  • In this video I show you how to connect an attiny85 micro controller to an Arduino Uno so you can program it. I will also show you how to set up software serial communication so you can debug your code!

    Watch out, at 5:26 you say that Tx from attiny goes to Rx in Arduino, however with the Reset connected to ground it has to be Tx to Tx to work! At least that was the reason why it wasn't working for me.. Cheers!

    I am having issues with uploading code. Why does it says A programmer is required to upload. I did everything exactly like you.

    • @makeit4less
      @makeit4less  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, there are two possible issues that it could be. First make sure that under tools > programmer you have arduino as ISP selected. The second is that on newer versions of the Arduino IDE you need to go to click the sketch menu at the top and select "upload using programmer" if either of those work please let me know so I can make a note of it!

    I thought I found someone who could get me over the hump to program the 85, like you were, I can’t seem to get it done! I can’t get to first base, the drazzy in preference, never uploads board manager, it always happens, I just thought you were the one!! Nope, I’m still a failure, I hate it!!

    Hey
    I tried this on an Attiny85v but I am just getting questionmarks with white backgrounds in the serial command box. If I connect Reset with GND on the programming arduino the serial commands stop appearing.
    Do you know how to fix this issue?
    thanks

    • @makeit4less
      @makeit4less  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, that is strange. A couple of trouble shooting things you can try are making sure that the baud rate is set correctly and also try closing the serial monitor, reset the uno and then open the serial monitor again. Let me know if any of that works

      @@makeit4less I figured it out. I was able to read out the serial communication with a serial to usb adapter. but not with the arduino as the adapter

      @@impulsive.behaviordid u make sure the baud rate in ur code matched the baud rate in serial monitor? sometimes thats the reason for those ??? there
