Although I don't appreciate how they emphasize on English only because for a child's overall development, he should first learn the local and national language. But this video nicely elaborates how to develop a child's overall communication skills.

Good one but just want to share one thing, I m an English trainer but I don't talk to my daughter in English all the time, and same was suggested by principal of her school that talk to your children in native language at home. English they will learn in school, we also did the same way right.... No one in our house used to talk in English. So if u r in good school and Infact most of the school nowadays focus more on spoken English now.. So native language is also imp as I live in Bangalore.. Here anyways she is going to speak English more so I would suggest not to forget native also and better at home use native language, cz i have seen here kids forgetting their native language and parents are concerned now

I agree..me and my husband follow the same with my 3 year old kid..we speak hindi, native language and words of english with him so that he gets familiar with english also.

      Hi Little Yavi,
My kid is 4 years old and going to good school in Bangalore, in his school they are insisting us to talk to our kids in English.
But my kid is too expressive and good in Hindi. So I am not sure should I be talking to him in English. Won't it hamper his imagination and expression.

Hi, I think it’s not a debate to teach which language to our kids earlier rather she has narrated how to teach a language to a kid effectively.
Now we have choice of speech what we want to make them familiar. But I must say, Mansi’s way of teaching lingo is excellent. These tips gonna help us to develop fluency in our munchkins 😊

@@bandanamishra408 correct. I was not in debate. I appreciate her a lot for every videos. I just put my thoughts here that it's good to teach English but nowadays I m seeing so many kids here that they are forgetting their language and English is just a language we shouldn't rush for it... Kids will learn themselves in school

    • @yavishivi2711

@@swatisharaj3786 in school he must be talking in English only, don't worry he is just 4, he will pick up the language fluency of English also, at home let him be as u all speak at home. In Bangalore u might have seen all kids with their friends they all speak in English because all are from different places. So don't worry. At home speak as whole family speaks don't bother about English.

Very good video. My son is 4 years old. He can speak very well. I taught him like any other language not like "English". He learnd english ad he learned Bengali (mother tounge) and Hindi. I believe kid must learn His/her Mother Tounge first than any other language.

    Hi,
My son showed lot of interest towards learning english. From the very beginning we always used english words plus hindi. Teach the child word by word. Suppose your in kitchen, it's very obvious that the child will also join you . while talking use some english words, simple english sentences , ask the child to sometimes repeat the sentence or word. When the child repeats appreciate the child don't laugh even if it's wrong. Appreciate the child and tell the correct word or sentence.
Children are always curious about learning new things.
My child infact shows interests in learning other languages.
If the child tells some wrong words or sentence,
Pls appreciate the child and tell the correct sentence or word.
Guys pls don't laugh at the child.
Sometimes the child uses the word like "potting, khaing " 😊hassi toh aati hai but we need to appreciate and tell them the correct word.
    Encourage your child a lot.

Yes I think focusing on listening skills is imp, most kids watch cartoons, we can’t deny this, so let them watch English cartoons, they may ask to change initially, but eventually as they start understanding few words, they will watch. This really helps.

Great tips.... i taught my kid her mother tongue and she did not know any English other than immediate environment knowledge until she started school....
now she's in pre- primary... 4 yrs old and she speaks english, Hindi and her mother tongue very well... Had I taught her only English she would not have learnt her own mother tongue..
Kids always learn English and local languages from schools but if u don't teach them their own mother tongue they'll never learn it.... English tho they'll definitely learn in school.... Once they start school u can start teaching them ..Just my personal view... It's always good to learn more languages.. isn't it..

People commenting here opposing English language later on their kids struggle to crack basic interviews and loose confidence and then they regret if they could have taught their child English... I dont understand why people think English is only for abroad countries and not india... In order to let our child work in our own country and not go outside we need to learn english and grab Abroad countries attention so that we have many companies in India itself so that we are paid well in India itself.. If we do not have skills then nobody is gonna give us Job..
Also not only english in order to earn more we need to learn other languages as well its a very good thing to explore not just for money. Thanks Mansi for your tips this is really greatful, i donot have child but i am 6.5 months pregnant and impressed with the way you and your husband communicate and teach your child. Please do not stop sharing such informations this is really helpful for new mothers like me who wants to teach their child and need guidance from you guys.

Learning a language has nothing to do with screening and making them speak. There's a difference between learning a language and understanding it. English is a complex language. Being a teacher living in England and an early years Educator I can suggest that, let them listen to family members in particular parents speak a particular language that will help them to pick words. Use complete and easy basic phrases and wait for them to respond. Don't correct them as this is difficult for them especially those who aren't native speakers. Thirdly, let them listen as much as possible such as short stories, bed time stories or be it rhymes. Fourth, read and read and read as much as possibly you can as reading is one of the most effective ways to help children Learn a language. It's more important for children to enjoy the process rather forcing them out of pressure from society to learn. Learning a different language takes time however if its started early, it can enhance their learning and many speak far more better than native speakers. Rest let them enjoy and don't follow rat race. Peace ✌️❤️

I totally agree with your points and I have 2 kids but I encourage them 2 pick different types of words which means the same in different languages my emphasis is not on getting them fluent in just one language but adapting the skills to learn different languages that way they are bilingual or multilingual.
Also I agree don't correct them instead just let them critically think and implement or improvise gradually.

Nice video, but problem is that, if we learn them English, then when we ll learn hindi or our regional language, these are also essential, after that if we mix all language to learn, then child brain is not able to analyse so child are don't speaking anything and silent up to 5 years,, this pblm also occurs now a days

I can't understand why to make them learn English?Child will feel connected with hindi or our regional language too,yes English become global language I never forced my kid to learn English still she is able to speak English Hindi and Marathi too,let them enjoy their childhood, don't force them tooo much to learn English,we should make them emotinally and mentally strong, give them your time and affection rest of the things they will learn gradually in given environment

    • @MomComIndia
      @MomComIndia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

When you say “don’t force them”- are you assuming that we have forced our child to learn English? Or is it bad choice of words in a sentence…if it’s the first then you don’t know us to make that judgement, if it’s the latter then precisely the reason kids need to learn the language early to avoid such unforced errors in their communication.

    • @gulorasworld6987
      @gulorasworld6987 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Why are you taking it personally?don't be compulsive,I said very clearly that we should not force child at this age,and the way people are panic to learn English is not good. May be its your personal choice to make them learn in this way,but I am not at all agree with your opinion.and I have full right to show my disagreement here, same you have also.
I believe to let the child live and learn in given natural environment,I just don't like to be artificial(it's my choice)

Me too doing as you are saying since I conceived my daughter. But this video encouraged me more. Sometimes, family circumstances, and surroundings make us lag behind, but still I am doing my bit to make my daughter think in English. As English was not my cup of tea, until I got into job. After coming into job Only I got exposure to english. Earlier I hv hesitation speaking in English, which I think I still hv , stage fear, public speaking. I don't want this to happen with my daughter ever. Thats why I hv started this from the day she's born. Now she's 2.5 yrs old. I m working hard and putting efforts, whatever I can do in the available time to teach my kid think in English.
