I can’t figure it out. Marchand and Pasta can’t even seem to handle the puck and look like they are in a daze. They have so many turnovers. Lindholm has done nothing. I liked what I saw from Merkulov and Osterle seems effective. Korpy was amazing in these game and honestly I think most goals have been defensive breakdowns and not being able to clear the puck. I think we have played 4-5 good periods this season. That’s it. And we are .500. Imagine if these guys were clicking

almost everyone has a no trade clause. i dont know how carolina does it. could the bruins be really good with brindamour as coach? and carolina singed pyotor for 2 mil a year for like 6 years. and look at canucks current goalie roster. 2 guys making less then a mill and playing really well.

Nothing. The team is going nowhere and I don’t care if they lose every game for the rest of the season as long as it allows them to develop the few talented players they have upfront, and so long as there isn’t a major risk of injury. I say do it.

I agree with @gsstacker. Set the lines the way you think they would be best and leave them that way for 10 or more games. Let the boys build some chemistry. Athletes crave consistency and I'm sure the team game would improve if he quit f-ing with the line combos.

did you ever consider that some players might not like being on a line with certain teammates ? i was forced to play with several guys i couldn't stand. in my opinion, this line changing question is overblown because they are teammates and every guy knows pretty much what a player is going to do, whether you are watching from the bench or you are on the ice with them.

@ I can see that, and the Bruins need to start somewhere. But not with the coach, not yet (tanking). Fix upper management, Cam and Don. I think this needs to be done sooner than later. The Bruins can not afford any mistakes at the trade deadline and need to get upper management in place for the Draft and Free Agency. The new GM will choose a new coach at that point. Let the rebuild begin.

Good video. Thanks! This is not a well constructed roster. Also the veteran leadership outside of Marchand is missing. Hall, Foligno, James Van, Shattenkirk, even adding Maroon last year…….all gone. Those guys helped not to mention what they had two years ago too with Bergeron and Krejci. The worst part is I believe there is no simple formula or set of moves that fixes this. We are basically 25% of the way through the season with no signs of this drastically improving. I say the closer you get to that 50% mark, the more you commit to developing/playing young players in all situations at the cost of losing meaningless points in the standings. This is not a team that should be operating like a legit contender. And if the Bruins are outside the playoffs by the time the deadline approaches, literally cut dead weight, sell non-core pieces, fire everybody, and clean house from top to bottom. I don’t care if that’s extreme. Firing the coach when he is only 1/3 of the issue while everyone else skates away without a scratch won’t fix anything. So I say follow this plan until it’s definitively too far gone, then fire everybody and commit to an aggressive retool, specifically prioritizing drafting and developing young offensive talent.

    • @hockeytalk6084
      @hockeytalk6084 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

They’re between a rock and a hard place right now since somehow, while playing this abysmally… and with the analytics saying they should be even WORSE, they are teetering on the edge of a playoff spot. So it’s hard to say they should just blow up the earth right this second. Every year there are teams in this league with half this roster who outperform what this team is doing right now. But at the same time it can’t continue like this. 100% unacceptable. And at this point, I don’t think them being close to a playoff spot should drastically affect how they move going forward considering they have no chance of winning a championship. So that shouldn’t be an excuse to hold Pat either

Defensively they seemed confused on what they are playing...is it man to man or a zone? Regardless they put no pressure on the opposition when in our zone and consequently they throw it around the outside for a minute till they can get a shot through. If not tipped in they can get a rebound cause no one on this team consistently blocks out anyone from the front of the net. We look like we are penalty killing 5x5? WTF is that?
Offensively, these people refuse to shoot the damn puck except for Pastrnak who shoots it from anywhere at anytime which is an issue on its own lol While I am not happy with our defense's performance this year it is hard to get all over them considering their workload. We were meant to be a forechecking team and that is going horribly. Defense is a hard position already in a league that encourages scoring and yet our offense seems content to continually throw the ball in the defenses court. Bad passes, turnovers, can't receive the pass, lackluster forecheck etc etc etc.
Also as some point out....quit playing with the lines for a bit. We had one line firing on all cylinders and he split them up?
I cant believe we are 500. We have thrown in some truly pathetic performances this year. We may be a bit spoiled but we can still spot what appears to be a team playing to get rid of their coach or more.

Nice to see Freddie waking up. Still not at all pleased w/ his game this season. Mac and Zadorov are clearly not gelling. As for the kids, i get what Monty's trying... it's toss it against the wall and see what sticks. The thing w/ hockey is, the lines need some consistently, to find a grove together. Hockey more than most sports, needs to play as a group. this blender routine, w/ almost every day, a new line combo is NOT helping. (Leaving aside the zone system), the lines are not playing well, together. EXCEPT for the 4th. Kastelic, Koepke, Beecher. why break them up, and not sit someone on 3rd line?

Yeah Freddy likes playing in his hometown..
should bring his groupies along on road trips.
Pasta is a good player, glad he's picking up his game. But great players make others around them better.
I heard through a recent Bergeron interview that the ole 2011 cup gang is reuniting in Bean town in early December.
They're calling it a "charity alumni game" - instead of a PTO
    😄
    Korpisalo is fun to watch
We're allowed to enjoy the game and our goalie without freaking out. Going to extremes.
Somehow for 3 seasons it's okay to keep chanting "Swayman is the future of the Bruins...🤪"
Yet can't enjoy Korpisalo? Hope to see him increase his own potential. He's not old and washed up. Still has more time & room to improve
No worries, Fairweather fans will fall in line chanting "Jeremy is #1!" 🤓 when B's start winning again
    It's hockey.
Not a funeral. going to let them have Korpisalo.
They go to extremes anyway..... So I'm not going to piss on his parade because of hyperbolic fair weather fans!
That little hop step by Merkilov was funny! A player who was literally on his toes!

I think Korpisalo has played way above expectations. I also think Swayman hasn't played bad . I think the team defense has been non existent. I had some one in my comments today blame the loss on Swayman and he didn't even play. That is the stuff that drives me mad.
I think Pastrnak is elite and does make the players around him better and Zacha is a prime example of that

So far, he has the potential for being a solid goalie, has a ways to go. And that's my entire issue.
Binnington threw off fan expectations of young goalies..
He had that rare opportunity to catch lightning in a bottle
And perhaps that messed with young goalie's heads
Yet that seems to have set the standard for new goalies coming in!
Like every center has to be Patrice Bergeron?
Mad respect to patrice, yet for the majority of his career he had a Zdeno Chara!
the pasta - zacha connection is a great example!of pasta working with other players And when those two are on, we can hear lotsa

      ugh
      Lol!
Taking the puck up ice on his own giving it away is sort of what I was talking about. And Monty is on it!
love seeing him in a leadership role, setting up plays, getting assists. We're seeing that more as his career progresses.
I think he's got more to give to this team off ice. Sometimes I think he's out there trying to do it alone.
But what's up with that mustache?
I am relieved that some fans are starting to realize Monty is not the only problem.
Or he may not be the problem.
If there's a coach that can take these "kids" through adversity, he just might be it
But as I said 3 years ago, whip out the Legos

I have been thinking about this all day. Just a few things and I hope that I am not off base. The players have been playing this game a majority of their life, Did they forget how to play? Maybe it is time to go to the basic play book. The coach can only coach the players he has, so all the blame should not fall on him. I think with the departure of some players that were here last year they were counting on the players that had a brake out year last year to pick up the slack. This has not even been close to happening. Nikita Zadorov has been spending way to much time in the box, but he play's with his heart maybe a few of his team mates should follow suit. And make trades to improve the team? This will be hard considering what they have to trade and their backs against the wall with cap space. Do they want to go down the road again and have no prospects , that has put them in the spot they are now. Maybe all eyes should turn to high management , they are the on people that put this team on the ice.

Well, at this point the best thing to do is stop worrying. We shouldn’t worry because their failures don’t reflect on us as fans(although some time ago I did stop wearing my B’s cap in public😊). As for the players, they need to put all this behind them, stop listening to the media who are making almost as much hey out of these early season struggles as they did out of the Swayman contract negotiation, and just do more of what they did in the first period against the Blues. Just for 60 minutes instead of 20. They’re going have bad games. And, as frustrated as we are watching this right now, they may be closer to turning this around than we think. Be calm, my friends.

I'm going to say something that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject in the video
    - I miss playing hockey!
Being around ice arenas - skills coaching... Being one of the gang.
The smell of the stinky locker rooms, the tape on the bottom of your skate that causes you to land on your ass when you step on the ice!
Sometimes it was put their intentionally! Lol!
    The water bottle squirt fights
My coffee dumping all over me because some parents' kid just scored a goal and they jumped up out of joy!
And I happily wore that coffee!
I missed the rush, and the wind in my face skating around the rink to wake up at the crack of dawn.
The sound of my son's goalie pads stopping a shot.
Yelking until I had no voice.. "blocker up goalie!... Shoulders back!
Puck is under your skates!.. you got one coming in on your left... Watch the position of skate blades!"
And especially yelling "goaliiiiie!" When they make a big stop.
Miss it even more this year because there are not happy hockey fans
Don't lose your passion for the game -
if you've never laced up? Try it. Go hang out at a hockey arena...
    Smell those nasty hockey bags!
    Take a nice deep wiff!
Because it's the most foul smell that you'll never forget, but will make you smile inside!
Don't lose sight of your game.
    Of your memories
    Of your children...
The game was just an excuse for an awesome community of people, regardless of skin color, we didn't care where the hell you came from.... We just wanted you on blades flying across ice
    With a great big smile!
    This isn't hockey.
    (I don't mean Courts podcast)
I believe these players are doing the absolute best they can under the circumstances.
I don't believe any Bruins player is phoning it in, trying to tank...
And I do believe our coach is doing the very best he can.
I'm just going to stand behind my Bears
Close my eyes and smell those hockey bags!
When you coach, you have to pull out the positives. Yeah always have to find something good about the shellacking your young athletes just took!
Always look for the silver linings in hockey.
Because anything can change the direction of a 4-inch vulcanized rubber disc!
Yep, this is going to be a tough season. Which means we have to be tougher.
Smile in the face of adversity.
Our boys need us now more than ever.
I wear black and gold just about everyday during hockey season.
    Especially after we lose.
The ole tradition of circling the wagons.
I hope some of you can go back to enjoying hockey.
This isn't full time hockey anymore...
We have to catch the tidbits in between the garbage!
We're never going to get inside elite athletes' heads - trust me, you don't want to go there!
Till I just want to enjoy hockey again...
A family tradition I carry on, for those who have passed away.
    This is a community. We're a family.
    That's real hockey.
    ✌️

      @bruinsdiehards ugh!
      I'm sorry.
But you're still out there with your daughter and probably helping other kids
I bet you haven't lost your sense of smell!
      Lol!
      My vehicles stunk!
      No matter what I did!
I always smelled like bleach in the winter between swimming and hockey!
      Truly sorry you got benched.
I was able to get that wind back in my face and chapped lips running around on an ATV in the winters... But it's not the same!
Your sense of hockey community still comes through.
One of the few videos that has something positive to say.
      You totally get it.
      hope you're still having fun.

The Bruins aren’t .500. Win percentage is wins divided by games played. Bruins have won 8 out of 19 games putting them at .421.

Accoring to the NHL standings they are because supposedly loser points don't count as a loss

@@bruinsdiehards The NHL has ruined OT with 5 minutes of pond hockey followed by a shoot out. The “garbage” point given to a team for loosing is ridiculous. Look at the Bruins 135 points two years ago. That 135 is padded with at least a few extra points from loosing in OT.
With the NHL’s mentality a team theoretically could go to OT in all 82 games never winning a game, get 82 points be called a .500 team and possibly make the playoffs.
