    So glad to see this. I have 95 1ton that I’m working on, with these heads. Garage ported the heads and had them milled .030. Getting screw in rocker studs now. Have a solid lift and hydraulic flat tappet cam that I bought to choose between. Can’t wait to see where your results end up

    This is going to be an awesome series transforming boat anchors into performance heads! Would be cool if you can even maintain their ability to launch of the line without quickly running out of air.
    An extra around 100 CFM is very respectful if you can get that. Those might be slightly altered because the max intake flow I have seen those do is 168 in factory form. Thanks for doing these, the only other guy that ported these on yt didn't have a flow bench to show what he did improved flow.😎👍

    I had a 5.7 tbi swapped into my cj5 and was disappointing. My old 304 AMC would rev almost to 6k and outrun the 5.7. swapped it out for a 400 I pulled out of a square body to put a 454 in. Mild cam, but otherwise stock. I changed the throttle body to a 7.4 unit with the factory GM spreadbore adapter and added a tune to the prom chip. It made a significant difference in power and it runs awesome on the tbi system. Still tops out around 5500 rpm, but it gets there quickly. Anyway, that's my tbi story.

    I just found your channel and this swirl Port series. I have a 1988 c1500 with a 305 TBI that is sporting the same heads. I have a spare set that I had resurfaced to get some extra compression that have not done any portwork at all yet. I just cleaned up my Edelbrock performer TBI and have a bunch of gaskets ordered along with some throttle body and injector pod spacers. So far the engine is bone stock with nothing touched except for the addition of an Dynamic EFI ebl flash system.
    I've been watching some of the David vizard vortec head porting videos and when I looked at the ports on these heads they did kind of slightly resemble the vortec chamber. I have to say I'm excited to see where this goes. If you have any experience with the Dynamic EFI please lets know as I haven't been able to get much tech support from the company other than look on their website.

    I built a 327 with these heads once, parts I had laying around. I think the only thing I bought new was a rering kit and one piece to 2 piece rear main adapter. Basically a 307 crank in a 638 block. Trick flow roller cam for TPI. Summit dual plane and a Holley 600. Worked great on the street and autocross. I cut the ramp down flush with the guide and cleaned up the bowls. No idea if it helped. Ran out of steam around 5000.

    • @luckyPiston
      @luckyPiston ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The 267 if im not mistaken is a 3.5" bore motor so the 193 chamber is quite a bit bigger than the bore and the intake valve might hit the top of the block , the 187 or 059 castings also swirlport heads but from the 305 would be better candidates on 267 .... Your 193's on a 305 with a little bore notching and 4" bore head gasket will work and add in flat top pistons for around 9:1 compression could be a kool little 5 liter setup

    • @chrisreynolds6520
      @chrisreynolds6520 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@luckyPistonPersonally for a 267 I would use a 601 305 head. 53cc chamber and they can easily be milled a bit. Just changing the stock dished valves for flat valves decreases the chamber volume to about 49-50cc. The stock GM valves are dished if you ever look at one.

    I made 330 hp and 420 tq out of one of those 1-ton 350s (Mid 2000s Goodwrench 20270 crate engine) with the 810 swirl ports. Heads were stock save for some milling and better springs. I put 0.016" compressed steel shims on it to get it up to 9.2:1 from 8.75:1 with the 18cc dished pistons. I swapped the GM 194/203 @ 0.050 flat tappet cam for a custom 218/218 @ 0.050 roller cam with 0.510I/0.480E lift using 1.60I/1.52E full roller rockers. Cam was ground on a 108 LSA and installed on a 104 ICL. Used an Edelbrock 3704 intake manifold bored to 2" to use a 454 TBI unit. 1" tall oval open center spacer. Used a 454 TBI van air cleaner that had a massive cool air duct and no hot air connection to the exhaust but also had a built in power bowl to help the TBI breathe around the injectors. Extremely long Thorley tri-ys with collectors even with the 700r4 crossmember they made for the G-vans. Kept the GM 2.5" catless duals, but added a DrGas X-pipe roughly under the driverside mid row seat and swapped the restrictive stock mufflers for 18" case Magnaflows. Put my 5,300 lbs 1983 G20 conversion van into the mid 14s with a 700r4 using the stock torque converter and 3.08 gears. The 810s flowed 192 cfm @ 0.450.
