We take a bicycle ride on the Leelanau TART trail to Suttons Bay Michigan. Then we stopped for lunch at Roman Wheel and walked around town till we pedaled back home.
Thats interesting. My wife has ridden that trail twice this summer but I have yet to ride it. I will ask her if they where making hay when she went. We have ridden a portion of The National Lake Shore Heritage trail and a few weeks ago rode the Betsie Valley Trail from Beulah to Lk. Michigan at Frankfort. Enjoyed both very much and will have to ride them again. (With a stop at the A&W of course for a frosty mug!)
I would say a little more than half of the trail is shaded. There are benches and a spot where a church supplies water, a hand pump, and a port-a-potti along the way. We ride it at least once during the summer. At the end, Suttons Bay is a delightful town. We like the grocery store and the Subway for a cold drink and sandwich. Hope you get to enjoy the ride and Thanks for commenting.
Ah, the glorious tart trail!
Just rode this same stretch yesterday July 5 2016, same two guys were baling hay!

Just found your channel. Great bike trails! Do you usually leave a car at the end of the trail to return to where you started?
We live in town so bike the whole trail right from our home. But many bikers park their cars at the trail head. Thanks for watching.
I should have said we ride both ways, there and then return back to where we started, our home.
Nice trail I plan on riding this someday. Does this trail have much shade? Should I expect alot of sun? I am 140 miles south east of Traverse.
