This makes zero sense. She doesn't have a car, is she supposed to hijack a car to drive her MIL somewhere ??? Really?? This MIL is nuts. She thinks Jamie is going to guve the baby to her?? Fat chance. At least son stood up for her.
12:00 NOOOOOOO! OP! Don't tell her WHERE you are! OK, here is what you do, when you are skipping town to get away from an abusive person. Ready? Here we go: If possible, go somewhere she'll never think to look, such as an old friend she's never even met, or better yet, the friend she KNOWS about, but also knows you had a falling out with her, and would never go to HER for help. Like, the witch who stole your former boyfriend (thus freeing you up to marry Hubby), and she KNOWS you hate her. Tell the friend, "I don't think we'll ever be great friends again, but I can at least stop hating you, if you help me, now." OR, if you can afford it, go to a hotel, and tell them, "Someone is literally trying to hurt me, so I'm hiding from them. I will SHOW YOU my ID, but you will NOT scan it into your system, because HACKERS GET PEOPLE KILLED. I'll use a fake name." And if they don't agree, then you go to a No Tell Motel, where they don't care who you are, and every John Smith pays by the hour. Bring your own sheets and a rubber mattress pad. Then, OP, block her number, everywhere. DO NOT contact her to tell her that you are blocking her. Just do it. And when you are done, get your Hubby to write ONE TEXT to her: "Mom, you crossed the line. We are going NO CONTACT with you, for AT LEAST ONE YEAR. I will contact you, when I'm ready. If you track me down, before then, and try to contact me first, then it will be at least TWO years. If you contact OP or our child, AT ALL, without me being physically present and having personally arranged the visit, then it will be at least FIVE years. I'm SERIOUS. GOODBYE!" Then, your OP finds a new place for your family to live, while you are hiding out, and handles the move, while you're waiting to give birth, so that once the baby is born, you two can SAFELY GO HOME (to your new home). DO NOT GIVE THE ADDRESS TO ANYONE YOUR MIL KNOWS. And if you can, minimalize, so that moving again will be as simple and easy as possible. Keep all your important documents in an easy-to-grab-and-go location (such as a small lockbox), and anything that has so much sentimental value you cannot bear to leave it behind, you put in a safety deposit box at a bank, and visit it, from time to time. Think of what you'd save, if the house caught on fire, and there were no living creatures in it, and you had the luxury of saving just a few actual items. Save those, in advance, by storing them somewhere else. Then, if MIL EVER shows up at your new place, you "burn it to the ground," by grabbing your To Go Kit, and leaving. Find a new place, and sell the old place AS IS, furniture and all, and start over (you'll need to save up a substantial amount of money to do this, but if you never need to use it, then you can use the savings, with interest, to pay for the kid's college fund). In short, be ready to bolt, at a moment's notice, if she ever tracks you down, and consider all the stuff you left behind as being "lost in the fire." Oh, and find one of those people who buy houses, as is, complete with mess inside, and clean them out, themselves. They handle estate sales, and stuff like that. They allow you to just WALK AWAY, quickly, from a house, taking only what you absolutely need, and letting them handle everything else. Find such a person in advance and be ready. Your heart will feel lighter, knowing that you CAN simply walk away. But even if you never do all that other sneaky stuff, NEVER, EVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ACTUALLY TELL YOUR MIL WHERE YOU ARE STAYING!
Why wasn't she criminally charged for damaging the neighbor's car? Where I live, property damage of 20K is a Class 2 felony because the damage is greater than 10K but not more than 100K, she'd face 3 to 7 years in jail and a fine of up to 25K.
🎵Amelia was Jamie's MIL / the former gave the latter hell / even a bun in the oven / didn't pave the way for lovin' / such a vicious monster-in-law / fireworks were flyin' in that fight / Amelia's punches almost made a baby die / that's why the son in this story is cuttin' ties / but I don't mean with his wife / but his mom / Amelia was wrong / dead wrong as can be🎵 (to the tune of "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot since opera was mentioned at the beginnin' of this story)
The MIL tried to cause trouble for her brother's family and tried to do the same thing with her nephew's wife but the woman was not having it and beat the crap out of her and they told her that she will be sleeping in the barn. She was served poop for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She had to eat crap after attempting to cause trouble. She was going nuts in the barn and then the nephew's wife came in with a nightstick and beat her down. the MIL is now quiet and scared.
Your channel is such a positive and uplifting space, thank you for that.
I believe that parents should be ready to accept the SO of their offspring quickly. For me, if my child chose that person then so will I!
Agreed
She forcibly broke in? That should have been 12 Gauge time, much less call the police.
Why didn't she call the police?

A monster in law
Some people are expecting things of others that are unreasonable but they act as if it's natural

MIL has no right to order her DIL around under any circumstances, but especially not with pregnancy.

What planet do these people live on and who died and made dear MIL god why should the DIL be at her beck and call no matter what.
