Best tip is map knowledge. It helps so much to know where to go or what to defend. The last tip provided helps a lot to improve map knowledge. The replay is a feature I was not aware of right from the beginning. It's a bit hidden and I'm sure a big portion of the playerbase don't know it exists.
If I could just share one tip about flashbangs: Be sure to give your nearby teammates a heads up when you're about to use one, so they have ample time to look away and get into proper position. Hearing your character go "flash out" doesn't give 'em enough time to react. Of course it helps to have a mic for this. If not, maybe try standing in front of them at appropriate angles as to not obstruct their view, but to still show them the flashbang in your hand, or use text chat to announce when and where you're gonna use 'em. And I really do wish people would use flashbangs more often indoors instead of smoke grenades; that doesn't help anyone and just makes it unnecessarily more difficult to navigate through the rooms.

Bad for long range smokes, when you un-pin a smoke grenade it’ll drop in mid air once the smoke starts to spread. Useful for getting a smoke to land somewhere specific.

I played the first standalone Insurgency a long time ago and played sandstorm on PS4 (nearly unplayable) for about 10 hrs. Finally got it on PC. My biggest hurdle is positioning in maps, especially in Frontlines. Can you make a video on major sightlines and common positions for players? Every time I feel I'm focusing on the right direction I end up being capped from behind.
I play on Xbox and love it. I had this issue with sightlines and I recommend playing checkpoint co-op or local on various different maps multiple times to learn good spots to hole up when playing team based game modes and just doing domination like he said in the beginning and learning the maps. You’re gonna get killed, and it’s gonna happen a lot but use that kill cam to help learn where people are coming from when they kill you so you can find the best spots to protect yourself.
I came here specifically to see if there was some special graphic setting to make the visibility better. I just can't believe my enemies have the same shitty visibility as me

as someone who hates vc..i found 13 funny as ive noticed it a few times sense i bought this like 4 days ago...that you can easy pick up on a enemy runing though mouth in proximity ..its gotta be something like 10 feet or so...so ...it can turn into a game of hide and shoot rather quick XD..even if you dont wanna talk. .listening is still a good idea
I only play domination because I just like this game for the cool guns and gunplay itself. So I like the instant spawning and action. Plus the maps seem to bottlenecked for push and other modes IMO. Plus there’s always people playing domination so yeaa

i'm really confused with sound in this game. I dont know what do i have to adjust. But by default, i can hear sound accurately in CS2 (at least horizontal position), but in this game i'm just lost.
I disagree with your crouching makes you a smaller target stance, it actually makes you an easier headshot. Coming from a former marine, never get on your knee unless you know you have cover, or aren’t being directly initiated.
As some who plays rainbow six siege I strongly agree with this.. crouching and laying down make you a lot easier to hit because your body mass is more centered, plus you move slower. Unless you’re trying to be really quiet. Which you could also do standing if you walk slow enough, you should be standing and moving from angle to angle, very slowly at least. Edit (I haven’t played this game at all yet so I’m not sure how the mechanics work or if they’re as good/better than rainbows but they seem like they both require a lot of hearing)

Scopes and sights are important too. Like if you are a defender its okay to just stick to the 1x sights cuz your playstyle is on defending and more on cqc situation for clearing the site's/holding tight angles. But if the map is on long range battles its more favorable on 2x scopes. While attacking its best to have 2x scopes for clearing the angles wide angles and pathways. If your playing advisor have a 1.5 scope it'll cost 1 point only its a snatch. Oh insurgents always have the 1.5 scope on default great deal and their gas mask cost 0 points. This is not applicable to gunner and marksman.
My most effective insurgent kits look like piles of trash. By that I mean they have the same color pallet as the random garbage/inanimate objects seen in the game.

Well thats not the easiest way to start haha! But it can be a fast way to learn the gunplay! You can improve a lot quicker when you're playing against better players

You should pull the pin off and wait few seconds so you time it to get the smoke spread asap At the spot you want.

Yeah, for example tell and buhriz from og insurgency have realistic colors but in sandstorm they are completely crimson colored 😢

Honestly my biggest problem is identifying friendlies and enemies. I'm always hesitating because I'm trying to identify who's an enemy.
Have you tried making the friendly markers less transparent? That could help!
I find it annoying when you reload and go to setting or press M while reloading will also postpone the reload animation until you go back

The reload animation is not audible to the opposing team. ADS / leaning is from what i've seen but a developer mentioned that it's only to the player.

It doesn't have crossplay yet but they are working on one! The game is similiar but sandstorm has smaller linear maps and not big open ones like HLL

The AI in Sandstorm is not smart enough to know what you're wearing so it shouldn't matter at all!
