It was so amazing back then. Heartwarming, because with that simple dance you united everywhere and everyone. The following trips and videos where also fantastic, I keep them all in a folder and watch them sometime.

Your videos have been one of the big inspirations of my life. Watched them when I was a child. 18 years later I still watch them on occasion. I took my own meaning from them, and continue to be encouraged and inspired to this day. Thank you Matt

I plan to recreate your entire journey in 2027 - I’ve started mapping it all out & already started my dance routine after watching yours closely 😆 … think this is going to change my life forever.

Finally, after almost two decades I see all the explanation of how the trip was. Thank you! I would have liked to see clips from Bogota, Cape Town or Singapore in the video. I remember how surprised I was in 2006, but fortunately now in 2023 I have visited many of the places you showed. Thank you for your inspiration!

It's been 17+ years since you started this... and as far as I'm concerned this is still one of the greatest things the internet has ever given us. Proof that there is literally nothing that really divides us from each other. Not race, not skin, not language, religion, politics... nothing. When it comes down to it, we all want a good job, a loving family, good food, and to laugh with each other. We all like music, we all tell jokes. And well do silly dances. It's such a ridiculously simple thing you did, but the importance of what it shows can't be overstated. Truly, thank you Matt.

The world needs another viral dancing Matt video, especially right now. I second the deep thanks Matt. My wife and I have enjoyed watching your dancing videos for years, and now our kids love them too.

I was reading a story titled 'A Brief History of Internet Culture and How Everything Became Absurd' and found your video in the playlist in which Leprauchaun on monile video was uploaded. Your video motivated me a lot. Now I will do a all country WTHIM when I gather enough resources for it. But sir I got to say this. You don't have enough audience that you deserve!

I love your videos, I am wondering though, what was the interest for the gum company?
I mean they did spend money, but I, "as frequent watcher of you videos", never saw anything about this.
even the Matt wikipedia is not clear about their benefits.

Hey Matt. I have a question: do you have any plans to do another WTHIM video in the future? Would love to see another one of these and i think many others would like to see it too.

    • @baddancer

It would be hard to justify the cost of making one that is up to the standard of the older videos, not to mention the time away from my family. Also, I felt very driven to make the 2008 and 2012 videos, because I had something I felt was worth expressing. I still don’t have a clear sense of what more I can say with these videos, but am always, in the back of my head, trying to think of an idea that would be worth it.

I really wonder; how much budget did Stripe give you? Traveling the world that long could not have been cheap. Just the flights are giving me anxiety.
