  • Welcome back to the channel! Today marks 6 months since I stopped drinking alcohol.
This video is really my top 5 benefits of stopping drinking, not really the reason I stopped. I wanted to keep this video under 5 minutes(close enough). I will make a full video explaining everything at my 1 year of sobriety :).
Thanks for watching. Much love and God bless!

I'm on day 78. I was putting down a bottle of tequila a night, waking up at 6, working all day, coaching little league, a true functioning alcoholic, my family had no clue how bad it was. I'm never going back, these videos are so helpful. Like an AA support group inside my phone.

I agree that all those things happened for me too. Congrats on sobriety. As for someone thats 4 years and 4 months sober, I’ll say it keeps getting better, and eventually sobriety becomes normal and you dont even think about it much. Bg thing for me is it taught me how to handle all the ups and downs in life, in a healthy way, and with a sharp mind. Sobriety is priceless because of how beneficial it is👌

I freaking love this. The anxiety and mental clarity thing is definitely spot on. I am not sober. I used to be a drunk, now.. I hardly drink, maybe 4 drinks a month. I typically do regret drinking in one single drink, I immediately get a headache afterwards and about an hour later I am super tired. I really need to just stop all together. Anyway, keep it up bro!

This is awesome man, thank you for sharing your insights. I finally decided to quit drinking and have been sober for 6 weeks now. I gave up liquor years ago and stuck with beer and wine(once in a while). My beer intake was steadily increasing, and up to the point before I quit altogether I was consuming three 24oz beer cans, plus two to three 12oz beers every night in the last 4-5 years. My sister was a hardcore alcoholic and she ended up dying at a young age from it almost 2 years ago. Fast forward to today, my mom just passed from cancer last week. Last month when she went into the hospital and I got that call at work was the day I decided to quit. I stayed every night at the hospital with her, up until she was moved to hospice. 10 days later, she passed. As hard as it has been dealing with her loss, I remain sober and choose to. There have been a couple instances I was tempted to have a few beers, but the next morning I woke up and was glad I didn't. All I can say is I'm leaning on Jesus and looking to Him.

Turned 70 last month, heavy drinker since my mid teens. Stopped drinking 20 months ago and have never felt better. Sleep great, blood pressure back to normal, brain fog gone, more energy and have more money in my pocket. First few months were tough as it’s been a lifelong habit but no way will I ever drink again.

I started doing drugs since my teenage. Got addicted to fentanyl for over 6 years. Fentanyl addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not

Ive done shrooms last month in my house. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. Shrooms to me is a remedy not a vice. I even felt more refreshed the
morning after. So no hangovers. No
depression mood for days. No anxiety.I now

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them
again, either. I wish there was a good,
organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

2.5 months in, best I've had since 10 years and the first time lifestyle and peace replaced temptations. Stimulated from many new options for daily routine, plenty to do, plenty to love through life's adventures. Safe to say going sober today takes heroic courage that a human being is capable of by design. The mind heals with neurogenesis, so accompany sobriety with upping sustainable daily physicals activity (even a simple walk) and superfoods nutrients (a lot of affordable $20+ plant protein mixes and what not) for a serious advantage in staying sober. Don't just "quit" and that's it - up the motions, up the nutrition and there's a more profound effect for the subconscious to start integrating and accepting beyond alcohol.
I've noticed my whole perspective of life and wellbeing have improved tremendously, even after the first month.
Many people are also trying to go sober, merely humoring it and perhaps uncertain about the approach, yet the glory really is going sober - do it, explore it, have faith in the self courage.

Bless you Bro. All of what you share in this video are 100% true according to my personal experience as well. Alcohol DOES CAUSE anxiety and the day after drinking I recall times as if the whole world seemed so bleak and appeared to collapse on me although there was in fact nothing to worry get stressed about. This happens even when things are on track imagine how’d you feel when they are not! My 9th day of staying away from it.

    Drinking = Issues
I like many love drinking but 99% of my issues in life are due to drinking. Since I have all but stopped I have zero issues. I have been able to enjoy 1-2 beers now and walk away and wake up remembering all, far cry from my usual habits of 20+ beers then no memory of my night. I used to be fine with it but as I aged my body cannot deal with it and the result is stupid decisions.
Make the choice to stop or cut back if you can, I am lucky in that I can enjoy a couple and stop now and have been doing for a year now with success so lesson learned for me.
Good luck and stay the line, its great when you are free of it and clear minded.

@@breakingandentering Thanks, same to all! It has been a long road and a lot of soul searching but I realized no one else was to blame for my actions. Once I came to grips with that and stopped blaming others and took ownership I started to heal up. So far things have been great and I am able to recognize when I get that urge. I will admit there are times I get tempted but I take a step back and remind myself of the past and it keeps me on a good path forward. I think once realized how great life is without drinking and how bad it was when I took it too far is when I knew what I had to do. I wish all the same luck, we all can make it we just need to dig deep inside and come to terms with our demons.

I dont feel have a dependancy, I can stop for a month + with ease but dont give me three and tell me thats enough! For me the big reward is simply waking on a Saturday or Sunday, absolutely fresh, no brain fuzz Mondays or Tuesdays. The difficult part is social events, i avoid them because they dont seem as exiting... il try find that happy balance elsewhere

I like your update. I'm about the same time in. Best decision of my life. I describe my mental state as "smooth". Theres no rough edges or friction. I think the constant state of toxic purging our bodies have to be in when drinking really causes deep stress. We just say oh it a hangover but it try is poisoning.
I drink an N.A. if I'm socially bored or uncomfortable but they are pretty gross. Kinda leaving that behind as well. Funny how it all starts to fade and make way for a whole new better world.

6/4/2024 will be 7 years for me I figure I've saved over $30,000 not drinking that's $100 a week I'm down 130lbs with the help of a low carb keto diet. I'm 64 and was able to retire today. Not drinking gave me my life back.

You´ve nailed it with " you have to tell you that you´re done with it". I made it 3 years sober, but I relapsed for 3 years and now I´m sober again after New Years Eve.
Biggest part for me is to imagine going through my whole rest of my life sober. Drinking for 35 years makes that hard to fathom.
Anyways... your channel deserves more subscribers for sure:) Best Regards from Germany

Me too, drinking for 35 years, sober periods on and off, you are setting yourself up to fail imagining not drinking for the rest of your life. Tell yourself you're not drinking today, each day, and feel proud of yourself when you don't drink that day. Also, don't have that first drink, it will lower your inhibitions and you'll drink more. Take it day by day. I wish you the best!!

@@Livinginacardboardbox I went middle of the road vs saying ‘the rest of my life…”
I turned 60 and I told myself ok no drinking for that decade. I want to see if I can really make it one of the best decades of my life.
Then if I’m not enjoying it or feel something missing, I’ll have a big whiskey when I turn 70 😂
      Im 72 days in 🥹

Went almost 2 weeks no alcohol. Thats was big for me. Bought a bottle of champagne two nights ago. Im glad I did. It only reinforced my outlook on it that i’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. It really is a waste if time energy and health. sure it’s fun for a few hours but you wake up looking like crap and feeling like crap and I’m just tired of living like that.

Love it. Feel the same way. I was hooked on 99 proof shooters. I'm oddly enough a bodybuilder physique and work out every day and eat meals that are pre-prepped. It was always weird that I was able to do that, but I couldn't stop drinking. I would have 4 to 6 a day and maybe 8 a day on weekends. I drank 5 to 7 days a week. I was probably 13% body fat at the time and I lost 16 pounds in the first 40 days. It was insane. I used the book, "Quit Drinking without Willpower." by Alan Carr after seeing it on Joe Rogan. Amazing book. I felt the same about everything you said. Alcohol SUCKS and it should be illegal!

For those who may be trying to stop drinking for the first time or the 50th, the most important thing to know is that focusing on stopping or quitting is a recipe for failure! Our focus must be on the root problem...Self! If we don't change, all of the white knuckling, gritting our teeth, and having a death grip on the steering wheel will eventually fail. All the best...Mark 5/8/1994

Yes, congratulations on quitting alcohol, but even more so for realizing how toxic both the MSM and social media are to our mental health and for stopping those, too. Wishing you every success on your healing journey.
I haven’t owned a tv in decades, don’t watch, listen to or read any so called “news”. Except for gootube been off all social media for at least ten years.
    Cheers

I am big time struggling with alcohol. I lost my morals, my integriety, my shame, my love for people. I was just in deep and solid with the “the liquid devil/Lucifer and a whole lot of demons. It was a war in was in with myself. I lost so much. I got obses, bummed, begged people for a loan till payday. Everyone knew I was an alcoholic. And I started being a daily and nightly and big time black out weekend drinking. I should have died so many times. I even could have been abducted raped and murder all for alcohol. I was a narrassistic demon. I never thought my life would ever turn out to be this way. I hurt the people I love the most, my beautiful, long-suffering family. I scared them to death where it affected their health and ability to even sleep. I got soberish. I loved the feeling of not having to suffer abominable anxiety and constant fear, except when I drank. When you get older it takes days to get any energy back, and a sense of sanity instead of fear and paranoia. I so related to this youtube and this young man. Wow. He is done. Oh what a freedom. And you can’t beat freedom. And maybe starting to have “hope”, where there was NO HOPE, and to start liking myself, just even a baby fingernail of like being a good person. So, it has happened. I fell off the wagon and enjoyed being served by a bartender. I thought I was a movie star. Even drinking alone was stopping all my sadness over this world. I like that this man said he stopped watching TV and Internet???? Whooziers. So, I am having a beautiful sunny, hot week this June 12th, 2024 week. And I cannot go for a walk. I am a prisoner in my own dark, cold apartment. I live in a basement apartment where the greedy rich Toronto company that owns my building has stopped giving heat. And heat is part of my contract. It is in my rent. But, they have good lawyers, because they are getting away with it. And with the cost of rents I cannot even move to the poor side of town for lower rents. I wear a downfilled coat over my pyjamas and housecot when I sit and watch tv and the internet, even in the summer. Welcome to 2024, and before. I do get a sliver, not even, of heat in the winter. But, my radiator does not even feel warm. Just a tiny baby bit of lukewarm???? So, if I go for a walk, I am tempted to go to a bar or a liquor store in Canada. And I cannot not take money. So, I just stay locked inside while it is gorgeous out. And I am giving up one of my favorite, what I love most😉, or so I think I do, a beautiful sunny beach day. There have been many vacations on the beach where I was drunk all the time. So happy to be on vacation. Anyway. I believe I was meant to see this youtube with this young man. I am so impressed with how cool you are. Now you can spend quality time with Jesus. No Lucifer liquid devil. It ruins your whole life. It steals everything good. I am subscribed now to this youtube, and because I am retired, and got gifted this ipad, I got the internet. ( There are pros and cons to having the internet. I watch dog rescues and I just cannot stop, unless I get rid of the internet. I was too poor before to have a tv and cable and any kinda computer and internet, because I spent all my money on booze. Never even ever owned, nor paid monthly for a cell phone. I will check this youtube out, because it seems like this excellent alpha male with a heart of gold may post more and I really like listening to him. I hope someone will teach me this week, if I can watch this man talk again on another youtube. Hey bro, you rock. God bless you. You are an inspiration. I was going to walk to the liquor store. 🙌🙅‍♀️🧔‍♀️🙏🙇‍♀️🧔‍♀️🫶🫵. No more🍻🍷. Not today. I pray I do not cave into this temptation going on inside of me, because of this beautiful day on the east coast of Canada. Alcoholism🤮🤑🤕👹👺😈👿👎.
