of hills or full pedal. Was thinking the N75 sensor but would this be the culprit?

It's worth testing it with a mityvac

On the later 2.0 Tdi's i thought the actuator is auto adjusted via vagcom? i ask because i have a BKD that had to be adjusted manually after a turbo refub i.e they didnt set the rod correctly the first time creating overboost.

I can set it up on my scan tool but if you match it with old one it's always fine. I've fitted loads this way
