When mine came home, my wife had the exact same reaction as Lee: that the pick guard looks like a pile of autumn leaves. I said i thought it looks like the photos of the surface of the sun. I know they're divisive, but I think they look fantastic. A great variant on the traditional tortoiseshell.
I'm glad you guys are talking about proper posture. It's so important for the longevity of your guitar playing. When you're young, you can get away with bad posture, but it'll catch up with you later, as it did for me.
Lee's playing is free and quite melodically tasty when he's jamming. 5 he demos a guitar, he falls back into that old blues lick he worked so hard to get away from. Keep it up, Lee. Your chops are pretty nice!
I ordered the white Strat and it will be here in 2 days. Bought the Acoustasonic Strat 5 months ago plus the same case (I don't do gig bags), now this. Love the vids gents, and I finally subbed
I immediately thought oxymoron . Sorry to hear you are a lefty . I imagine your choices are limited by companies not making many guitars for gifted people . Cheers mate from Australia .
I have my various Fender strats and tellys, I'm here mostly to hear Pete play. Lee is just getting better as time goes on. Don't think they mentioned the fretboard material, but the first strat definitely has a pau ferro board. I'm not into tone wood, but I do have preferences in esthetics. I have a couple Classic Vibes with rosewood boards. Why Fender does this really mystifies me.
The word oxymoron popped into my head but that isn't it I don't think. Oxymoron is where the name typically means one thing but is used for the opposite, so Raising a building to the ground is an oxymoron. I think a better suited word would be 'synonymous' but even then I don't think that fits perfectly because that's just where you say one word and could instantly think of the other. Things like Metal and Metallica some people could consider synonymous, potentially. Sorry, thinking of the word was bugging me and then looked here to find the answer. Hope you all have a good day :)
I love Mr Captains enthusiasm towards guitar playing and especially the focus on soloing. I bet that he wouldnt notice if the world would end around him in the middle of good blues solo. I love this duo❤
Lee, there's a product call the "Performaxe" that clips on to the bottom of your guitar and raises it up so you can sit comfortably and play without hunching over in an awkward position. Highly recommended. I can play for hours now without pain. (I'm not affiliated with the company in any way).
My back is bad lately too . Cannot sit down to play so light is good. I tried a tens machine (an electric device for pain relief) Made my Tel and Strat bridge pickups buzz But not the neck pickups ! Gibson pickups fine even the P90 in my LPJ Sorry if you read all this lol
Transparent daphne blue on an ash body is pretty much my dream strat... Though I hate the pickguards on these. They don't complement each other at all.
That Suona Strat has about the best sounding bridge pickup I've heard in a Strat. I generally find the bridge pickup just about useless on a Strat, but that one is very sweet and musical, much like a Tele bridge pickup when you find one that isn't an ice-pick. Interesting guitars.
I find that Thinlines generally sound resonant in a way I enjoy, without being microphonic like a true hollowbody. I try not to go by individual instruments, as minor setup details can affect tone, and you can find duds of any type.
I’m a new electric player and what I don’t understand is how they avoid recording the 60Hz noise from the single coil pickups. I have a really nice Strat and a quality tube amp and that hum is pretty obvious. Are they getting rid of the hum in post production?
@@martym3815 for sure. I’d love to see a production-themed video from them. I’m still new to all of this. I understand that pickups have inherent noise but I’d sure love to see their set up !
@bobgamble8204 hate to be 'that guy' who keeps this going, but... words - and guitars 😀 I honestly thought Lee suggested that and he said no. TBH, I'm not even sure dichotomy is what he was looking for. I think he said something about being simultaneously similar AND different, and there's not really a word for that as far as I know. Like you say, who knows, but I sure wish I did.
I always laugh when people say that the wood makes no difference (and are actually serious about it). I'm like "Sure, that's why a Les Paul, SG, V and 335 all sound exactly the same" 🤦🏻♂️🤣
I tried a piano bench to make it easier to sit near the floor and adjust pedal knobs and it ended up being the perfect solution. I’ve never found a “guitar” chair that is comfortable/ergonomic. Piano bench, who knew?
Have a thought for me with my all maple 78 Fender Precision Bass. I've not accurately weighed it but must be well over 10 lbs as it maxes out my 4.5kg scales.
I love my Guild Bluesbird, but I wish it was thicker and had an F hole. QUESTION, does the F hole in these guitars effect tone? Is it acoustically audibly louder?
Love these vids but i"m frustrated (and my wife dosn't care...🙄 ) can you please direct me to the soulfull backing track you played along with at the begining.... please.
The bridge on that Tele is not on by itself, I am sure. Probably B+N (series), B+N (parallel), N. I am guessing there’s a hidden switch somewhere they didn’t find
Lovely sounding but thinline Strats Teles never fail to throw me for a loop. (In a good way). Still not used to em when I see em.❤ Lee “Sounds like a Strat” Pete” plays THAT intro 😅❤😂
Actually I think the phrase Pete might be looking for is "gilding the lily," which comes from _King John_ and refers to going to extraordinary effort to make something that is already great only incrementally better. (The original context was a re-coronation ceremony for King John, which Salisbury went to great lengths to describe as "wasteful and ridiculous excess.")
before anyone asks NO! Fender will not make any of these guitars 🎸 in a left handed version, and that’s coming from a fellow left handed guitarist myself,if you want a awesome lefty strat or tele guitar go check out Schecter and Kiesel two companies that actually cares about the left handed community
The scratch plate looks like a plate of Baked Beans from a distance! 😂
I'll never unsee this
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just need a sticker of an egg to stick on it for tone and to complete the breakfast theme.
Maybe the body should be toast coloured? 🤔
Pete was just killing it at the very beginning. What juicy Strat tones, man!

Exactly listen to this folks.
Gtfooh, posture is completely irrelevant and nothing bad will happen for completely ignoring it.
Nice Guitars, I used to have a thin line tele once. Liked it.
The shoulder and neck problems will move down to the wrists and hands if you’re not careful. Sit up straight like your Mema used to say.
@@trevorD1156I hope that was sarcasm but on TH-cam I doubt it 😂
Pete's blues lick 8 minutes in is perfection.
captains playing really coming along
Killer solo in the intro by the captain!
Those violin burst finishes are very pretty. Nice playing as always.
Lee's playing is free and quite melodically tasty when he's jamming. 5 he demos a guitar, he falls back into that old blues lick he worked so hard to get away from. Keep it up, Lee. Your chops are pretty nice!
I can only guess for some reason he holds back when Pete is in the room, Just barely plays the dam guitar. It's a little annoying honestly
I ordered the white Strat and it will be here in 2 days. Bought the Acoustasonic Strat 5 months ago plus the same case (I don't do gig bags), now this. Love the vids gents, and I finally subbed
I think the word Pete was looking for is 'oxymoron'. Those Suonas are special, I'd buy one immediately if they made lefties.
I immediately thought oxymoron . Sorry to hear you are a lefty . I imagine your choices are limited by companies not making many guitars for gifted people . Cheers mate from Australia .

I think he was looking for the word dichotomy
We definitely need more Pete playing jazz.
Great sounding guitars and the Captain is on fire!
Love when you just go through Fender and Boss/Roland products 😊
That Strat tone in the intro is mega sounding!
"same same but different" = quandary. love you pete❤❤
Love the "Deliverance" / Duelling Banjos quote ;)
Screams like a pig.

Why not just wear a strap sitting down
Suona Tele is nice! Ebony board - yes!
I love that daphne blue stratocaster from intro jam!
pete is ripping it up in the intro, love it
Captain with killer tone on the intro!!
Best of fender, my opinion! Nice playing guys!
Ed Bickert also played jazz on a tele, the less is more guy and an awesome player.
You guys are such a joy to watch! Not only great playing and descriptions, but you are just so darn funny. Likey & Subscribey 😆
These guitars are superb!

Yep my tens machine does the same lol
Oh man those sound great!!!

Pretty cheap fix to put another scratch plate on.

@@martym3815 for sure. I’d love to see a production-themed video from them. I’m still new to all of this. I understand that pickups have inherent noise but I’d sure love to see their set up !
Man I want one those thinlines!!! They look and sound amazing.... but out of my budget :(
Damn! I still want a thinline Tele with a Tele pup in the bridge and a humbucker in the neck. I think this would be a perfect setup.
Great ep!
It sounds to me like the Suona Tele has faulty wiring. The bridge and middle position are the same. Can't get the bridge on it's own.
I think you're right. A guitar with 2 positions almost the same is not a feature. It's a fault.
Dear Pete,
Dichotomy
You're welcome.
Best wishes,
T
I thought he meant oxymoron to be honest. Who knows what's going on in that head lol
@bobgamble8204 hate to be 'that guy' who keeps this going, but... words - and guitars 😀 I honestly thought Lee suggested that and he said no. I was thinking paradox.

Tim Lerch, Bill Frisell also jazz guitarists that play teles
Love Thinline
A thinline strat 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The thumb nail, ‘ Imreally like these’
Keep real boys, please.
I always laugh when people say that the wood makes no difference (and are actually serious about it). I'm like "Sure, that's why a Les Paul, SG, V and 335 all sound exactly the same" 🤦🏻♂️🤣
Sound different due to scale length differences, pickup positions etc. Wood is not in the equation.
Nope go watch Jim Lill and 🎶 just stop believing 🎶. Tone wood is silly. Please stop.
We’re all laughing at you not with you.
I wondered if you were going to add A hole. Glad you threw that in there.
PARADOX, PETE ❤
I think he meant Oxymoron :) but paradox would work too
Double entendre.
Anachronism is probably what he was looking for.
I tried a piano bench to make it easier to sit near the floor and adjust pedal knobs and it ended up being the perfect solution. I’ve never found a “guitar” chair that is comfortable/ergonomic. Piano bench, who knew?
I roll my eyes every time I hear those Mayer licks.

Do you roll up left or right?
Sunburst blackguard Strat ... MINE !!!
pull push turns on neck pickup😊. all fenders one piece😊.
Idk abt these but on the og thinline teles it was routed like a 335. I would assume all thinlines today are like that as well.
The burst Tele Pete was playing sounds like a Yosemite pickup loaded American Performer guitar.
Have a thought for me with my all maple 78 Fender Precision Bass. I've not accurately weighed it but must be well over 10 lbs as it maxes out my 4.5kg scales.
I'll go with dichotomy: a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different.
My bet would be anachronism. But a dichotomy would work.
I think he said they were not opposite to, but the same yet different. Paradox is my bet.
I love my Guild Bluesbird, but I wish it was thicker and had an F hole. QUESTION, does the F hole in these guitars effect tone? Is it acoustically audibly louder?
Nice concept on the pro 2s, but damn if they aren't some boring colours
Did Pete remember the word + was it 'Conundrum' as in a "paradoxical, insoluble, or difficult problem; a dilemma" ???
The missing dots on the fret board sure make it harder to steal your licks!
Do they have a thinline tele with a humbucker or P90 in the neck? I’d be all over that. 🤘
All those guitars are beautiful, specially the Suona thinline tele, but they are all too expensive for what they are in my opinion.
100%
Love these vids but i"m frustrated (and my wife dosn't care...🙄 ) can you please direct me to the soulfull backing track you played along with at the begining.... please.
Not sure the tone changes as that is just a box around the f hole but it looks great to me
Double entendres, Mr Pete?
I stoped looking at the fret board in 1995 lol 😂
27:35 Mick Taylor?
The bridge on that Tele is not on by itself, I am sure. Probably B+N (series), B+N (parallel), N. I am guessing there’s a hidden switch somewhere they didn’t find
OXYMORON Pete, 2 things that dont go together like slimline and strat! I agree!!!
Does the lighter body cause head dive?
idiosyncrasy?
also, congrats on figuring out the secret to driving comment engagement! 😂
Love you guys man how can I get a T-shirt?
The Captain is ripping today.
4:00 *contradictory* or , *discordant* , or later he brings it up again, I think he might mean *analogous*
If the thin line Telecaster was nitro with rosewood I would buy it in a second in shell pink.
How much weight does one gain from these thinline ?
The difference in tone is because of the headstock, obviously.
I wonder if these have the questionable neck gaps I see on AmProII Jazz bass.
So we should be expecting a special run of these with an “A-hole”. A for Anderton’s…of course.
Nice 👍
Should have demo’d both on the same amp with same settings.
the word is paradox pete
edit: it means when something is self-contradictory
I would INSTANTLY buy if the pick guards were different
Lovely sounding but thinline Strats Teles never fail to throw me for a loop. (In a good way). Still not used to em when I see em.❤
Lee “Sounds like a Strat”
Pete” plays THAT intro 😅❤😂
Jeez, guitar players are so conservative, even a classic violin f-hole (hundreds years old concept) on a Strat feels weird :)
Superflous, redundant, analogous?
smoothhhhhhhhh 😎
Analogous perhaps? The Strats are the Lawrence Welk series colors.
I would buy it for a dollar!
4:02 portmanteau
Contradiction in terms or the slang "oxymoron" is the word your looking for.
Damn! I wish I had £2k to get me one of these! ❤
Nice
At 1 million I get my Klon.
Synonymous Pete
I had to get rid of it to fix my number One.
SUONA it's like saying "PLAY" . Or maybe SUONA in the sense of "IT PLAYS" ...
Ambiguity???
Conundrum I suspect, Pete.
Actually I think the phrase Pete might be looking for is "gilding the lily," which comes from _King John_ and refers to going to extraordinary effort to make something that is already great only incrementally better.
