Glenn had a kind soul. When I saw them live last year I could tell he did not feel well but he performed like it was the Eagles first gig. Rest in peace. Thanks for the great songs and memories.
+Jim McFalls Actually Glenn did not have a kind soul at all. He was a jerk to almost everyone in the music industry and certainly to his fellow Eagles band-mates for well over twenty years. If he had made half the effort to work with others that he projected in interviews he might have been respected as a kind soul AND a great musician, which he most certainly was. Let's not re-write history because he died.
+Timothy Blanton I don't want to disrespect Frey, or anyone for that matter, but I think you're right. Frey may have been a decent person on the street, but business wise he was a jerk, and I've seen interviews w/Henley recently where he seems like a nice guy, but he's another one with horror business stories. I think when it came to the Eagles, and their money, they both were very difficult. They made sure everyone knew the Eagles WERE Frey and Henley, and they did start that band(or company as it's now referred too), but the other guys help put the Eagles to where they are today as well. Especially the man Frey and Henley so screwed over.....Felder. So I think Frey may have been a kind soul on the inside(I dunno in reality because I never knew him), but as a business man, he was a money grubbing snake, and a jerk. I think the same applies with Don Henley. Joe Walsh and Don Felder seem like 2 guys who'd stop on the street and talk to you for an hour about anything. Timothy.....I don't know about. He seems more reserved, and quiet, but not a necessarily a jerk.......I could be totally wrong about the whole thing too.
Was he sick for a while? The way it was presented was that he went in, nad pneumonia and didn’t come out. There’s got to be more to the tale than that. Anybody?
What a damn shame, a brilliant artist and family man like Glenn taken way way before his time. I am still saddened by his untimely passing. RIP Glenn Frey much love and admiration for you.
My Heart is so Heavy . Bob Seger made a statement stating Glenn had been battling Arthritis for the past 15 years, and they had the best specialist come in to help him. Of course nothing else they could do :( I just can't seem to stop listening to all the songs. I was in my teens in the 70's and turned up the volume every time i heard them on the radio or played there albums. He will be greatly missed . Thank you for showing and sharing the WORLD your talents through your music.. You will live in all the Eagle fans memories and hearts 4-ever
I grew up listening to the Eagles music, picked up the guitar and learn all their songs as much as i possibly could..i read all their books and their stories. Their music, the band the Eagles became my whole life and part of me. Both frey and henley were the life source of this great band. Thank you Mr Frey for the wonderful music you gave us...Take it easy maestro🎼!!!!! R.I.P.
+Tim Gill Still heartbroken over this loss...Been one of my all time favorite bands since the minute I heard their first song...I was a senior in HS and 'Take It Easy' came out and I was in love!
i am still coming to grips that Glenn is no longer here with us in body. I really took it for granted seeing them live so many times. I never saw a bad show. He always gave his best and he had that great smiles. The ladies loved him and to me he was a man's man. We all have to leave this thing we call life, but for some it is always too soon. he battled through a lot of things but always got back up. we will miss your presnce but always enjoy your music and that great smile you shared with us. You left one heck of a legacy and your music was just part of it. Thanks for everything Glenn. i think when death came knocking it came with a smile and said job well done.
Glen played my guitar in my house in the mid-eighties in Fy Myers Fl. The following days were spent golfing....a true talent and super human being. Miss you my friend
Glen Frey was always MY favourite Artist & the Eagles were my lifelong favourite band. Growing up listening to their records on repeat. Now as we are getting older I started my 'bucket list' book. To see Glen & the Eagles was #1 on that list. Now that dream will never be fulfilled & I am just to Saddened by his loss. He is irreplaceable and I will always hold all the wonderful memories from my life when the eagles songs always played a part. Rest peacefully Glen. Love Always, C.
We saw the History of the Eagles Tour concert in Toronto. It was absolutely amazing. At the end, I noticed that Glenn's shoulders seemed really rounded. You can see it in this interview, right at the very end. I thought that maybe it was because he'd spent most of his life hunched over a guitar. He walked around the stage and waved to every section and it took a good 8 minutes. It was like he was looking at everyone, and I swear he looked right at me - at least that's my story. But I thought it was almost like he was saying goodbye for good. I didn't know about the RA. I didn't realize it really was his last goodbye. That long farewell from Glenn is permanently etched in my mind and I'm so grateful for the memory. I really miss him.
I just want to say thank you to all the folks posting positive retrospective thoughts. Most are in my age group, I'm 67, can remember the first time they heard, "I'm running down the road, trying to loosen my load, I got seven women on my mind. Four that want to own me, two who want to stone me, one says she's a friend of mine". "Takin it easy, Takin it easy, don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy". As the story goes, Jackson Browne wrote that part then Glenn came in with, "Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, such a fine site to see, there's a girl my lord in a flatbed Ford, slowing down to take a look at me". And that's how The Eagles were launched and became such a major part of our lives. I strongly believe that some of the best times of my life happened as an Eagles song played in the backround. It is said that, you don't know what you got till it's gone or, what you had until it's gone. I now understand the full meaning of that verse from a Joni Mitchell song. Again, thank you all for sharing your thoughts and feelings. It has helped me get through this difficult time.
Glenn Frey inspires me as a musician. He would have toured the world as long as he could. What a loss, but what a gift to all of us his life has been. He was the driving force for the Eagles and it's been the best of American rock and roll journeys. I hope he becomes more important to the kids.
"But I'd do it all again if i could somehow but i must be leavin' soon it's your World now.." - "It's your World now" Glenn Frey - MAY YOU REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER🌹🎈🎸🎧
People have been taking pot shots at Frey for years, calling him all kinds of names. Well folks, you saw this interview. Glen Frey, as evidenced by this clip was a warm hearted guy with a great sense of humor and talent to match. He and Don brought brought extreme joy to millions of people worldwide for decades. Not a bad legacy, and RIP buddy!
What a beautiful handsome talented humble and kind intelligent man May you rip God bless you Glenn Frey thank you I ve grown up listening to the talented Eagle s and his smooth sensuous voice God bless him and his wife and family ♥️🙏🇦🇺❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Part of life, everyone dies so don't be sad. This man's music has been a narrative of my life for many years. Good news is you can always listen to the music so in a sence he will always be with us, until it's our time to go.
Just watched the Eagles documentary on Netflix. What a funny, warm, guy Glenn seemed to be. Very much reminded me of Alex Lifeson from Rush in his demeanour, humour, and general nice-guy persona
Geez, starting out 2016 really sucks with David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Dan Haggerty, Lemmy Kilmister, of Motorhead now Glenn Frey. This truly sucks....RIP... all.!!
+Ian BeechI saw them play in Melbourne Australia and I will never forget the show, breathtakingly professional musicians R.I.P. Glenn and thank you for the music.
Eagles were supposed to be honored at Kennedy Center Honors but they gave it a pass because Glenn wasn't well. He was being treated for his RA and ulcerative colitis, but it was the drugs they gave him that really killed him. The drugs really effected his immune system and he just couldn't fight back. They did their best to save his life, but I just can't stop thinking that he shouldn't have died.
Absolutely. He should not have. I read his wife is suing hospital and the doctor. Those RA medications are/can be dangerous !! They suppress the immune system. This man suffered but he did not need to die, many are struggling with RA - but it can be managed! Terrible loss!
Another sad loss to the world of music. He and the Eagles music meant far more to me than Bowie ever did. Only a quick reference to him on the BBC news though. Unlike Bowie, when they devoted half of the news to him.
+tectorama I was a HUGE Eagles fan.. Big fan of Glenn Frey and the boys. But Bowie and his death affected me more. I cannot put a finger on it. Bowie was the original rock n roll rebel to me I guess.
Bowie was a larger and life Character, but I think the media has gone over the top in their praise for him. Unless you were a true Bowie fan, I reckon many of those singing his praises, would struggle to name more than half a dozen of his songs.
Yes I miss him Glen Frey he was a wonderful talented beautiful man great memories God bless him ,RIP 🙏 bless his wife and family thank you ♥️🙏😇 🙏🙏 humble
Amazing. the guy survives the rock and roll lifestyle only to be laid low by his own immune system. There are no sure things in this life. Well, except one.

That doesn't explain how he treated Leadon, Meisner and Felder his tech Tommy Nixon and various others he's insulted and screwed over.
What did he do exactly? I've always followed the Eagles, but I never heard any of that? How about Don Henley then?
I'm sure Don Felder agrees. rofl.
gonna miss another one.

Humble?
He looked and sounded healthy. I never would have guessed it was going to be his last interview.
It was the meds for RA! Dangerous! But, I know he was probably struggling with it, looking to be helped!

Nine months later he passed away.
And he looks pretty healthy here too.
He seemed in a good shape

Rheumatoid arthritis is a serious disease RIP Glen Frey
It was probably the treatment drugs that helped kill him!
They are called the Eagles not The Eagles. Glenn was a stickler on this.

There's a place in heaven, called HOTEL CALIFORNIA.
This was the good side of Glen but ... there was another side as well ... he was human after all.

If these guys are Legend, what to say about Don Felder???
Amazing. the guy survives the rock and roll lifestyle only to be laid low by his own immune system. There are no sure things in this life. Well, except one.
Looks like a CEO of a corporation.
🤣the Eagles corporation 🤣
I hope he's not in the hotel California.

He looks very prednisonish, now I know why..Sad
ulcerative colitis, what a coincidence.
And Don Felder lives.
I wish Glenn Frey had used proper english. All he can say is "you know " you know..you know. I got tired of hearing it!
Great musician but don't assume he'll stick to his word. Or Don Henley. Power corrupts.
