    Gosh, Angie, what would I do without you? You flipped the script on foundations for us women who have tried different formulations, and brands, in search of the 'Holy Grail'. Your videos are top-shelf! Keep them coming!

    I'm only 31 but I love your channel. Your reviews are excellent and I appreciate that they're so real. I have more textured skin that a lot of women my age so younger youtubers reviews aren't always helpful. Also, I love that there isn't any pettiness from your commenters. You're doing a great job. Thanks!

    I think the "In the sun" test is the true one and it looks pretty good! You don't look like you have makeup sitting on your face! That's what I like. Good luck to your daughter. Exciting time!

    After viewing yesterday, I purchased this - and I love it! This foundation, applied with a damp blender, looks fantastic on my 50-ish skin. I would have never known if not for your channel. Thanks so much! !

    I've been using this for months, I use the damp sponge to apply. I love it. I'm 62, not very oily, so it works great for me. Have a great weekend. Lv Dee

    I'm glad you reviewed this one. I've had it in my cart several times but never completed the purchase because I've only saw it demonstrated on younger ladies. I'm 37 but have aging issues in some areas that I prefer not to accentuate.

    I'm a fan of the Milani foundation for a drugstore brand, and agree it's definitely best applied with a Beauty Blender. I've found it runs golden/dark, so for those choosing a shade, it's prob best to buy a shade lighter than you think you'd use.

    Hi Angie, I recently turned 57 and decided that my foundation wasn't doing the trick for me anymore so while researching product reviews for foundations, I ran across this video of yours on the Milani 2 in 1 foundation with concealer. I tried it for the first time today and it turned out to be a very good color match. I'm glad that you took the time to test the product thoroughly for us, it made the difference on whether I wanted to try it. Thanks!

    What you are always calling "shiny" is dewy looking and very nice! Dewy, reflective skin is far more youthful and fresh-looking compared to a matte (dull and lifeless-looking) finish!

    • @18daisydoll65
      @18daisydoll65 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wait, my lovely until you get into your fifties!!! Shiny/dewy magnifies pores, less than smooth texture and pigmentation..... Velvet or satin is much more flattering.... Even little cutie pies don't have shiny skin😻

    • @sacuster1
      @sacuster1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Think of paint finishes. High gloss paint looks wonderful on smooth perfect unmarred surfaces like doors and cabinets (like young skin), but when the surface is less than perfect like walls with ripples or small cracks or pitting uneven surfaces(more mature skin, sun damaged or scarred skin) the high gloss really emphasizes the imperfections. On imperfect surfaces you want to use an eggshell finish that has some light reflective qualities but disguises imperfections and gives the appearance of a smooth finish without being flat. The same theory applies to mature skin, damaged skin or scarred skin. Us older ladies can use SUBTLE highlighters placed on small strategic areas of our less than perfect skin to highlight our bone structure ( bone structure does not change or sag with age). Next time you happen to be in a store that sales paint, look at their sample board of all the different paint finishes there are and you will get an idea of what I'm talking about. Keep wearing that sunblock all over yourself and take care of your skin as best as you can and you will be able to wear that shiny, dewy foundation for a long time!

      +sacuster1 I love the example difference you gave. Over the years, I've had to change formulations in foundation several times, due to changes I went through. Now, I have to mix foundations just to get the right shade. Nothing wears perfect for the long hours you can wear it---at 47, I still have super oily skin. Thought that would change during the aging process. Again, love how you expressed yourself in your post. 😊

      +MzNoemi Thank you. I also have to mix and match and "tweek" products now that I am over 50. My skin does a total change up between the colder months and warmer months in south Texas! Winter brings tight dry dehydrated skin that just seems to have the life sucked right out of it and spring, summer and part of fall turns it into combination skin that has an oil slick for a t zone. I too thought my skin would change much more since I'm in perimenopause, but I only notice that I am more dehydrated at times. During the winter i wear much less foundation because it looks so bad on my winter skin.

    Did my mothers (56yrs) make up and we live in the Texas heat where for once she never had to retouch all day👍Thought I would share our application picks for you --we used
    NYX Angel veil primer,
    main pump of Milani foundation with a dab of Loreal Lumi helped it smooth and youthful glow from within. Did application was fingers and beauty blender. After finishing her full face used the Smashbox photo finish primer water.
    She has combination skin and was shocked that she never retouched blush or powder!! She has other mall prestige foundations but I am glad this worked for her running around town in the summer heat looking great! .

    Thanks Angie for all your reviews on foundations. I am 47 yrs and fighting aging every step of the way. I really like your comprehensive foundation reviews. I like that you give an overview, as well as application, and time elapsed longevity of each. There is a foundation I just began using as I'm trying some new procedures and looking for a foundation that will be good post treatment. Oxygenetics Foundation. You can find this in many facial plastic offices or derm offices that do lasers. I like the science behind this formulations.

    "Gotta do what you gotta do to test these foundations" Lol!!!!! I may have said this before, but as a younger woman than your target audience (I'll be 36 in August) I still find your information to be relevant for my own skin needs/desires. I've been able to steer my mom to some nice skincare/makeup options I wouldn't be able to had I not found your channel, since you do such a fantastic job testing everything that I would like to but can't! With my volatile skin it would go absolutely bonkers if I used so many different products lol!

    Hi Angie, thanks so much for all your amazing tips, you are an inspiration! Just wanted to share something with everyone that got me excited today. I mixed 2 drops of almond oil to my regular drug store foundation and I loved the way it made my skin look dewy and younger looking. I am 52 and have dry skin and my skin can look a bit flat and lifeless when foundation is applied, so this method really suits me. It might not suit those with very oily skin. But I love it! I used a damp sponge to apply and used it on my eyelid and surrounding area. I can report that it made the eyelid area look much smoother, as I have crepey, hooded eyes - this was an unexpected BIG plus! I bought a cheap oil from a health store with a dropper so it's easier to dispense. You can use Jojoba, almond or any kind of oil but I've read that lavender oil is not so good. Looking forward to your next video! xxx

    Hi Angie! Great review, I would really like to try this foundation now. I wanted to tell you... if you lightly blot with oil control papers before you touch up with powder, your foundation will look better longer. For me, removing some oil first keeps the foundation from breaking down as fast. Give it a try! Also, I need to try the IT loose powder, it always looks great when you use it. Thank you!

    Wow, you put so much work into your reviews. I love how you applied it in different ways. Personally I never use my beauty blender. It scares me lol. I have a very oily face plus I live in Florida so I probably won't try this one as I have heard oily girls saying it doesn't work for them. But I do think it really looked very nice on you- especially on that last try with setting powder and setting spray. What a nice pool! Have a lovely day Angie! ❤️

    "Low luster satin finish"... sounds like paint! (-:
    The lower numbers were still yellow, Angie. I tried the Creamy Vanilla, which was the lightest shade and, as the name suggests, there was a yellow base. And that is the one that is supposed to be for "fair skin with cool undertones".

    I’m a little late to this party, but I bought this foundation this week and have used it several times. Angie, I love the details of your reviews and thank you! I’m still not sure about this foundation. I bougjt the same shade as you and it may be a tad too dark. Still looking for a HG drug store foundation for mature skin.

    Great review, as always. Very thorough and informative. I've been waiting for a review on this for dry and "older than 40" Skin. So, thanks.

    I think the foundation looks great. If you normally wear a primer and set your makeup then its really great in comparison. I need to try this. I just got the Becca full coverage foundation so I'm curious to see how long it wears. Love your videos.

    Love this series. Would you consider doing a foundation Friday on the Lancome Teint Idole ultra 24 hour long wear foundation? Although I'm really considering biting the bullet and buying the Chanel foundation, I need a Holy Grail in my 40 y/o life! 😆😆

    Thanks for the review. I just bought this foundation this morning. Thanks for all the info. I did buy the Milani primer to use with it. So hopefully that will help with the wear.

    I have that foundation but I think rather than pulling the cap off, I twisted it off and I kept think what a weird applicator. I think that's because the end of the pump tube is what I've been using. When I get home tonight I'm going to see if I have a pump under the cap! Have you tried the L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Foundation? That one is also really nice for a drug store.

    💗Love your foundation Fridays. I really need a holy grail foundation. Would you please consider La Prarie conceal foundation, I know it's pricy, but if it covers, doesn't sit in lines & wrinkles it might be the holy grail😄
