Hi and thanks for watching, glad you liked it, Proven again, who needs a tent, it was nice to wake up and look out as I brewed up, It’s just the hands you have to keep warm as they are mostly exposed when tarping, Cheers from the bivy
Happy new year Adrian, and what a great first camp of 2025! Its great to see you still out in the tarp when the weather is wintry, you are an inspiration to us all!
Hi Phil, thanks for watching, happy new year, To be honest I can’t see me in a tent very often, if at all, as it’s like you are not out in the wild, when the door is shut ! Just love a tarp and bivy, on this one I woke up and was able to watch the snow fall as i brewed up, magic, Cheers from the bivy
Hi and thanks for watching from afar, Freezing rain and snow pretty bad for the fingers and toes !!! Snow why dry a bit less so !!! Cheers from the bivy
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it, trouble is our snow turns to wet slush so quickly, if only it stayed as powder a bit longer, i would try a snowy hill camp then, cheers from the bivy
"There's a tarp for every occasion"! Love it. I have a first look at a bivi video out tonight. I would love to hear what you think of it since you are my bivi guru.
Nice one Adrian definitely not worth the risk heading up to the cheviot hill's or the famous woods it could have been worse it wasn't as bad as predicted though atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Nice snowy camp Sir, Im keen to do a snow camp just waiting for a proper dusting down in Surrey 😀 we don’t get much down this side but one can always hope. Had the corner of my DD 3x2.9 tear off a few weeks back doing a plough point camp and some heavy wind an rain appeared from nowhere. Came off neatly at the stitching so Im sure I can get it repaired. Got the 3x3 MC now will try that in the winter hope its a bit stronger. Happy camping 👍
Hi Tarn, thanks for watching, yes you are spoilt with the weather done there !!!! My super light tarp has taken a right battering, including a few small holes, you were either unlucky or the quality has slipped, The normal ones are stronger but heavier at over 800gr This light one I was able to shake it and stuff it in the mesh pocket Cheers from the bivy
your certainly testing the tarp in all conditions 👍 would of been a different story if there was wind blowing the snow in .but even then the bivvy would have protected you 👍⛺
Hi and thanks for watching, yes it was nice to see it hold the snow, I was going to try no bivy but glad I played safe in case a breeze got up Cheers from the bivy
Great simple and basic set-up (tried and tested A Frame), a good sleeping bag and hot brews - what could be finer than waking up in the morning, nice and warm and looking out to your snowscape? Ticks all the boxes for us. Take care, stay safe, stay well. Helen and Katarin Juska-Law, Stella and terri with Robyn.
@@Helen-and-Katarin-Juska-law hi and thanks for watching, yes nice and simple it took the snow quite well, it was great doing the morning brew while looking out to the snow coming down, got to love a tarp ! Cheers from the bivy
Hi and thanks for watching, been looking at your mad weather on the news !!! i will stick with a few cm !! at least your snow stays dry, our snow just turns straight to a wet slushy mess, cheers from a bivy
Good video mate love your out in the snow 👍 the Superfly Warbonnets are good for ground camping as well as ham , thinking of upgrading from my Army sleeping bag and getting one of those Rab 1100 sleeping bags, how you finding them ? Just one thing mate try your best not to have every bit of kit out at same time especially at night hahha when scoffing or brewing up, know it's an army thing and totally up to youbut was in twice, trust me seen plenty of soldiers lose know t like that 😅😅anyway great effort 👍and all the best, ps opinion on the Rab would be much appreciated 👍
Hi and thanks for watching, kit all out at once, it is a bad habit for sure, I was looking for something then I thought I would film it, So easy to misplace stuff for sure, I may try some different little dry bags for different bits of kit, a bad habit of mine for sure, Rab Ascent 1100, well I have used it for a few winters now, I really feel the cold and I can honestly say it really is warm I sleep in it with a wool base layer, and if really cold sometimes leave the down jacket on, but always end up taking it off, it also lifts up really big, downside not so much the weight at 1800 odd which is heavy, but it’s size it’s massive in the stuff sack so takes up a lot of room in the pack Cheers from a bivy
@@kennethwilson8633 hi and thanks for watching, yes no hills for me in bad weather, A quick walk up the road and a pleasant camp, Kept warm by getting in the sleeping bag earlier, Only hands cold packing up Cheers from the bivy
Hi and thanks for watching Glad Glad you enjoyed it The only medicine containers were the little plastic pots with toothpaste tablets and one with tablets in ? Are those what you meant, if so I don’t remember where I got them but they came with little plastic jars as well Cheers from the bivy
Slightly lost focus, mainly because of a delightful IPA, so thought you were doing a pregnancy test when you dipped that thing in your filtered water. Apologies. Must concentrate.
Hi and thanks for watching, lol Never thought of that lol It’s a great water quality tester to be fair, you can see it in previous videos Cheers from the bivy
Hardcore Camping is that Fella, Very Well Done. Excellent Sleep system Rab 1100 & Down jacket layer System. Great Cold Weather Tarp Camp Video.
