"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth." (Rev 11,3)
The two witnesses are Muhammad and Ali, and amazingly the period of their dispensation/ covenant is stated: 1260 years starting in the year 1 of the islamic calendar (or 622 A.D.). The year 1260 (anno Hejirae) is 1844 C.E. (which coincides with the 2,300-year-waiting period (Dan 8,14) until the Second Advent of the Lord !
And St. John also describes the fate of these messengers, the fate of islam, a dead and decaying body, because their teachings were corrupted and destroyed beyond recognition by their own "followers", the blashemous kaliphs and by their religious enemies. For most period islam had the existence of a zombie , alive on the surface , dead in the inside, not even allowed to be buried:
"And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,.." (Rev 11,8)
However and CRITICALLY , the purpose of the Islamic dispensation and of the Qur'an was to preach monotheism and to remind and prepare for God's Kingdom on Earth, the new Jerusalem.
Both goals are stated ans achieved in the book, but a criminal or ignorant priesthood (since the time of the "beasts" (caliphates) of the Umayyads (Rev 13,1) and Abbasids (13,11) followed by Ottoman empire) deceived them about Islam being "last religion",about muhammad being the "last messenger" , like the Jewish priesthood who rejected Jesus because He didn't fulfill their literalminded expectations.

Jesus will come again to this world . He will come in the clouds with but His saints and angels.He will come with the sound of trumpet and whoever died in Christ will resurrect and come out of the tombs with new glorified bodies .
