Snæfellsjökull was the only thing I recall reading about Iceland growing up. Arriving at Naval Air Station Keflavik, one of the first things someone pointed out to me across the bay was this gigantic volcano in the distance. Glad I got to explore the area several times.
PS - as I recall we took a ferry across the fiord since the undersea tunnel was still just a proposed project in the 1970s.
PS2 - appreciate your videos on all these fantastic Icelandic locations!

A beautiful landscape. Very suited for fantasy movies.
There were peat houses in The Netherlands. They were build by the poor laborers who worked in the high moor regions where they digged for peat that was used for heating houses. When coal, oil and gas replaced peat that industry stopped in the previous century. I grew up in such a region. It already was a great nature reserve by then.

What a silly question. There's only so far Icelanders can go to 'escape' volcanoes ... A friend of mine--may he rest in peace--was one of those 500 people! He was bitterly disappointed about being stood up by the aliens, but loved Iceland and its people nevertheless. Being Finnish himself, he felt right at home.🤣😂

I didn't realize you could hike to the top of Eldborg - now I really want to! It's such a grand marvel, standing tall on the lava flow with Snæfellsjökull and the mountains behind it ❤

@@JustIcelandic I was born in California but grew up in the US Southeast. I used to prefer tornadoes because you generally have some sort of warning, which is usually not the case with an earthquake. However, after spending most of my adult life (so far, many decades yet to go, lord willing) in the Seattle area, I’ve realized that earthquakes are, for the most part, far less impactful. If you take precautions, you’re going to be far better off than with a tornado. And since there are far more tornadoes impacting individual communities on a regular basis than earthquakes, I think I’ll just stay here for now. (Got my eye on a PhD in Norway for later.)

I did like a 3 day stay at Ólafsvík back in the summer of 2018. We had a strong Northern wind blowing cold humid air and overcast conditions toward the peninsula. We drove around the volcano and had clear skies and could walk around wearing only T shirt and shorts. I found it quite mesmerizing watching the clouds evaporate while they attempted to get across the ridge that forms the 'backbone' of the peninsula.

I would guess it links the people with the birth of Iceland, and therefore it likely has a spiritual presence, and perhaps the book is not far from the truth if all the ice and snow were gone, I bet you could walk within one volcano and travel to all regions of Iceland through the old magma tubes.

Another superb, enjoyable presentation, combined with humour and even some comedy....I laughed aloud at the “human sheep dog” rounding up sheep....quite different from the Good Shepherd,Jesus Christ, who calls His own “sheep” by name, and leads them. Jesus said “I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” There are aliens, the Bible calls them “fallen angels” or “demons”. Led by fallen Lucifer, or Satan. Seems they “landed” a long time ago in the history of man according to the Bible. Christ said He saw Satan fall from heaven as lightning in Luke chapter 10. The evidence of his evil presence is seen in our world, along with his evil cohorts. Ok, that being said, I always learn something from your work and look with anticipation to it in the New Year. I think the aliens made a wise decision not to appear in front of so many fools. They only have themselves to blame for it.

The aliens took one look at the people waiting for them and immediatly ran away because Humans are simply too wierd and screwed up to warrant meeting them.🤣🤣🤣🤣

We in the UK have more than our share of " eccentrics " check out TH-cam video Can You Speak Venusian? Posted by kevgater. Excerpt of guy speaking Venusian on One Pair Of Eyes with Patrick Moore from 1969. Probably the same guy who predicted your Alien visit.
