scary stuff aside, stoked to be driving these roads again these backroads were such an inspiration early on in my S2000 ownership way back when I was first looking up videos on the car (after buying it because that original purchase wasn't planned... was actually looking for a DC5S at the time) quick sorry to the bay area dogs too for not giving you a heads up on this visit, was very spur of the moment due to my buddy's M3 purchase and sometimes you gotta run it back without a second thought and I think that's life but I do wanna say thank you to those that extended the invite to drive together way back when I posted my first touge videos earleir this year... it'll never cease to amaze me how rad the driving community is especially in the bay area (minus the BMW minivan in the video above) hope to plan something where we can all link up - safely - soon! thanks again for watchin!
Yeah that's the usual on hwy 9. Alot of drivers push their cars to the limit like crazy. Recently there has been alot more accidents... its crazy who they hand out drivers licenses to.
Definitely wise to take a minute and unclench before getting back to business after that! If not call it a day. People get on those rare straights and forget that there WILL be another tight corner at the end of it! Never had anything this bad but seen lots of parallel rubber strips going into the weeds. (I live out there so this is home to me.)
I'm so mad at that dude driving on the wrong side of the road at the beginning of the s turn with the straight away in-between it.. like wtf... tbh I have seen Hella people take that straight away in between the turns too fast (coming downhill) and break hella hard and the breaking Hella suddenly like that in the turn only makes them take the turn wider.. like I seen a dude do that and go so wide out he was on the other side of the road on the dirt bankment and barely kept the whip from going off the dirt wall berm kinda thing like 40 feet before where you parked to look at the spot he almost hit lol
I’ve been on that road hundreds times and fortunately never saw that happened. That bmw driver must had passed that miata on the downhill straight before that corner but couldn’t slow down fast enough.
Due to the virus outbreak a lot of people stay at home. However, the tires still deteriorate due to the sun. As a result there a lot of cars with weak tires on the road!!!
Damn that's so fuckin scary, glad you're ok! I caught a video of a Ford Explorer ST doing some of the same sort of bullshit. Here's my dashcam POV th-cam.com/video/VjuJXoApFnk/w-d-xo.html

same to be honest, its a sign to keep it moving! aha
nice save to the driver, this corner almost took me out personally with drivers not knowing what brakes are for going down into a corner
good looks! yeah luckily the car was overheating so we were taking it slow well into the corner
are you local?

It's the people who think they know how to touge, and think cutting in between the lane is what your supposed to do

Wow. Glad I saw this. I know my car is capable, but bc of things like this, I don't need to push it to the limit.

I would have turned around, chased them down and chewed them tf out.

Yo i have a question. As someone from Socal who does touge? What roads do you guys drive around Santa cruz área ir even Santa barbara area?
HWY 9, HWY 17, Skyline BLVD, Hicks RD, Calaveras RD, Mt. Hamilton RD
I'd probably just stick with 9 and Skyline though
I f ing hate idiot drivers like that. That guy should go to jail for at least 1 day.
