      i am living in the 4106 I bought last year.
      the trip home is the scariest part.
      i would suggest you buy a coachnet membership before you get it.I am glad I did. I used it multiple times on trip home.
      all you need is the vin to sign up. good luck.

    You guys do fine for working in the field. Originally Greyhound repaired their own units in huge garages. They could put them on huge 2-piston lifts or drive them up on concrete ramps with a pit underneath. I think small carriers probably sent their buses to Greyhound to be serviced and repaired under contract.

    Just a thought, I had to replace air bags on my 1967 Eagle 1 and I put a strap and ratchet around the airbag to compress it while inserting the new bags and worked like a charm!

    Gosh, I'd never want a bus honestly because just even a SUV scares me to drive. But seeing these videos are fun and stuff as it's almost the polar oppositie of what I'm into. Mopeds, scooters that are high revving for power is my sort of fun. Small cars too like a Ford Festiva.
    Remember that 3 cylinder yanmar you worked on? I'd want one in a Geo metro.
    Keep enabling your owners ability to make good content Lenny!

  • @jackingstrom7384
    @jackingstrom7384 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not trying to be negative here but why do you never use air tools?
    I’ve been a School bus tech for over two decades and whenever I would go out on mobile runs I would simply run air tools off the main air tank for the air brake system thereby eliminating the need to carry an extra air compressor for mobile repairs.
    With the amount of repairs you do it would be very nice to have that 90-125 lbs of air to use; even if it’s just used for blowing off parts and dirt from areas like the brakes, hubs and those shock mounts.
    Just put a simple cheap water filter in line before the air tools or air nozzle so any oil or water from the air brake system won’t contaminate your tools or the parts you are cleaning.

    • @billebest
      @billebest 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      R Mel a few videos back Juan said they were up to about $6000 for repairs. Not sure if that’s factoring in Scott’s labour.

    • @wildcoyote34
      @wildcoyote34 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @R Mel Repairs on a bus get expensive ,,I've owned mine for a little over a year now and i just spent $500 on a pair of rear drums ,, i have the exact same bus as Scott drives ,,and i am looking at an MC9 what i will convert myself into an RV

    • @cyrilhudak4568
      @cyrilhudak4568 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Another way to look at this is 20+ years of deferred maintenance, done all at once.

    • @prevost8686
      @prevost8686 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      wildcoyote34 If you think these older coaches are expensive don’t ever buy a modern one . They’ll break your heart, soul, and wallet.

    • @wildcoyote34
      @wildcoyote34 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Wayne Swicegood i wouldn't buy a modern coach anyhow ,, the MC9 i just looked at is still not considered modern and i decided to pass on it after i had it inspected by a competent mechanic for this reason because it needs $15000 in repairs just to be roadworthy to the minimum safety standards ,i can get something better than that , eventually the right bus will come along
      maybe i'll come across a 4104 or 4106 something not quite as big as the MC9 ,,around where i live there aren't a lot of these buses around ,,and i have been looking gradually increasing distances from my home i'm out past 200 miles now

    I thought those supports you were welding in we're bolted in originally? Please remind your audience to never look at the welding flash while it's occurring,

      Welding arc produces huge amounts of UV light which will sunburn your eyeballs. We’re used to skin sunburn which happens while welding as well but we don’t stare into the sun so most people aren’t aquatinted with retinal sunburn. I can tel you from experience it hurts...
