Been enjoying this awesome band since lockdown, when they brightened the long days. Incredible work of the highest standard, and endless enjoyment for me on multiple repeat plays. And didn't I spot Darrell Smith in one of the BBC TV Proms this summer? Well deserved recognition for such talent. ❤
:). It’s amazing this. I don’t what to complain. Still. . I think it’s the snare placement that makes it feel like it’s not locked in. It’s slightly behind the grid. So the bass and the snare don’t lock in on the 2 and 4. Specially during the verse. The bass and snare flams just slightly. In the instrumental break the bass and drums wakes up a bit and the snare is on grid. Then they are flying. It’s a tricky grove to lock. To me this grove needs a dead centre snare placement. If not even slightly early to give energy.
