    What are your thoughts on using an E-bike for emergency transportation? Do you feel E-bikes make a good fit for emergency preparedness?

      I would use it for hauling water, and to get to work if I still had a job, but I kinda feel like using a regular bicycle is more sensible because of the cost. Still, it's good to have the power if you're going longer distances.

    • @GreyManPrepping

      @kathleenmaddox2346 Great points. It definitely would make great for long distances or if you need to get somewhere at a much faster pace.

    2 batteries is a plus. I haven’t been on a bike for several years, but it looks fun.

    Engwe: a leopard or fox. I would love to get an E-bike but I'd need a basket for my little dog.😄 It's something I've been thinking about. I see folks riding them in my area and they look like fun. Love the idea of 2 batteries. 👍 Thanks, Grey.

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Anything is possible. People get car jacked all the time. This is why I would prefer to use something like this in the woods and back roads. I think regardless from walking to driving, you are vulnerable, so being hyper aware would be key in shtf scenario.

  • @rhondaholt76

    LOVE, LOVE it!!! I NEED it in a trike style though with a BIG basket. Still, I am eyeballing this one just the same. I really like it. I am wondering if a cart I have could be hooked up to it.

      Thanks for the feedback, Rhondah. I'd like a trike as well. More stability and options. The wife said that they make carsts to pull behind 2-wheeled bikes kinda like the ones you see parents pulling their kids with. Anyways thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. I was thinking that in case of a natural disaster, an e-bike would be able to drive around abandoned cars in the roads, which might be impassable otherwise. Additionally in a chaotic situation an e-bike would be able to travel quietly

      @@GreyManPrepping In your review of e-bikes, did you come across a bike that has a 12 volt DC outlet or an outlet for charging mobile phones? That could be really helpful as a backup option

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @GeorgeOrwell-yz6zx that is a great idea! On my wife's ebike, I have a special light that's extremely bright, but at its base is a battery pack that charges small USB electronics like phones and so on.

    I'd definitely need the trike kind of e bike. I like the duel batteries. It definitely could be used for whatever you need to get done. Shopping if anything would be open 😂 to hauling water better than walking. With my old back if it took a normal person 5 minutes to walk a mile it would take me at least a half hour. Just wish these were not so darn expensive. Now I'm rambling 😂 any ways happy trails Grey. Would like to see the modification's you do to your bike. God Bless 🙏❤️🙏

    Afternoon Grey. I am of two minds on an ebike. First, yes because of being able to expend less energy getting of Dodge. Second, no because of having to charge battery time with solar in grid down. My true question about any ebike, does it have any kind of towing capacity? Would it be worth it in energy expenditure of towing a small trailer with water or such? If it can pull something, does any of these have enough power to pull a small hand manual tiller or plow for gardening? Anyway, just my thoughts when seeing ebike reviews.

    I miss riding my bike with confidence since I had septic and lost my knee and some bone in my leg I haven't rode it much, Imhappy I still have a leg but I often look at the electric bikes and think if I ran out of steam I would still be able to make a trip on it. Although it be for small cargo in a basket or a backpack perhaps. It could help you out if you needed a way to get around. Thanks Grey.

    I think these are great unless it’s an EMP. Keep a little fold out solar panel and an extra battery on it. We don’t plan to leave so I won’t spend the money on one personally but these would be invaluable for say a college student to book it home if needed. Or if cars are working toss it in the car and drive as far as the car will go then switch to the bike.

      My wife folds in half she keeps it in her vehicle as a backup form of transportation. She has more of a van style vehicle, so in the rear, it fits well. This one will fold, but it's a pain from my perspective. Also, great points Stacie, thank you 😊
