He then left them knowing that she was pregnant with Manbok and it was way before she was born but how did Manbok even recognize him? 35:28. It was because another guy came into the scene. The song composer was her mom's lover in the early days of Manbok's childhood but he then left them also in 2 years time because his family dislikes Manbok's mother. Now after more or less 10 years, Manbok thought that that guy was her biological father but he really is not. Her adoptive parents even tried to correct it on the last minute but it just didn't get along with the timing. Nonetheless, as I've read the comment section. There is really a misunderstanding of the story.
I've cried in every single KBS movie special that I can remember. But..this was very special to me. Really really loved this, very touching. Cried like a bucket
oh my gosh the whole time i was hoping that manbok would be like, "no that's not my name , my name is lee yuejong(her real name), to han jun and i kept on crying when she was so close to mentioning her and her mom. but i know that in the end she thought it would be best to leave things that ended in the past in the past and move on, still thought, she's so strong oh my gosh. and when the adoptive family was like we'd give her eyes for her and care for her and pay for her costs with what they had, oh my gosh, that was the best. i love the actress who played manbok, she's so genuine with the emotions she expresses on her face. i watched her other drama and i loved it, the queen's classroom, it's a very interesting take on school children life. love this kbs!

Just beautiful...Sometimes, certain things are better left unsaid. Ignorance can be blissful in this instance! I love how she was so happy to be with her adoptive family at the end and that's all that matters because they are the ones who have been there for her and with her throughout most of her life! Kim Hyanggi is such a great actress. She had been great ever since on Wedding Dress even though she was so little back then. Now she's turned to be a lady already. Time sure flies! D.O looks like her a lot and it's great that D.O is also a good actor just like Hyanggi!

I thought that too, but then realized: Mabok was being really considerate of this guy's happiness. It must've hurt HJ to leave both her and her mom. He finally finds happiness a second time (with the approval of family this time apparently?). So, for Mabok to force herself back into his life would make things really awkward for his new wife. And him. And any kids they may have in the future. That was a really mature decision for a kid (I'll let you go, just don't leave anyone else ever again. Aw. Plus, she's not exactly parentless. She has parents willing to take her place, and take her suffering if they could. That's love. Mabok paid that love forward by not bringing a world of bad news to this guy who is oblivious to her condition, and how her mom died, despite being an important connection to her because of her bio mom). But because Mabok acted so selflessly, I'm secretly wishing his flight got delayed and he got to watch the adopted families special "coincidentally", learned her real name, put the pieces together, had some doctor connections back in America, came back to visit with good news and she got to keep her vision for life ^_^ Happy ending for all, yay! Though I'm sure people who have this condition IRL, or are close to someone who does, can appreciate that people didn't get magically healed near the end, because they too haven't received a cure. The ending was still hopeful no matter what happens. "Sometimes life sucks, but be loyal to the end so less people get hurt."
Was the guy who played the role "Mark" actually a real Filipino? I can actually relate to Manbok (Kim Hyanggi) and what she had been in her life at a young age. Reason why I was asking if "Mark" is really a Filipino is because I'm Filipino-Korean myself (born from a Korean father and a Filipina-American mother) and it feels saddening that there were child like Manbok and myself who went through such childhood. Although I never had the chance to meet my father after he and my mother went separate lives after their divorce. My only wish now that I'm all grown up is for me to see my father. That indeed is the best gift I'll ever had in my life. 아빠, 너무 보고싶고 사랑합니다. 만나면 나의 평생이 완전 좋네요... 사랑해요, 우리 아버지. 😢
It was solved. It’s three years later. Leo has his mom. Sister married the guy that liked her. Manbok stayed with her family. She knew who her family was.
I think the point of the ending was that family will always be family. Family isn’t about who you are related too it’s about who will love you and stand by your side even if you want to kill each other. I like the ending but that’s just my take on it.🤷♀️

I usually love Drama Special. This is one of the first I was not crazy about. The best thing about it, for me - was Lee Ki-Chan singing. I wish there was a video of him singing that song live. Please KBS, bring us more Lee Ki-Chan, in both songs and acting. I look forward to seeing him now in Into the Flames drama - 불꽃 속으로. OST already out and amazing.

- Synopsis : Manbok lost her real parents and is living with her adoptive family. The family members treat her like their real daughter and sister so Manbok doesn't feel lonely at all. But she wants to see her real father for once. One day, she sees a singer sing a song her mom used to sing for her on TV and thinks the person who gave the song to the singer is her real father. She heads off to Chuncheon to find him. The man Manbok meets in Chuncheon has all the aspects of a perfect father but he doesn't seem to recognize Manbok. Also she finds out that he's soon to be married. After thinking hard, she goes to the wedding hall. Manbok's family finds out about this and goes to find her at the wedding hall!

I'm crying watching this ..so emotional story even though actually that handsome guy is not her real father ..maybe her family doesn't want to tell manbok that her real father left her mom even though he knows she was pregnant at that time.. the story is quite hanging becoz it doesn't tell details about manbok's eyes problems..overall,the story is great family theme..really like it though
